I didn't like B too much on exit, as it frequently rotated a bit with us, and was definitely more wobbly once out than H. H and P were our original go to exits at Rookie level. Both felt solid, and I don't think we funneled many of them at all once we'd got a few jumps under our belt as a team. Also didn't like E. Other ones that turned out to be good exits, but ones we didn't try until we'd done quite a few days training were: A - surprisingly easy. M - also generally worked pretty well. Never, not even once, tried an O exit. Sky Switches - Affordable stills camera tongue switches and conversion adaptors, supporting various brands of camera (Canon, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic).

Did those fires not happen with older Vigils, not Vigil II/2s? Assumptions on logic controls for the Vigil I may not be valid assumptions for the Vigil II. Rather than start a new thread, I'm bumping this one. I have an Optimum 113. Quoted pack volume is 250 Cu Inch. Regarding pack volume: Does anyone have any real life experience of how the X-Fast 120 compares? They are both low pack volume reserves. Edit - received a reply from BKR, it apparently packs very similar, estimate 3-5% bulkier. And also, any one had experience of the Smart LPV 110 (or 120) to give an opinion on how they compare? I'm hesitant to take as gospel manufacturer's quoted pack volumes as they may have been measured in a differing way or conditions. Why does she refuse to pack anything with an OP? Asking as I have an Op, and want to know more about the negative side of my kit. Sky Switches - Affordable stills camera tongue switches and conversion adaptors, supporting various brands of camera (Canon, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic).

This one on ukskydiver - http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk/cms/topic/25814-aerodyne-introduces-low-pack-volume-smart-lpv/ Cheers for the info! Sky Switches - Affordable stills camera tongue switches and conversion adaptors, supporting various brands of camera (Canon, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic).

The low pack volume smart reserve has been announced and released. That's all the info I've found. Anyone know or got the more specific tech specs regarding pack volume? That sounds like a great idea! Will have to read up on micro controllers though and find out an idea for prices. But definitely something worth considering! Hadn't thought about taking an old camera apart. The double activation switches I've found are only a couple of quid so not that expensive. And Yeah the focus thing may be an issue, but I just wanted to make one to know that I can! I'm pretty sure it would be!! But I kinda just want to do it, just for the sake of doing it. I'm playing around with this and just learning to solder etc, so want to do it just for the hell of it. But am now all sorted for teh simple on off switch. Just waiting for one more delivery then I'm going to try making a 2.5mm jack one and a nikon mc-dc2 controller one. Yeah, I've searched and read quite a few of the other threads that I found, but none gave me the specifics on the double action switches that I'm asking about here. Those other threads did give me enough to be confident that I can make a switch, now I'm just looking at the bells and whistles for it! The first attempts I'm going to have over the xmas period are ones with a simple momentary on -> off action, rather than the half press focus, full press shutter approach. The switches I've found that do that are completely different shape and price. Although I am tempted to get some to give them a go. But yeah, slobber/water proof is a definite priority. I'm planning on having a go at making my own mouth switch for my camera, just for something to do as little skills building hobby... Have a source for all the bits I think I'll need, but my one unsure is the actual switch. The one I'm thinking of getting is this - http://cpc.farnell.com/multicomp/mcdts2-1r/tactile-switch-4-3mm-260g/dp/SW04112 but the description states that the switch operation is "off - on", so I'm not sure this will do the "push half way for AF, full push to take the picture" that the switch I currently have does. I'm guessing I would need a OFF-(ON) switch, but does that type have the "halfway position" actuation? Anyone able to guide me whether this is a bad choice of switch, and if it is point me towards the type I'd need? Most likely that would be a OFF-(ON) type switch? Edit - these seem the momentary contact, so OFF-(ON) type, so are these the switches I'd want? http://www.amazon.co.uk/4-3mm-Momentary-Tactile-Button-Switch/dp/B00974Z6I6/ref=sr_1_9?s=diy&ie=UTF8&qid=1418594373&sr=1-9&keywords=12mm+tact+switch+momentary+4.3mm Sky Switches - Affordable stills camera tongue switches and conversion adaptors, supporting various brands of camera (Canon, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic).

I use this stuff - http://www.amazon.com/EK-Ekcessories-10003P-AM-Anti-Fog-Cleaner/dp/B002BHWZFI - for anti-fogging of my visor on winter's jumping here in the UK. Does the job for me... it's cheap, so worth a try? I used to have a 100 that I loaded between 1.8 and 1.9. I also noticed it stalled quite easily, rarely flaring below chest level. My brakes could've done with a few more inches due to slight tail deflection on fronts. It was a very responsive canopy and I enjoyed flying it for the ten or so jumps I put on it. It did seem to have a relatively short recovery arc... It packed very big though, more like a 120 at least. I packed it the same as every other canopy I've jumped. I'm not versed enough on it to give a suitable or credible comparison to other canopies. I do have some regrets from selling it on as it was fun! Pretty sure some Firebird canopies that are No longer in production had inflatable stabilizers too. Sky Switches - Affordable stills camera tongue switches and conversion adaptors, supporting various brands of camera (Canon, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic).

I'd rather have an opinion from an independent rigger that has experience of both. My reason being, I could speak to both and get them to quote me pack volume and dimensions, but they are likely to be the same figures that I can find on their tech specs info, and different companies info in that regard isn't always comparable. Sky Switches - Affordable stills camera tongue switches and conversion adaptors, supporting various brands of camera (Canon, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic).
-
Does anyone know if there is any discernible difference in pack volumes between the Smart 120 and PDR 126? Official quoted figures from different companies aren't that comparable I've found with other canopies in the past, so has anyone got actual first hand experience? Thanks. What size 21 cell xbrace packs roughly same as 100 9 cell?

You know what, I'll take that advise from a random person on the internet! On the look out for any xbraced 80 I can find now. What could possibly go wrong!! Maybe I will some time down the line, when the thought of going as small as 80 sq ft doesn't seem as ludicrous as it does now! I'm only about 50 jumps in to flying a ~100 sq ft canopy, so that time down the line is quite a while a way! Thanks everyone for all the further answers. I didn't think to look at the Infinity/UPT etc sizing charts. That was a bit of an oversight on my part! And thanks for the real life experiences. About an 80 sq ft one seems to be roughly the expected size, which I think pretty much confirms I'm unlikely to ever make the transition to an xbrace canopy (at least in this container). Thankfully I had no plans to any time in the foreseeable future. As per the title. Just curious, what size of 21 cell xbrace canope packs roughly the same size as a typical regular 9 cell ZP 100 sq ft canopy? Just so no one jumps on me for something I'm not doing, I'm not planning on getting one, I'm happy with my canopy as it is, but as my container is made for a 100 sq ft 9 cell main, I'm interested to know what sort of xbrace size it would fit should I ever want to go down that route. Which at the moment, I don't. If different 21 cell xbrace canopies pack differently, then I'm only meaning the typical common ones - Velo, JFX and XAOS. No Leia's... Thanks in advance for any on topic answers! Sky Switches - Affordable stills camera tongue switches and conversion adaptors, supporting various brands of camera (Canon, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic). -

Bumping an old thread, but an fyi: the m2 is approved for use in the SWS Fire but not approved in the Thomas Sports Teardrop. I believe the latter is due to no testing being done.
