as i've stated, i think i'm setting my priorities right, now. that day yesterday was pretty much one of the best i've had in my life yet. well, funnily, i'm saying that almost every weekend. and i feel, as i havent really touched the tip of the iceberg yet. thats exactly what i'm planning to do. i've paid way too much attention in the past, and i dont feel like it anymore! 1/ because of the risk of ending up hurt 2/ because of the risk of ending up crippled 3/ because of the risk of ending up dead Same applies when you love someone shooting heroine. Yes... because if you shoot the heroine, she might 1. end up hurt 2. end up crippled 3. end up dead. So don't shoot the heroine. i probably would of ended up shooting heroine if i didnt find skydiving. so, might end up hurt, crippled or dead, one way or the other. personally, i believe skydiving is as safe as you make it. of course, someone can kill you with no fault on your own side at all. but the chances of being killed by an unattentive truckdriver are about the same.. so, i'd rather do something potentially unsafe, but at least, i do something i love, something that seems to put my life back on track. my SO never asked me about my concerns, nor listened to my reasons. i do assume a lot tough.. is it, that you dont value what you got, until you've lost it? if so, well..this is not my fault! i was there for long, still i was rejected to many a times. and ended up doing really stupid shit. much more stupider than i'd ever do skydiving! well, since the guy/girl ratio is that BAD, i'm sure you have a hard time to choose from.. i've asked for a phone-nr., and i've got it! that girl is really lovely, cares, and loves to jump as well! it totally feels like i'm doing the rightest thing i possibly could do. i havent felt better in years. i'll just keep on doing what i am.. and whoever ends up with me, will pretty much be happy i did so. no-one wants a frustrated, grumpy old man. if life gives you lemonades, make lemonades.. live life to tis fullest they say.. yea, finally i'm trying. and its great!!! “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. thats the price the guy wants. already the cypress is almost worth 1'800.-. the reserve, well, its old but was never used, so its at least worth some. i could still jump it for a year or two, then get a new one and transfer the cypress, and/or the reserve as well. karsten maintained it for almost the whole time. the market around here isnt really that huge. and i would really like to testjump a rig before i'd buy it. so, somehow the classifieds on dz.com is not really an option. “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. The same thing that happens when you pull the throw out when the main flap is not open. i really think we do not understand what each of us is talking about. or i'm to ignorant to see that there's no problem. as the rolled up lines seem to leave a lot of slack that is rolled up in the container, that there's a chance of them getting caught in an open mainflap. or maincover. the thing that's there to protect pin and bridle. causing a real bad opening (what sabre1 are to be known for, bad openings that is), in best, or a malfunction in worst case.. this is somehow difficult to explain.. “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. How are the lines going to get out of the container if the top main flap opens in freefall? The only scenario I can think of where that might happen is if the pin comes out. If the pin doesn't come out, won't the lines remain in the container? what happens when i pull the throw out when the mainflap is open? i think the point of this manouvre is supposed to get the pin out!

Huh? Put a pocket slider on the Sabre and it'll open just fine. the mainflap could open up in freefall, and the lines could get stuck around that then.. the balance i'm currently jumping seems to have shorter lines, at least there isnt that much "slack" between the lines rolled up on the pod compared to the other one. it might pack shorter because of the thicker lines. so, i'm worried about a.) bad openings, b.) the mainflap that could cause a malfunction. or so? “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. had my first 7-way today! one playing the rabbit flying on his back, while the pack tracked after him. sunset load, pretty covered clouds, us seven friends flying in the sky, it was beautiful! i felt very honoroued to be with them, and very thankful too that they took me with them.. i was even able to keep up with them, i've lost pretty some height during the dive, but i'll get there.. i simply just love this sport! i just love this sport! did i say i just love this sport? i need your advice in this. i could get a rig for pretty a good price, with a 2006 cypress2 in it, a pd reserve thats probably 1997, 0 rides, a sabre1 with about 600 jumps, but its got a new lineset with about 20 jumps on it. my rigger said it wasnt a bad deal at all. i think that the reserve and cypress are already worth more if bought new. the container is a javelin also 1997. a real workhorse. might need a modification on the mainflap to make it a bit more freeflyable, but could probably keep up for another hundred or more jumps, if threated correctly. also the bridle doesnt have a cover. now the lines are pretty long on that canopy, there's a chance of getting stuck around there and cause very unpleasant opening, or even provoce baglocks and the like. now,, i'm pretty much of a slut when it comes to packing. my instructor said, canopies have an urge to open. now, its all different when it comes to the sabre1. which has a reputation of its own. i'm a bit worried. the guy showed me how to pack it, and he's done it very carefully, if i can handle that. well, the canopy will probably teach me to do it right, but yeah, i'm a bit worried, about canopy for one, and container for the second. still, its pretty a good deal! what do you guys say? my mate told me to shop further around, or get another canopy.. “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S.
