Altitude awareness would be a good thing to concentrate on

i posted the picture of my fine BASE/skydiving safety footware before: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_attachment;postatt_id=54651; Since then i made about 200 more jumps with no complications, but had to throw them out because I stepped in dog shit on a night jump. It smelled awful.

anybody know how old Jonny Gates is?
-
what bridge? did you sprain your ankle after we left?
-
you may consider a sex change operation to increase your chances.
-
congrats to Despinato for getting 2 BASE milestones

Too bad i was not able to attend the event. No biff on landing? how disappointing. -
nice to see many familiar faces
-
any time, Tony, we enjoyed having you over. MIke is OK?
-
BD 2002, i was 31 0r 32, i am not very good with numbers
-
try jumping without a rig first. if you make it is probably safe to do a D bag or a static line

pozdravljaju, chto za building? nameknite

manta is 9 cell

I am in, Abbie, whatever the rules are. what are the dates?
-
This is brilliant! i will try it on safety day! on the second thought, why not just cut the main and hook up the base canopy instead? the rest is the same.
-
what is relevant is not the height of an object but the planned delay. 46" and 48" will pull your canopy out a little faster at 0-2 sec delay. canopy size is a factor as well. i would not jump 230 with 42. no way

Through which the control lines are routed? Of course I do. I assumed that for this “free line mode practice jumps” the steering line is routed outside of them, just like for slider down jumps. I do not have the loop on my mini risers but installing it would be a much safer/simpler mod than the one described above. You do not really need the loop at all, just route the steering line in and out the ring and stow the toggle.
-
if you have mini risers and slinks (on skydiving rig) it is very easy to move the slider down past the toggles. takes less than a couple of seconds. i have done it on on every skydive in the last several years. accidental release of the toggle is very unlikely if you pay attention. if you drop one of them - great opportunity to practice riser landing.
-
how about just pulling your slider down past the toggles?

Bridge day would be a good option if you are etching to make a BASE jump. http://www.bridgeday.info/firsttimers.php all they ask for is 50 skydives + some gear requirements, you can sit through a free FJC (an abridged version) you can have your gear checked or rent a rig from the manufacturers. take care

the big guy story made me cry. i think i am going to quit jumping due to all the "limitations" the "big" guys face.
-
there is a difference in educating about the available options, explaining pros and cons and telling a person what to do. I didnot imply that it is likely that given the choice a first timer decides to go stowed. Most of first time jumpers will choose to adhere to the most conservative method.
-
have them look down and make a choice for themselves. Or they are still in kindergarden?
-
IMHO: use PD reserve slinks. no need for sleeves.
-
i can sell you one or two so you do not have to bother with own design

you gain their respect so they seek your advice
