  1. What lens are those taken with? 8mm?
  2. nice hearing from you. we had 3 camera guys on the jump and no exit footage ha-ha -ha
  3. My first AFF student, my wife, too :)
  4. Nothing exeptional, standard exit shots from last weekend http://www.aerialdelivery.net/Saginaw%20070707/images/IMG_6740.JPG http://www.aerialdelivery.net/Saginaw%20070607/images/IMG_6607.JPG http://www.aerialdelivery.net/Saginaw%20070607/images/IMG_6654.JPG http://www.aerialdelivery.net/Saginaw%20070607/images/IMG_6692.JPG http://www.aerialdelivery.net/SaginawJune1707/images/IMG_5894.JPG http://www.aerialdelivery.net/Saginaw%20June1607/images/IMG_5756.JPG http://www.aerialdelivery.net/Saginaw%20June1607/images/IMG_5861.JPG http://www.aerialdelivery.net/Saginaw%20070707/images/IMG_6949.JPG A few funny AFF shots http://www.aerialdelivery.net/Weekend%20of%20July%2001%202007/images/IMG_6560.JPG http://www.aerialdelivery.net/Saginaw%20June1607/images/IMG_5801.JPG http://www.aerialdelivery.net/Money%20shots/images/IMG_9803.JPG http://www.aerialdelivery.net/Money%20shots/images/IMG_0344.JPG http://www.aerialdelivery.net/Money%20shots/images/IMG_0321.JPG
  5. it is not the helmet that matters. you can make any camera helmet on the market work just fine. and , by the way, you can fly on your back just as slow if not slower as on your belly.
  6. I was not there. i wish i was. to determine the conditions at the time of the accident i looked at the record by the local weather station. the record could be wrong. Knowing the jumper leads me to believe that he is more likely to take a longer delay. to clarify: when the conditions are "perfectly jumpable" but not landable i would not jump. Please do not pull the words out of context
  7. 17-23 MPH ssw. crosswind from the left to the right.
  8. Just to set the record straight: wind induced bridle entanglement is a pure speculation. wind conditions recorded by the local station: http://raws.wrh.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/roman/meso_base_past.cgi?stn=ITD08&unit=0&time=LOCAL&day1=10&month1=04&year1=2007&hour1=17 Tabular Listing: April 9, 2007 - 16:00 through April 10, 2007 - 17:00 MDT Time(MDT) Temperature Dew Relative Wind Wind Wind Quality Weather Point Humidity Speed Gust Direction check conditions ╟ F ╟ F % mph mph 16:45 46.9 18.6 32 17 23 SSW OK unknown prcp 16:25 46.8 18.5 32 18 23 WSW OK unknown prcp accident was called in at 16.46 - winds seem to be a perfect crosswind from jumper left to right gusting at 23 on the bridge ground level. 3 seconds of freefall yields 61mph of vertical speed 4 seconds yields 72 mph of vertical speed. the wind was perfectly jumpable. Some may agrue that it was not "safely" landable. but this was not a landing accident. RIP. we will miss you.

    #110 (((

it actually works better if you tow by tail pocket. keeps the water out
  10. just give them one that is worth the $60 they paid, it is not the number of the pictures, it is the money shot that matters...
  11. "Nope" as "can not tell" or "Nope" as "NO" to the inquiry? is it NP on the bottom?
  12. Things not to tell NPS Rangers. Whatever you say may and will be used against you. as simple as that.
  13. this one should be disqualified. you got to be on the other side of the rail..
  14. To get really technical, what is relevant here is the "power" of an impact, not "energy", or energy dissipated in a given time period. The amount of kinetic energy dissipated in a water impact is about the same as in a "pavement" impact . (holding the velocity and the mass of the jumper constant) what makes the difference is the amount of time it takes to "decelerate" the body.
  15. have you tried to low free fall it? what PC and delays? the canopy is quite heavy. does it take longer to extract?
  16. you can get one on Russian black market? how much do they run?
  17. please read the report. despite including a number of incorrect statements it clearly indicates that the score was 4:1
  18. I do. he did not day bazed
  19. sit for a year? send them over. i will take a good care of your rigs for you. will keep the canopies nice and aired. i will also make sure the systems work before i sent them back. let me know

    Canopy life

Slider ups wear your lines. particularly, if you use metal links with no stops. every time the slider comes down and hits those, it leaves a ding on the rings of the slider. as the in-surface of the rings become more abrasive it eats your lines on every jump. slider downs (depending on the delay) put more stress on the canopy fabric. all of the above is nothing compare to how much damage you can do to your canopy by cooking it under the direct sun.
