Need advice about real estate encroachment knowledge
skygypsie replied to skygypsie's topic in The Bonfire
We just closed on the 2 acres of raw woods, located just west of Hayward & south of Superior & @ 1000 miles round trip, from where we now live ( Fond du Lac), 09/16/11, so we only have had opportunity to get there 4x since. We've obtained land use permits, etc., but had not started any physical changes. It is primarly up scale vacation/ recreational property, but will be our permanent primary residence. It's appreciated value & attraction is based on the aesthetics of the land. Our intent was to clear only what needed to build & install well/septic & to keep raw, for maintaining it's current & potential appreciating land value and to preserve it's natural resources, beauty & wildlife habitat. Since we plan to build a log home, any trees that needed clearing for the build site, would've been harvested for our personal use ( i.e cabin, gazebo, landscape, etc.) We also felt the standing mature trees would be a natural weather barrier & anyone who spends any time in the wild, understands the tranquility & peace of mind amongst the presence of nature/ wild life ! Like I said, State owned ATV trails & State Forestry Land abutt our property. The neighboring land owners purchased the adjoining land just 2 weeks before we did. Both are from out of state ( MN., & SD.), so when they are there, they make a dramatic sweep in clearing. Their intended use: a shed to store their boat. They've owned land/ cabin on lake property nearby, for a few years & indicated they removed a lot of the downed trees ( legally on our land), to use as firewood at the cabin property. I'm not sure if that can be construed as profiting...but most definitely trespassing and destruction of real property. I'm not sure if trees are considered personal property !? The realtor who sold to us both, & who's daughter was the seller, informed me this am., a surveyor will be re-marking all lot lines, but asked us not to contact authorities, at this time. The neighboring owners hung up on me, so it looks like getting an attorney, has to be done & now ! In the meantime, excavators were due to clear this week, so we can get electric service & a temporary camper ( during build next spring) can be done before the snow flies ! I'm not sure if we should hold up on that, at this point ! I've taken a lot of pictures the last time we were there 10/21, but we're going back this wkend, to see how much more damage has been since & take more photos. The neighbor admitted to more clearing since we were there last, claiming he was going by view, not the certified plat !!! -
Need advice about real estate encroachment knowledge

More than just a little upset..SAD & PISSED OFF ! Needing some feedback from anyone w/ any real estate law knowledge having a clue whether this is pursuable &/or civil -v- criminal: We'd been noticing some clearing of trees on a good size into land we recently purchased in the North WOODS of WI, though we've not cleared a twig ourselves, yet. "Northwoods" being the key description & factor in the land selection behind our purchase ! Rather than a range war with the adjoining land owners, we set up a make shift "cat spraying her territory" boundary & called for a survey marking the land & contacted the suspected "perps", leaving a message stating there appears to be some lot line issues. 'He' called to say they saw the log trail indicator this past wkend, but removed the 'fence' & continued cutting the trees, admittedly claiming to have "eye balled", rather than check out the plat map. He estimated he cleared @ 100'x 490' inside ( our side) the log marking we established. Our total property = 220' x 490', to begin with, so 1/2 has been encroached upon & destroyed ! 10's of our mature evergreens, birch, oak & hard maple are now gone !!! Initially, we planned to clear just a big enough build site & driveway, keeping the remainder raw & natural to the environment, as our back land adjoins State public ATV trails, surrounded by lakes & full of wild life ( black bear, whitetails, wolves, etc) Any advice or recourse options known, would be so appreciated ! -
Another horribly sad & tragic loss in skydiving ! Though everyone is personally affected by losing a friend & collegues, this will absolutely affects everyone ! My husband & I had the opportunity in meeting him with many other admirable friends & jumpers with The Liberty Parachute Team, during Oshkosh Airventures, & vendor party each year held at Skydive Adventure in Omro, WI. We knew him to be a respected & a respectful, great guy & contributor to the success in the biz/ sport ! The date Oct. 14th will now be remembered as bittersweet for me personally, in skydiving...the date of my 1st skydive 5 years ago, on a Strong Tandem System & the gear my husband has jumped & I have professionally packed the past 5 years ! Our condolences & prayers go out to his family & skyfamily. Unfortunately we will be saying good bye to another great friend & skydiving mentor, tomorrow. Bill Bayley, a long time instructor & the 1st to throw my husband out 10 years ago, died Friday ! ~ Peaceful Eternal Flights, Ted ~ ~ Peaceful Eternal Flights, Bill ~ you will both be remembered & missed, in all our lives, throughout all our days... ...& perhaps sell one ?!? If so, you have our number

Sorry to hear of the loss of your Skybrother & friend ! Prayers & condolences going out to Fonz' family, friends & his tandem passenger's family & friends, as well. Though we did not know him ( them) personally...whenever someone in the sport/ profession is tragically hurt or there is a loss of life within, all those who also live through skydiving, as do my husband & I, are all deeply affected ! Both are beauties, but I'm sure I'm too short & know I'm too broke for either

Another great bike...Triumphs ! I'm especially attracted to the 60's builds & their updated prototypes

