Why is the Dublin Boogie a "County Sponsored Event" anyway? We dont need no stinkin "County Sponsorship". Oh well.. I guess Dublin would rather be known for the Annual Redneck Games as their big tourist attraction of the year. Now thats entertainment!!

I used to be that stupid too. Suffer a few of those consequences and you might change your mind. Cop says Stop and you do not stop, You lose, Plain and simple. Whether you were right or wrong at that moment is irrelevant. Arguing with the Cop will only make it worse for everyone involved. -
This String walks into a Bar and tries to order a Drink. The barkeep says Sorry we don’t serves Strings in here. The string begs for a while but the barkeep still says no. The String goes outside and balls himself up and rolls around for a while. He then goes back into the bar and Orders a Drink. The Barkeep says Hey aren’t you that String that was just in here? The String Replies, "NO, I am Afraid Not". This Mushroom walks into a Bar. He starts Buying Round after Round of Drinks for everyone in the bar. Finally someone walks up to the mushroom and says You are a Nice Guy. The Mushroom replies, "No, I am Not a Nice Guy... I am a Fun Guy!!" A guy walks into a bar with his pet monkey. He orders a drink and while he's drinking it the monkey is running wild. The monkey jumps up on the pool table and grabs the cue ball, sticks it in his mouth and swallows it whole. The bartender is livid and says to the guy, "Did you see what your monkey just did?" "No. What did that stupid shit do this time?" says the patron. "Well, he just swallowed the cue ball off the pool table, whole" says the bartender. "Yeah, well I hope it kills the fucker because he's been driving me nuts" says the patron. The guy finishes his drink and leaves. Two weeks later he comes back with the monkey. He orders a drink and the monkey starts running wild around the bar again. While the man is drinking his drink, the monkey finds some peanuts on the bar. He grabs one, sticks it up his ass, then pulls it out and eats it. The bartender is disgusted. "Did you see what your monkey did now?" he asks. "What now?" responds the patron. "Well, he stuck a peanut up his ass, then pulled it out and ate it" says the bartender. "Well, what do you expect?" replied the patron. "Ever since he ate that damn cue ball he measures everything first!!!"

the truth is in the middle somewhere. There have always been limitations on Free speech. I cant yell Fire in a Theatre, I cannot disrupt a Public Assembly. I can walk into City hall and start Screaming. I cant do lots of things. I cant Swear in some Public Places. I cant say Fuck You to a Cop (I found that one out the hard way too), I cant walk into a church and interrupt their services to express my opinion of their religion. There are many, many limitations on Free speech. In general I have the right to have my voice heard and to say what I believe, but I do not have the right to force that Voice on others. That is where this guy went astray. He kept going and going long after he was asked to stop. He was attempting to force his voice on others that were not there to hear him. -
Atlanta for Halloween is what you rally want. Imagine a Boogie with Carnival Rides, Little Blue People, Walking Trees and 100`s of Jumpers. Actually the weather can get a little Chilly at night (by Georgia standards.. That means under 75 degrees.. below 60 and it is time to break out the Long Johns around here) but the day time is great. Or even better Mid October for the "Everything under the Sun Boogie" at the Farm. It has well everything under the sun. And it will be less crowded and more suitable for a newer jumper. Free camping and a bunk house available. Probably even find you a ride from the airport. Very cost effective.

Atlanta. Several Great DZ`s Nearby. Friendly Natives (well mostly), The Fall is Great weather and then there is the "Everything under the Sun Boogie" coming up soon at that one DZ and The Halloween freely Festival at the other one.

for how long? when does his right to ask a question trump everyone elses right to ask thier question? There is only so much time available for the Q/A session. Again, There are MANY reports that this guy had been disrutive before they allowed him speak. If this turns out to be true, would it change your stance? -
No but you can chose to make shitty life choices (Not finishing school, Not learning a viable trade or skill) and you can chose NOT to have a Job. Sooner or later people must accept that life Choices have consequences. If you are too sick to work we have systems in place that will cover vital medical expenses. I still believe the biggest problem with health insurance is that people depend on group policies (generally provided through their employer) for health Insurance. I think the best solution would be to do away with these group policies and give people a real choice in health care insurance. Individual Policies are currently way over priced because the industry caters to group policies. Government regulation of healthcare generally only add to the costs.

