  1. Hi Shorty Fly as long as you enjoy it, Your pax will love you for it. When you start to hate your job and lose your soul retire or quit. Or you will end up like this disgruntled FA. http://www.stripes.com/news/veterans/delta-airlines-we-failed-double-amputee-marine-on-recent-flight-1.200810 One Jump Wonder
  2. That type of descent is actually done at a lot of DZ's in the US. Ezpecially at boogies. My boss got to fly right seat as a pax in a westwind at a well known boogie and had a grin from ear to ear for a week. One Jump Wonder
  3. Pssssst... we don't all talk like that. Hi Mike I'm guessing that everyone doesn't live in a big house either. Great show
  4. We are getting caught up on the Brit T.V. series Downton Abby. Reading this thread about the way the brits use the english language is so true.

  6. Hi Abedy Merry Xmas Thats a great stove, Got to like the portability and how easy it was to get the fire started. We have been heating with wood for 14 yr's and our stove is anything but portable. 200 kilo's But it is made in the U.S. and it even meets all the federal Gov't emission regulations for efficiency to reduce air polution. We're lucky in some parts of the country wood stoves have been outlawed. One Jump Wonder
  7. Hi Et Al Delta The head shed is looking into this one also. http://www.stripes.com/news/veterans/delta-airlines-we-failed-double-amputee-marine-on-recent-flight-1.200810 Very poor customer service to a young double amputee marine. In spite of the Delta's PR depts best efforts this senor FA may have raised the bar on "poor customer service". It's the new normal. I'm calling BS on pointing the finger at the FAA reg's as a excuse. R.

  10. ...and they all moved away from Pops on the bench there,... Hi I'm so old I actually had to sign up for the draft at that place (White hall street). The movie was fairly realistic I remember the Sgt talking fast enough you couldn't understand what he was saying. Lots of young guy's lined up in their white briefs. One thing they didn't show was the old man who took your street cloths only had one arm.Took some of the

  12. I have no need for google when it comes to things I learned in elementary school. I do have a need for reference material when I need to prove it. I thought I learned the rules then, too. The "inside or outside the quotes" one did get misremembered. Crap! I'm going to do a Krip! I'm old and going to take a nap! Hi Nice Lady I resemble that remark. I hope this doesn't mean I've reached the shit list status of whats his name. You Know #2 BTW We heat with wood last week while taking a nap 15 ' from the stove it had a serious issue filled the house with smoke and bd enough that it set off the smoke alarms. I never heard the alarm lucky for me the boss was home and opened up the windows and let the dogs out, and didn't wake me.
  13. If big bully sell stuff at a loss - they hurt them self - not competitors, price wars is the win win for consumer, don't you think so? Hi Not really, In the long run after the bully runs off the competition they have a monopoply, than they can jack up the prices higher than before. There are plenty of DZ's in FL with lots of Peeps that are loyal to their Home DZ. With the price of gas and a couple of extra hr's of driving is the trip to lake Wales going to be worth it.? Some of that will depend on how many jumpers will show up. Tandems on the other hand, might get interesting Time will tell R. One Jump Wonder
  14. Hi We were at LP about three yr's ago practiceing some songs with the cock choir. A dude leans over and asks what a "3" is. One Jump Wonder
  15. Hi Remember when the gas stations used to have price wars. Or the big bully retailer would sell stuff at a loss to hurt his competition. R. One Jump Wonder

That's not marginal, that's Seattle. Shirley, you jest. Our smoker's on the back deck, somewhat out of the rain. I'm sure you know your deep fryer shouldn't be anywhere CLOSE to any flammable structure. BTW, we're smoking with apple/cherry/a-little-bit-of-alder. What do you and K use? Hi JM Jest I use a fork to eat and Karen smokes with charcoal apple /alder/cherry and mesquite. 1hr/pound of turkey with a roast on the rack under the turkey. I don't think useing a charcoal smoker inside the house with a window open would work.. We took some nice tender smoked turkey and roast to the fire dept a couple yr's ago to give to the guy's on Turkey day. They had a deep fat fryer set up behind the brick fire house away from everything. With a fire extinguisher on standby Every yr on the news we someone getting into trouble with those deep fat fryers. To bad about the twinkies, never liked the turkey stuffing anyway. We'll be eating turkey and roast sandwiches or a long time

  22. Hi The lessons learned , from a DZ like Mayfields need to be reinforced and not swept under the rug. I see your thread as a win win Enjoy the journey, R. R.
  23. Hi Steve I look at it like this: that 55 yo coni has the same DOM from back in the day. We've grown old together but if we've taken care of ourselves we're still servisable. More or less. Some peeps have been hitting the bottle, drugs, couch, twinkies for 55 years and have issues. Peters last post gives objective quantative numbers for the 55 YO ripstop coni strength. Don't worry be happy find a coni that wasn't used as a car cover, and stored correctly have it strength tested by someone you trust.Than make your decision. What could go wrong BTW MY trapping this winter is going good, 3 big ass rats R, One Jump Wonder