That's one of the many major problems out there with riders, with gas prices driving inexperienced to purchasing a bike, especially to those that want a fast, cool, often to big too handle...as their 1st ride out of the gate ! Too many times these people are getting on one, thinking if they can figure out mechanical operations, they are accomplished riders ! Like any thing else, experience comes with the respect & knowing...though you operate the machine, the machine is ultimately in charge of the outcome ! I've rode in many organized rides & rally rides w/ 100's of other riders. Too many times on one of these rides some inexperienced newbie, decides to 'hot dog' for the spectating crowds, taking himself & other riders down with him ! Like wise, the drivers behind the wheel; who are also riders, understand a motorcycle has the same hinderances in emergency, unforeseen, or in anticipation for the many unexpected issues that can & do come up, has reflex & an eye for handling & reacting. Contrary, there are some clueless non rider idiots who seem to have the brain less idea mc riders can stop on a dime, during any given situation...or they claim not to have seen, nor heard them. One of the main reasons I ride with straight pipes & I learned this when I 1st started riding: make sure I look at every driver in the eye before making any manuever where our paths may cross...in hopes they are looking into mine . Unfortunately, that's not always the case. Another "riding lesson" I adopted: If you know you're going down...put /ride it down ! The only time I've been down, is having made the decision to take it down to avoid T-boning some dumb ass who decided to pull out or turn directly in front of me. In 15 years & over 47,000 miles of riding, I've had to put it down twice...both while in town riding @ 35 mph. The last time, I had gravel imbedded in my brake forearm for months, leaving a 4" scar...but when I got the bike back up, I pursued the chick who was on her cell phone when she turned directly in front of me, to her 'destination' & ...well, put it this way...she got the point of what situation she put me in While riding, it is no different then skydiving...it is utmost, you're head must always be on a swivel & reactionary ability on que. Have a great & BlueSkies Day, Big Guy..we haven't chatted in awhile...hope all is going well

Why thank you & yes they are. Though I've outgrown the Sportster, I will always keep it. The night I got it ( Dec. 23 '96), my dad died. He lived alone & I called him to tell him, but he never answered the phone. We found him the following morning, having died of a heart attack The custom paint was in tribute to him.. his/our Cherokee & BlackFoot Heritage, & bittersweet thorned rose & heart w/ black tear drop. She's getting a facelift.. being torn down & total overhaul & time to change paint job, this winter. Your choices are both primo... I can see why you'd want either or both ! I prefer the HD V-Rod, though my husband thinks the Ducati would be a good inner city bike...cutting in/out of traffic. He was a sport bike rider by choice, but I've converted him to HD riding It depends on how you WANT to ride. HD's do have a typically hard wide turn, but will always be my ONLY choice of mc & absolutely the best in open road riding & like you said " are pure sex on wheels" !

I'm a Harley Enthusiast & a Sportster 883 was my 1st, 15 years ago ! It's excellent for in city riding, though she's not a people pleaser with straight pipes I find some slight issues with a Sportster: a bit too light for highway riding on windier days, tends to idle high ( regardless of idle adjustment) on hotter days & a little harder to negotiate sharp curves/ turns & storage incapability. So within the 1st year of riding, a Springer Softtail was my next. I'm 5'3", 128# & have no problem handling it, as it has excellent center of gravity, rideability & comfort ! A low rider is also a good "city' bike. Not all HD riders ride in black leather at all times, though in cooler weather & open road rides, that is my preferred attire ! Before Skydiving, it was my major mode of transportation, even rode to school & to work in my Nursing scrubs. You can't beat the cost of gas, convenience, stress reducer & parking ! It is still my preference for transportation, just no time nor feasilbility with gear Whatever you get...Shiny Side up & Keep it on 2 & of course BlueSkies, always

New WI Public Employee Union Rules a Success?
skygypsie replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
What's your point ? I don't have a clue nor care about Greece's situation...I care only about the here & now & futuristic affect on EVERYONE by what State/ Federal/ Gov't Union's have done (or not done ) to benefit their employees, at the expense of ALL taxpayors...whether in our locales or as a country as a whole ! We all have a right to a position on this, as those same employees are our employees, as well! It is a shame it has come down to this, but based on the domino effect of political & corporate empowerment, misuse & corruption...it has ! Why do these Government workers have the entitlement NOT to be affected based on taxpayors subsidizing their benefits, nor to be untainted by the economic woes all others bear, due to the power of their Unions & Collective Bargaining Rights ? Private sector unions do not have much influence on my position nor opinions, other than what I stated earlier -

I have a simple solution.... if you as a corporation wish to do business in ANY form in the USA.... you will hire Americans and you will pay taxes based on that business in the USA --------------------------------------------------------- That is the brilliant plan I was talking about...I'm in 100% agreement -

