Sometimes when I'm climbing I get the feeling that I never should have started, that I should just go home and sell all my gear. You have a lot of time to think on the way up and your mind can go to some strange places. I usually get over all that at the exit point though.

After the exit she went fetal, and the next few thousand feet look like a ballistic multi-colored meatball with the occasional leg or arm sticking out. After that she recovered into a nice stable arch, did a couple practice touches, a couple of toe taps, locked on at about 8000 feet, and did a nice stable pull at 5500. There was a crowd of about 20 people watching the video on Sunday night complete with freeze frames, slow-mo and lots of laughter. She was beet red!

Skydive Delmarva Ice Luge Birthday Celebration

On Saturday, July 30th after the sunset load, we will have an ice luge party to celebrate manifest Robin and packer Ben's birthdays. If you third cousin Bob or your goldfish Swimmy is having a birthday we can celebrate that too. Bring your favorite bottle of booze and let the ice luge do the chillin!!! -

I replied to your friend's post on rec, but I thought I'd reply here too for everyone else's benefit... Make sure you are using tapes that are compatible with your camera. Not all MiniDV tapes are the same. I have a JVC camera and when I bought Sony tapes I had problems similar to the ones you described. When I went back to JVC tapes the camera worked fine. Sorry, can't help with the second question.

I found a good deal on an appropriately sized rig by searching the classifieds for words like "student" and "big". Just for reference, my BlackJack 280 fits tightly in my Vector II 10.5.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Hey, for a free pack job, I'm happy to be a guinea pig. That was actually about twice as neat as my own usual pack job! Picture of the accidental hybrid attached!!! Yeah, what a weekend. Despite the weather we got some great jumps in and had a killer party. It was great meeting you, and jumping and partying with you. Come check out Skydive Delmarva. The dropzone is located about two hours from the DC - Baltimore area and is close to the Maryland - Delaware Beaches. There is always a turbine on the weekends. Whether you're into RW or free flying you will definitely find someone to jump with. It's a relaxed friendly atmosphere -- fun jumps and bonfires and cookouts on Saturday nights. You can't get much of a better landing area. There are farms everywhere for outs. There are RV slots, free tent camping, and a bunkhouse. There are also couches and pullouts around so finding a place to crash is no problem. Hope to see you out there!

Come on out to Skydive Delmarva. We're about 2-1/2 hours from DC. We don't have anything planned for August yet, but there is a bonfire and party every Saturday during the summer. There are plenty of place to crash around the airport -- a bunkhouse and lots of pullout couches and empty rooms. There are also RV slots available and plenty of places to put a tent. We are also close to the Maryland and Delaware beaches, so you could spend one day at the DZ and the next day at the beach!

Hey, this weekend is going to be pretty cool too! First of all I get to meet and possibly jump with YOU. Also my best friend from 6th grade is going to make his second jump ever, then his band will be playing the dropzone on Saturday night! Another friend of mine from Florida MIGHT be coming up too. I'm stoked!!!

Skydive Delmarva will have Live Music from ThatGuy after the sunset load on Saturday. There will also be a keg, hurricane drinks, a cookout and a bonfire. RW Concepts will be orgainizing loads. There will be plenty of freefliers and a handful of wingsuit jumpers around. So come on out to the eastern shore to do some jumping and partying!!! Click here for directions.

Thanks for having me on your jump! It was a really special weekend for me too. Not only did I get to do an unplanned 3 way dart on your 1000th, I also jumped with my dad on his first ever skydive, and did my first real CRW jump. Yes, I'll be bringing too this weekend.
