i can not stay current BASE jumping. i mean as current as TF residents. skydiving helps.

I average 500 skydives and 100 base jumps a year in the last three years. I would be scared to make a base jump if i am not current in skydiving. i would not be able to afford BASE either. skydiving pays for my BASE trips.

Agree. The list and the carnage tape should be a prerequisite or a mandatory part of any BASE FJC.

Thanks Tom. We picked up a Prizm with a black Dagger and a stash bag with a bunch of patches and dropped it off at Holiday Inn before the safety review. The gear was left at packing area after everyone left. Hopefully it found its way to the owner. I was too busy falling off a tree :)trying to save Yuri Base canopy to collect my own stuff.

the best way to store the clamps is to leave them in the packjob, clamped to the canopy. this way they are always there when you need them!

i do not know what the flare point is. 1 inch is an approximation. the deep setting should be where the canopy is stable (not stalling out) with minimal forward speed.

jump the canopy and find the stall point. mark it with a highlighter . the deep setting should be one inch lower. jump it again slider down off something where there is time react if you got it wrong.

Never broke any bones, got my finder pinched once, in the otter door in Z-hill, which resulted in terrible scar on my index finger. It has been my only extreme activities related injury. Oh, got my ego bruised couple of times ;)

all you need is 50 jumps (as far as i remember) to qualify. you got time.

isnt it what you are trying to do on oppening to loose veritcal speed? should it read "too much altitude"?

stall has little to do with air speed. you can sink your canopy with zero horizontal speed and be perfectly stable and stall yourself out of the sky making a hook turn at 50mph. stall happens when you increase angle of attack of your canopy too much and it is not generating lift.

The whole weak pitch/bad PC folding theory does not sound really plausible. Was the bridle entanglement involved? Anyone knows?
