I don't think I should have kids - trust me, the last thing this world needs is so much as 1 more Ralffers running around. Edited to add: Not to mention, babies scare me. Dialogue/commentary between Divot, Twardo & myself - "from your first Oshkosh when the three of us were riding to or from one of

Don't bother trying to educate kids - every single one thinks they are a great driver and "have fast reflexes" etc and it's ok for "them" to break the law all the time. As well as to ignore perfectly legitimate race courses and tracks where they can do it for real. If they went to a real course they might just learn what posers they are, and maybe even learn a few things. Instead of posting self stroking threads. There's really no need to be condescending. I merely wanted to know of any ill mechanical effects such driving can have on a vehicle. At no time was I 'stroking" nor did I ever say that what I was doing was 100% safe (nothing ever is.) I am however, as safe as one can be. It's really uncalled for to be so judgmental of me, nonetheless you can do as you wish... Edited to correct grammatical errors. Edited again to add: I will gladly look into driving on courses, as AggieDave suggested - I was not even aware that such an option existed. Is anybody else going to be watching this Discovery Channel special? I remember being at the exhibit when it first came to one of Chicago's museums. Although the whole thing was controversial (but I still don't understand why this was so ) it was a great experience & very interesting, to say the least - & equally informative. That was quite a number of years ago - & now a TV special has been made. I don't know about ya'll, but I'm a bit of a science buff & have a particular fascination of the workings, as well as the complexity of the human body. I'm very much looking forward to watching this tonight - anyone else? Dialogue/commentary between Divot, Twardo & myself - "from your first Oshkosh when the three of us were riding to or from one of

I think you're interpreting my comment about aggressive driving as being the equivalent of "offensively aggressive" driving, which I don't mean at all. Driving fast can be fun and I think some people are more equipped than others to drive quickly and do so safely. But on the whole, at least here in the U.S., even people who are going over the speed limit on an open highway still probably aren't traveling at a sustained speed of over 100. So, relatively speaking, that speed would be aggressive in comparison to my sweet little old mother, who, I can most definitely assure you, would be following the 55 mph speed limit with great precision. I'm not saying that being aggressive is the equivalent of being bad or, even necessarily inappropriate. It CAN be, but doesn't have to be. Anyway, I think you know what I mean. You really do sound like a lawyer...oh wait, that's right - you are a lawyer. "Around here" meaning where exactly? I'm just curious... You jump at SDC, according to your profile so you can't be too far from. I live on the North side of Chicago - and granted, it is a lot worse now then I ever remember it ever being (driving on Cicero is a BITCH!) but it's not war zone - yet... I look out for everybody... Whether by skydiving, or driving - if I die & it's my fault please don't pity me. I'm aware & completely responsible for the consequences of my actions. I accept that; what I can't bare the thought of is taking someone else out. Hence why I always look out for EVERYBODY and their mama' to make sure conditions are appropriate for whatever it is I'm about to do. Well, I certainly learned a lot today. As far as safety is concerned: while nothing is ever full-proof, I only drive like this when road conditions are correct & whatnot. As for the tires - they look brand spankin new! (but still doesn't mean they're rated for that speed - they're probably not for that matter.) There was only time I was sort of scared was on a trip from Toronto back to Chicago. I was somewhere near Cleavland, OH, when I bored and/or durranged (possibly strung out on something) decided to "play" with me... The long & short of it is i was on the expressway & got behind this rig that was going slow, so naturally I passed him - but that's when he would get on my ass, as for as getting on someones ass goes! If I let him pass me, he would drive slow again so long as I was behind him. The scariest moment was in passing him a subsequent time - he waited till I was mid-length with his trailer, that's when he decided to swerve into my lane; thankfully, I have very fast reflexes & was able to slam on the breaks. I remember I then abruptly did a 2-lane change and red-lined the car for as long as it took to get that semi out of my rear-view mirror. The speedometer went to 120, and I know I was going much faster than that... Good to know. The funny thing is, after you push 100+, 80 seems normal, and 55-65 seems like, well, turtle speed. Dialogue/commentary between Divot, Twardo & myself - "from your first Oshkosh when the three of us were riding to or from one of

Just how bad is it on the engine? I don't do this too often, but occasionally, if I have an open lane I'll see what I can get out of a car. Well, yesterday was 1 of those days - I was rushing to a few appointments, to add to that I had all lanes open amd it was a beautiful sunny day; how could I resist? I ended up going a little over a 100 for a little while, but at around 90-ish I felt a guilt trip - I.E "how bad is this for a car?..." Ironically, I don't know what speed the car tops out at, and I wasn't willing to go quite that far. That said, I was very impressed with the quality of the handling - nothing was shaking at all. I highly recommend Honda Accords! But seeing that I like to take care of my cars, just how hard on the car is it to drive at high speeds for short stretches of road? I have absolutely no idea how anyone can do that to themselves. If you workout it's only natural to want & need more food... I don't know how many calories I'm consuming, but I'm definatly eating more, even on the 2 days a week I'm not in the gym & doing nothing. Some people really just aren't bright... If you can't stand, can you pack??

I've seen many people use those hooks in Hinckley, I suppose I could do the same. The season opens April 5th I believe - and if it was anything like last year it'll be too cold/crappy to do anything but sit around and shoot the breeze; I could therefore start learning then and there. On a side note: there's good news on the job front; my interview is tomorrow. Hopefully it'll go well and I could get back on track in affording everything I need (mainly tunnel time) to get in the air - not to mention getting the rest of my financial life in order. -

For $9, that lemon better dance, talk, grant you 3 wishes......Or something! The lemon itself was only like 35 cents. It was the rest of the stuff I bought with it that was the problem... damn produce section sales. Yellow and red bell peppers on sale. And blueberries. And bananas. You see, one lemon gets very expensive that way. I have the same problem I.E. "oh 2 for 1"; "2 for $3." Etc, etc...I always get sucked into those damn sales.
