i dont have money for a room....i will barely have enough to jump as is... but if there is a free load in the morning............ it will be up to those driving, really. i plan to get plenty drunk with you guys, and if we left after partying it wouldnt be too late anyway (since it gets dark at 4:30). the problem is we have finals starting monday so getting back early sunday (as in, being back sunday at all) is kind of a priority. blue skies Tomas

Hey, If you come by way of champaign we should be able to help you out. We aren't gonna be able to jump a lot cuz of money so leaving really freakin early isn't of extreme importance. We'll probably leave around 10 am to head to the dz. Let us know what your plans will be. I know that we all will probably come back to Champaign sat nite (btw, i am not driving cuz i am hitting the beer as soon as that lite comes on...) cuz we have finals starting monday. Like i said, let us know so we know who's driving and such. That's as far as i know. Hey Slowfaller. The number Anne gave is regional...calling from Northern IL will get you Skydive Chicago. I dont remember their number from anywhere, but it's on their site which is www.archwayskydiving.com (guess Anne covered that, tho) They have some rental gear...big ass canopies but maybe you can get someone to lend ya a canopy to put in your rig for the day. hey as long as you get to jump! Archway is about an hr out of St Louis on I 70. Takes us about an hr and a half from U of I...an hr and 10 is the record (i think it is 90-odd miles from Champaign). Let us know if you're coming! blue skies Tomas

One of the coolest things about this sport is the fact that no matter what you will always learn something! I am just starting to get this head-down thing figured out (i have 250 jumps)...did a dive yesterday where at first i learned how to use my hands out in front of me without corking. then the guy i was flying with and i went head down without docking flying about a foot away from each other. fucking awesome!!!! Hey Joe, OK, this is what happened. I wanted to do a big way belly dive since i hadn't done one in a while. Coincidentally enough, people were building something. So eventually a 5 way became an 11 way. Dan (the pilot) and I were the freefliers on the load, everyone else has some semblance of belly-flying. So the plane is filled with the 11 of us, Jeremy, and Brian. Both of which were asked on the load but didn't want to go. For the exit we put 4 out and the rest of us chased. I was the second to last one out, with Jason being last (yeah, he did a fun jump). Well when we were getting out, Jeremy (who was behind Jason) grabs Jason's rig and Brian (who is next to him) goes "i'll race you to the base" and runs out. Then Jason leaves and Jeremy follows. As far as the dive itself, it never fully built but i made it to my slot. shortly after that the formation folded on itself (not my fault--i saw i was gonna take someone out by going over them and i left) and it went all to shit after that. at about this time people start putting it somewhat back together and there was brian, docked on the base on a dive he wasn't even a part of. One of the funnier dives i've been on. One of the funniest parts for me was that while i was laughing my ass off some of the more serious RW folk were a bit upset. Hell yeah, Anne!!! It was soooo freakin nice today! Got 3 in (as opposed to the none i thought i'd get)....the 11-that-turned-into-a-13-way was hilarious.