I'll try to simplify my position for you. I do not support nor commend corporate American business', whether Union supported or not, who once their pockets are full to suffice; specifically by the hard working blue color worker, nor Unions affiliated with, nor those who ultimately dumped & fled those workers doing so & by abandonment of the once honored & 'needed' Union's positions organized solely for the workers by the workers. Mottos & positions: " united we stand divided we fall" " an injury to one is a concern of all"...once meant something to Unions, but it's evident not to all, for all ! My position with State & Government employees collective bargaining rights here in Wisconsin, or any other state for that matter...what choice is there ? Our gardens are sparse...our turnips are in despair, shriveled, withering & bled dry! -

You really should check the factual statistics of what we the people of Wisconsin have been providing to some of these state workers, before the Act went into effect ! Teachers, WI. Dep't of Corrections, etc. were collecting $1000's of dollars annually; beyond their wages, salaries, health & retirement benefits, due to Union agreements & loopholes. While corporate companies located here (i.e. GM, etc ) were closing doors after Federal bailouts, leaving a cloud of dust. The trickling affect resulted in 1000's more losing their jobs & the closing of many small businesses, due to those workers lost income & inability to spend & support those businesses ! Unions such as UAW nor Teamsters did little, as in nothing to protect those many 1000's. That imminent affect has crossed into every aspect of employment, income ( to include DZ's) & quality of life in every home in WI., & no doubt every state is experiencing it. With so many blue collar & those from every other profession ( to include DZ's) out of work, or with little, to no income collected...to tax, to pay these State workers perks...where would you suggest the line is drawn ? There are local efforts to recall our Govenor, who had the balls & initiative to do what was best, equally across the board...perhaps you could step up with some brilliant plan you may have & present yourself as our new Govenor..or maybe your & every other State would like to pick up their tab ! Wait...I think you might already, in the form of Federal taxes HAPPY 4TH OF JULY -
How much experience should someone have before buying in as a DZO ?

How much experience should someone have before buying in as a DZO ?
skygypsie replied to skygypsie's topic in Speakers Corner
Just curious if anyone has any feedback on how they feel about what qualifications; if any is needed, by someone who just squeaked by getting an A License & then 'buys' in to become a DZO...it would seem for the title. I say squeaked by, as this DZO doesn't know how to pack their own parachute & once they obtained their A license at the end of last season, quit jumping ! The lack of this individuals hands on participation, limited skydiving knowledge & experience, familiarness with FAA, NTSB, & USPA regs. has already become evident ! The participation & attendence at the DZ is limited & brief, but when they are there...totally tips the pony cart, initiates conflicts in front of Staff, students & spectators. Though the hangar has had some nice new innemities since the newly acquired position: updated fridge, a nice business card holder on the manifest desk, a partial partition to block the suns reflection on the tandem student's video screen & I think there's talk of curtains Some dedicated & experienced staff & upjumpers have already 'left' the dz for good ! Do you think DZO's should have more under their belt, other than a money belt ? -
Speaking of this month's ( July '11) Parachutist pix.. "Skydiver's of the Future Art Show" p. 55 upper right corner: I'd be that proud Nonny, my husband Brad, & the artist; is our grandson, Brady ! He's only 9 but he's fascinated with, & hooked on anything skydive/ aviation related Sorry, but I was so excited & proud to see his entry!

I am so terribly sorry ! My prayers got out to her friends & family ! No doubt she is now soaring as the angel her character & beauty, personified ! I found myself wondering how they were doing just yesterday, as we were informed of a good friend of our's, seriously injured in a skydiving incident in Omro ! ~ BlueSkies & Peaceful Flights ~

Glad to hear you're on the positive mend

Though I did not have the honor to know him, my husband did very well ! We were just discussing him with other mutual friends & colleagues; as well as, went through through some footage, recently. His upstanding character, service to Our Country, and skydiving abilities...sounds remarkable! I've known of him since I was introduced into Skydiving 5 years ago, & began as a Staff DZ Lead Packer ... It was then; my now husband, gave me one of his most valuable momentos... Tony's "Power Boy" closing tool, that he'd always worn around his neck, & had given to my husband shortly before his death ! I treasure it & wear it continuosly...having had it given to me by someone that means so much to me, & given to someone who meant so much to him ! He also passed on something else, he obviously had in common with many... Captain 'Silver' ...I've always drank Captain, but 'Silver' is so, so...the best

Geez...purgatory reminds me a lot of the way my life was, before The Last Day of May 21, 2011 I have no sympathy to those 'believers' who gave away all their money & belongings... perhaps that's why I was not allowed entrance through the 'golden gates'...& stuck in here... due to my lack of meekness, humility for ignorance, & my many humanitarian flaws No doubt, they'll be looking for a gov't bail out, subsidization, &/or aid from the system... for gullibleness "Gullible" is included in the acceptable considerations for entitlements for disability benefits, isn't it ?

That's what I was hoping to hear Not that it really matters I suppose, as I don't know you directly ! I just would 've been surprised; otherwise, given the content & context of your communicality ! I myself, have never conformed to society, though have been known to be a product thereof... maybe that's why I chose, to wing it through...for the most part ! I chose the username skyGYPSIE...for a reason Peace & BlueSkies to you, my dear ~