there was. Watch the video I linked. You see them give the cut off signal right before the Officers are signaled to escort the guy away from the mic. The guy was a just that wanted to make a scene. He did. he just didnt know when to quit. -

Didnt say that. Just that he wanted to make a scene and get arrested. he planned this (Maybe not the tasering part) but the grand standing part and the getting arrested part. -

yep, I will be glad to show you the scars if we ever meet. Like I said before.. Hold on ground, Grab Hair, Pound head against concrete till Dumb Ass College Student stops trying to resist. Worked great on me many years ago. Maybe actually knocked a little (very little) sense into me. but I did learn it doesnt matter who is right, The cop says lay down and put your hands behind your back.. Do exactly that, Right then and right there. Doesnt matter if there were 100 cops. The guy kept struggling with tem. No need for anyone to risk getting hurt (the officers or the suspect). Apply the taser and carry him out. -

They have x amount of time to make their "Speech", Then the Music Starts and their mic is faded down, If they were to continue to occupy the stage at that point I am Certain Security would be asked to remove them. What you clearly dont want to see is that the "Question" had nothing to do this. His ACTIONS are what caused this. His pulling away from officers and struggling with them caused this. If they refuse to concede the floor, They should be removed. If they resist the officers that are called upon to remove them, YES. That is a Debate. Something totally different than a Breif Question/Answer period. The tazeing was only because the Guy would not stop resisting the officers. he had every chance in the world to Comply with the officers before they finally had to taze him to get the situation under control. -

So exactly how should an Officer that trying to contain a suspect that is fighting back? Just wrestle him till taps out? What about a Small Male or Female Cop trying to arrest a 250LB linebacker that doesn’t cooperate? What do they do? If they cant taser them, that leaves the Billy Club or the Side Arm. You ever tried to hold someone down and Cuff them when they do want to be Cuffed? (I haven’t either but I can imagine it is no easy task and very dangerous for the officer.) The easy solution is if you dont want to be Tasered, Dont resist. Let the officer do what he needs to do and then file complaints after wards. Struggling with the cop is going to get you nowhere and only make any situation worse. -

No, Refusing to yeild the floor when asked is a disturbance. He was given every opportunity to ask his question. He was asked repeatedly to get to his question. He then became confrontational and said "He got two hours, I can take 2 minutes". The event organizers thought differently and signaled for him to be cut off. The officer tried to escort him away from the mic, He resisted and became belligerent. Other witnesses say he was doing exactly that. Instead, they gave him a chance to ask his question. Because he refused to get to his question. Bullshit. All he had to do is not resist and he would not have been tasered. He was warned several times that if he did not stop resisting he would be tasered. He kept struggling, he got tasered. he was allowed to speak. just not as long as he wanted. The tasering came only after he kept resisting the officers. A proper way to address the situation and express Free Speech. -

They get to decide who is making a disturbance. Yes. Watch the Video again and you see one of the event coordinators clearly make the "Cut him Off" Signal seen at the far right of the screen. At that point, The officers try to get him to leave. The officers did not decide when to cut him off, They were signaled that he had overspent his time. Kerry is heard saying, I want to answer that question. But the guy starts yelling and antagonizing the situation. he was allowed to ask a question.. Instead he started making statements. When he was asked to get to his question he Replied" He got Two Hours, Now I am going to have my say" or something like that. It doesnt work that way. Ask your question and/or Move on. It was not a debate, IT was a question/Answer. Also there is a lot more to this than people are seeing. This same guy had already been making a disturbance according to many eyewitnesses. You are seeing the whole story here. The Tasering had NOTHING to do with asking a question, It had to do with refusing to comply with the officers and resisting to the point that he had to be physically restrained. -

