This is a great site to get unbiased information of what's available in the world of portable GPS units. www.gpsmagazine.com The way the guy writes the reviews (VERY detailed) you feel as though you own the unit just by reading the article(s) He really does provide a wealth of information! I have used Garmin & Magellan, & recommend them both. Both have a great routing engine, but are different in subtle ways; it realy depends on what you're looking for. Garmin's routing engine is slightly better than that of Magellan (gets you to your destination between 5-10 minutes faster), but Magellan has a better map screen (more useful information.) Furthermore, Magellan's are LOADED with features, but are more competitively priced than the competition. I think some of you are taking this tad too seriously; we all know that although the sign reads "55", or "65", everyone does about 80 - that's the socially accepted norm - end of story. If 1 person on here can honestly tell me they consistently drive the posted speed limit.....I'll, I'll.......I'll give ya a cookie! On a serious note though - cars are dangerous in the most unsuspecting situations; you don't have to be speeding to kill someone. Keep a keen eye on your surroundings, watch your mirrors...and all will be well.
