Lets see.. they are bringing in $300 to $500 a night on average (Many make MUCH more). Uncle Sam has no good way to track this income so Taxes are just on what they report. $2k a week tax free ($104K a year) just to sit around and be nice and occationally get up and wiggle their ass.. I will go ahead and try Rockbox on my Ipod Mini. I am courious now to see how much better it is. WMA is not just a DRM format. WMA files are MUCH smaller at the same bitrate. You can get almost twice as many Songs in WMA format as you can MP3 or AAC songs on the same devise at the same bitrate. WMA Songs not purchased from online sites will not have DRM protection. I dont see why? It would be a net loss for users. Gain nothing but lose many features. Why would anyone want to do that? Just to say they are running Open source?? If they are that Fashion Conscious/Trendy, They would have bought an iPod to begin with. Rockbox offers nothing I can see that is not already there with the ZVM OS.

My old Roommate had an Train Horn. Huge Thing. Used a Large Tank of Welding Gas (Argon I think) and a 12vdc Solenoid/relay to Power it. LOUD as hell. Later we Set it up on the front Porch of the House and used a Different Solenoid and wired it into Door Bell. Set the Horn about head High right outside the door. The Saturday Morning Jehovah Witnesses that dripped by would usually run Screaming after trying the door bell. It still woke us up (And everyone within a couple miles of the house) but it was worth it to see those JW`s run away so fast!! Friends quickly learned to knock. The doorbell HURT!!!

Skinny.. I will try to remember to bring you a new Desktop this weekend. Have 4 sitting the floor of my Basement right now that I really need to get rid of. As for Dell, Never had any problems. I buy all my small business computers from them (Usually at least 1 or 2 new Servers, 6 to 10 new Workstations and 3 to 5 new Laptops a year) They almost always get delivered a couple days before the date they tell me at the time I place the order.

I have never tried Rockbox and really know very little about it. I am curious.. 1) What video formats does it support? 2) Can you delete a File directly on the devise? 3) Will it support DRM files? 4) How does it effect battery life? 5) Does it support WMA Files? 6) is There anything at all that Rockbox would give that is not already standard on a ZVM? Other than the ability to Drag and Drop Files onto the iPod, What benefits does Rockbox have over the standard iPod OS??

Actually the Move in general is to a standard USB interface that works with everything. Most all new Head units and Home theatre systems have this USB port that works with anything (Including ID3 display and controls) Attached is a Picture of the Head Unit I installed in Clays DZ Trailer. Both the Ipod and Zen work just fine plugging into the USB port (With Tag Display and navigation from the head unit) This weekend I will be also installing a new Home theatre System in the DZ Trailer. It also has front USB inputs that you can plug ANY USB MP3 player into. Go to any electronics store (Circuit City, Frys, Best Buy) you will see that almost all new Head Units and Home Theater System have this feature. No need to be stuck in Apples proprietary world.

Spend the $12 on new Cables and Trash the Adapter Thingy. It sucks and was Creatives biggest mistake with the Zen.

Not sure. I do know that you have MANY more choices for buying Music with the ZVM. Napster, Rapsody, yahoo Music to go and most all others that sell MP3`s work with the Zen. Also Subscription services such as Napster to go and others (That allow you unlimited Downloads for a set Price (usually $9.99 a month) work with the ZVM but NOT the iPod.) Napster is fully integrated into WMP (Windows Media Player) v11 and works just like iTunes. The iPod limits you to iTunes only. The one thing that iTunes offers you more of is Downloadable TV shows however Creative just launched Zencast.com which should help there as well. Also dont forget that the Zen Plays almost all standard Video file types (DivX4 & 55, XviD5, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG4-SP, WMV9, Motion-JPEG) so if you can download a Video in any of these formats, All you have to do is drag and drop it onto the ZVM. With an iPod you would have to convert any of these types into an Apple format such as QT (MOV) and then add them to itunes and then Sync your iPod (Rewrite everything on the devise to add a single file and dont even dream of trying to delete a file from an iPod. This takes over an Hour on my iPod 80gb 5g and that is if I only want to add 1 File or 1000 files. Takes less than 1 minute to add a file to my ZVM) iPod, you have one choice.. iTunes. ZVM, Everything else.

Why bother with all that when you could just buy a Zen Vision M and be done? More Battery Life (Not Less) Better Video Great Video Support Better Sound Quality. USB Drive out of the Box. Is it really that important just to say “I have an iPod"?? How is that?? Why is it the way to go?? What does the iPod (even with Rockbox) do that the Zen Vision M doesnt do??
