for sure... the ones that look good when they roll out of bed in the morning, throw on jeans and a t-shirt, run a brush through their hair and they're good to go. nothing worse than waiting for a woman to 'put on her face', unless it's for a special occasion. i know all about that crap. bought a snowblower last year. it has more miles on it now than my lawnmower, which hasn't been used in a month now. i figure when i retire, i'll buy a motor home and tie the snowblower to the back. the first time someone asks what it is, i'll park and stay there forever.

let's see, i have a harley and a ferret, but they're different critters. my harley is a jack russell terrier who has, from the day we brought him home, slept under the covers at the foot of my bed. when he's on the couch, he'll burrow under a pillow. i can walk him with a laser pointer, he'll chase the dot up and down the stairs until he's ready to fall over. i have two ferrets, simon and lilly, who chase the cats, play with the dogs, and have figured out how to climb up on the kitchen counter. they used to open a drawer and climb up the back of them, then open the top drawer and they were up there. i put child proof latches on the top drawers, so lilly figured out that she could grab a towel attached to the oven door handle and pull herself up hand over hand (forepaw over forepaw?)and get up that way. one of my cats will sleep flat on his back, legs spread wide. it just looks odd. my grandmother used to have a saint bernard that would go to the garden, dig up turnips and eat them. thanks for the input everyone, i figured it was simple enough that someone must have thought of it already. oh well, ain't gonna get rich thinkin' of stuff other people already thunk of, back to work.

okay, here's the idea. i'm not an electronic guru so i don't even know if this is feasible, but here goes. what if someone came up with a small transmitter, set to a fixed frequency and mounted one on both your main canopy and on your freebag. that way, after a cutaway, a (i would think) relatively simple receiving unit could help you home in on your wayward gear. i would think that the electronics could be made small and durable enough to work, and it could be set up to turn on only after a cutaway. the batteries on the canopy could be swapped at will, and the ones on the freebag at repack time. if the price could be kept to say $10 per unit or so, would you buy a pair for your rig? any takers? or has someone already thought of this? you left out "falling out of the plane, flailing madly for stability, then pulling". that's my favourite so far, but then again, it's pretty much all i've done so far. ... but who cares! "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001

i heard/saw a comedian one time who said that it was funny how guys always talked about having sex, women have all the sex, we have to get it from them!

stupid question, did you click the 'upload attachment' button before you clicked 'post reply'? i've had to go back and do that before... "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001

wouldn't haggis be a challenge all on it's own?

hmmm, that might be true, if you were 10.28" long (tall). 350 times, say 5'8" for an average, is about 1983.33 feet, or over 6.5 football fields. sorry, i'm bored too. "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001

i did pretty much the same as lisa, 8 iad's, the last 3 were practice pulls, then signed up for pff last spring. less stress on the pff jumps because i had already flown and landed the canopy. the big trick was remembering to open it myself! i'm with you. i'm documenting firewalls that will be rebuilt in a month that support a bunch of systems that will be replaced in the new year. gawd i love the civil service! "Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." MB4252 TDS699 killing threads since 2001 -
i'm with the 'pick your battles' crowd. the phone won't cost you anything, it might be convenient for you to be able to call him, and if it gets confiscated, you aren't out anything and he learned a lesson. i'm in sort of the same boat, i have custody of my two kids, the ex has them every other weekend, plus the march break and all summer. so dad's the hard ass, making them get out of bed every morning and off to school, do homework and go to bed early. time with mom is stay up late, laze around all day, tv, vcr and phone in their rooms, the whole bit. the kids are 11 and 13 now and it's getting to be more of a challenge. look at the big picture, the cell phone probably isn't that big of a deal. there will be more battles, save yourself for the big ones. i think there was a discussion about this the last time it was posted and the consensus was that it is a photo-shop job, not a plastic surgeon job. i believe the evidence was in the size of the plaid pattern over her boobs compared to the size of the pattern on her sleeves. not that i looked that closely... at her sleeves! i'm with the other guys though, b or small c, even an a is fine. they look nice, they feel nice, a bra is optional and they will stay more or less put as they age. no chance of accidentally tucking them into your pants.
