  1. Welcome Josh! I once assisted on a FJC where we trained a father and son! Was a very special day for both of them. The father doesnt jump anymore, but he still comes to watch his son jumping most weekends. It's great that you've found something that you can do together on weekends! Good luck to both of you! You're gonna love it! Ready...Set...Go..! SkydiveSwakop
  2. Good luck! Keep us posted on ur progress.
  3. There is a very similar thread just a few lines down "Reality of a skydiving career" under "General Skydiving Discussions" (Dont knw how to make clicky) that might have the answers you're looking for, but rather finish school before you start thinking about a career in skydiving. What happens if you find out later that its not what you expected? Go back to school at 20...25...30...? Get involved in skydiving over the weekends. Do your AFF/SL coarse, start jumping, learn to pack, etc. and when you're done with school, atleast you'll have some idea of what your getting yourself into! Ready...Set...Go..! SkydiveSwakop
  4. Hi Mira Day 1 - 3 jumps Day 2 - 6 jumps Day 3 - 4 jumps Maybe you were just trying to progress too fast! Remember that your mind needs time to digest all of the information that is crammed into you during your FJC and student progression. You need time to assess what you've done to apply what you've learnt. I would never allow a student to do more than 3 jumps in a day. Usually after their 3rd jump, the ability to learn has diminished. Im realy glad you enjoyed your 13 jumps, and I hope that you'll take to the skies again soon! Ready...Set...Go..! SkydiveSwakop
  5. aaaah the weather! That is defnitly something I can relate to! I got stuck on my last SL jump for a month cuz the weather just wouldnt clear! Then again Im sure every skydiver is hampered by the weather at some point! I recon we should all team up and invent a machine that can control the weather! Enjoy the remainder of ur SL jumps! U should b on DRP's now, right? Ready...Set...Go..! SkydiveSwakop
  6. Send him greetings from Swakop! How many jumps u got now? Work hard on ur SL jumps and u'll be there in no time!
  7. Yes indeed! I think that every skydiver will always remember their JM's and instructors.