Watch this Video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bVa6jn4rpE it helps if you turn down the sound and Just watch His actions. At :15 you see the female officer attempt to escort him away from the Mic. At :24 You see him start resisting and struggle with the Officers. At :28 You see him start to Grand Stand and continue to resist. At :43 You see him being Removed by the large black Officer. At :53 You see him try to Struggle with the cops again and try to get away. All the while he is continuing to Disrupt the proceedings. This was not a Free speech thing, It was a spoiled college kid that didnt want to follow the rules, It was a belligerent Kid that felt he was above the law and did not have to comply with the officers orders. Free speech has limitations. This guy had a chance to ask his question. I have also heard that this guy had stated before the event that he was going to get arrested. Sounds like he planned this. Ignore what he is saying for a minute and watch his actions. He left the officer’s very little choice and I think they showed great restraint in handling that situation. I know when I pulled a very similar stunt back in college, I ended up with quite a few stitches in my head. The cops didn’t have Tasers back then so the cops just pounded my head against the concrete a few times till I quit struggling with them and screaming for the News/TV camera to film this. It was effective. The taser is a much more humane way to deal with people resisting. -

If a Cop Grabs you, Pulling away and screaming "What did I do?" is absolutely the wrong way to handle the situation. You are either cooperating with the officers (Complying with thier requests or you are Resisting (Not Complying with their requests). Arguing with the COp is not going to get you anywhere. Screaming and pulling away from a Cop is only going to escalate the situation. it wasn’t the Mic he was stepping away from, It was the Cops that he was trying to get away from. I agree the cops let it go on way too long. They should have Tasered him sooner. Their job is NOT to calm him, It is to get the situation under control quickly as possible. He was resisting and not doing what the officers instructed him to do. He continued to resist so was tasered. No, the goal is to bring the situation under control. Freedom of Speech does NOT include the right to disrupt an assembly. He was given time to ask a question, He went over his allotted time and refused to give up the Mic. Had he not reacted like he did, IT did sound as if Kerry was completely willing to answer his question. It was HIS behavior that brought about this action. -

The guy was CLEARLY struggling with Officers. He was too busy trying to get away and create a scene and was completely uncooperative with the Officers. Had he followed the officers instructions, He would not have been tazered and Kerry Sounded like he wanted to answer the Question. That guy reminded me of the Kids I see throwing temper tantrums in restaurants and other public places only to be appeased by their parents. That approach does not work with cops. The more I watch that video, the more I think that guy actually got less than he deserved. -
Well said Bob. Want Health Insurance?? Get a fuckin Job. Cant find a Job? Move. Not qualified for a Job? Do something about that. Dont want a Job? Tough Shit. Too sick to work.. We call that Medicare and Medicaid. Already got it. Oh.. Dont expect your employer to pay for your Insurance. Make them give YOU the money and get your own Insurance. Once that starts happening where people can SHOP for insurance, The market will get much more competitive and rates will go down. The biggest problem I think we have now is that people DON’T get to pick their insurance, They let their employer do it for them.

Ugly Charge. I was arrested for Inciting to Riot in 1988. $50,000 Bail and was facing 5 years in prison for Less than what that guy did. If he gets a reasonable lawyer he can get it dropped to Disorderly Conduct. He was out of line and did not comply with the officers requests. Most people dont realize that you do NOT have the right to argue with a Cop (sad but true). You MUST do what they ask you to do or get arrested. I have found this to be true waaaay too many times in my life. He was causing a disturbance. Freedom of speech has limitations especially in a forum such as that. He continued to resist and failed repeatedly to comply with the officer’s requests. They finally subdued him. He was unstable and was disrupting the event. He was dealt with accordingly. The Inciting to Riot will not stick but you bet he is now on a watch list and will have alot of trouble getting into future events. Lesson: If the cop tell you to leave, You leave. You can file a complaint, Goto the local News, write a letter to whoever you want about it.. But do NOT scream "Dont touch me".. They can touch you and no matter how many times you yell "I am not resisting", Unless you are doing what they ask right then and there.. You are resisting. They MUST take whatever means available to them to get control of the situation. If he would have remained calm and cooperative it appears that Kerry was willing to hear him out and answer his questions. He did not remain calm and cooperative. -
Cities cracking down on saggy pants
Thanatos340 replied to masterblaster72's topic in Speakers Corner
I agree. This is a simple problem that can be easily fixed with an inexpensive stapler. If someone is wearing pants intentionally pulled way down, Simply pull them up and staple them in place. No need to waste perfectly good jail space on these losers (and yes, ANYONE wearing their pants down below their ass intentionally is a Looser).. They will find their own way there eventually anyway. -
Dont feel bad.. I tried to pay for one at the last dublin boogie and she told me I wasnt Cute enough. Oh.. Happy Birthday Laura. Hope you get all the spankings you deserve.
