  2. Anything and everything you do on that computer can potentially be logged. Alot of the time it is and just stored to some backups incase they need to reference it later.
  3. I believe it uses the same database as DZ.com so you shouldnt have to re-register there.
  4. Good post Dave I think Chris was trying to find out the theory behind these choices, not neccessarily saying hes gonna go get himself a sub 100 xbrace and strap on as much lead as he needs to achieve the correct WL. From a physics and math perspective, there has to be away to figure out the drag vs the lift to calculate speed and distance. (Of course, eliminating variables like different canopies/pilots expereience level, wind etc..) Im just not sure how to go about obtaining the neccessary formula's for such calculations.
  5. Put my order in March 14.. expected shipdate June 20th. Just like to say they have been excellent to deal with and their military discount of 50% off is great!!
  6. 100 jumps on a saber 170 @ 1.1:1 1 brisk opening, 99 decent openings. You could always consider getting a domed slider as well.
  7. Just wondering what Wings had to say about this mal? Looks like the PC would have stayed in tow if the AFFI didnt yank it out.
  8. From skydiveratings.com Z-hills January 11 - 14 SL/IAD rating course Skydive City,FL Just missed that one.. and theres no more listed. but im sure with enough interest they would run one.
  9. I got a 100 jumps on a sabre1 170 loaded at 1.1:1 Best openings I get are when I don't play with the pack job (no rolling or stuffing anything) just keep the slider on the slider stops during the entire pack job. Its slammed me once, sore back and leg bruises.. it was flat packed... i wouldn't recommend trying.
  10. lol funny non the less, but in heat like that and sandy environment guys probably got some nasty chaffing going on there.
  11. Yup like everyone else has been saying, tie the friggin thing down. Personally i made 4 seperate knots, one for each corner. I figure all 4 knots going at once was pretty unlikely. Where if you have 1 knot and it goes bye bye altimeter. When I was in Z-hills before christmas I picked up a pair of gloves like in the pics below from sunshine factory. Im alot happier with the gloves than I am with L&B's provided mounts.
  12. Ordered a cypres from Richard a while back, very fast turn around time.
  13. at least when the air is cold the plane (with no door) climbs faster so you don't freeze as much on the ride up. (unless your in the jm slot then you're pretty much screwed )
  14. That thing looks like it could be fun to play with for a while. I guess even RC toys have to worry about mals too.
  15. Agreed, choosing a place to land would be far better than drifting to where a round dictates you land. Now what if you are unconscious, still prefer that highly loaded square over a round? Hazards aside, the round might leave you more intact after landing.
  16. good job spotting the gear getting caught, but I always ask before I touch anyones gear. That could of saved the hostility if you just told him what had happened first.
  17. MH is a good dropzone, yes watergear is mandatory. However im pretty sure they've never had an unintentional water landing there (could be wrong but I think I remember asking a while back) Spotting is something you'll wanna keep an eye on and you'll pick it up better as you progress. Some times you get short sometimes you get long just the way it is. The more you jump the better you will get at setting your pattern correctly for high winds. Can't say ive never grabbed on my fronts to get down a little quicker but never because of going backwards. Hopefully the weather stays warm maybe we'll get a couple jumps in before the end of the season. Also me and Chris gonna make a couple trips to PST over the winter since they dont close if your interested.
  18. NEVER STORE DRY ICE IN GLASS OR OTHER SEALED (AIRTIGHT) CONTAINERS OR COOLERS. Storage in a sealed container can result in a rupture or explosion of the container from over-pressurization. -- Funny, that kept us entertained around the bonfire all night!
  19. Also don't always rely on technology.. ive been setup in landing pattern before where my alti says 500ft but it looked alot more like 200 to me. technology can do weird shit sometimes. Oh and if your wondering who I am, I was at your DZ with Chris not too long ago (doing some tracking jumps) -Jim
  20. Since Gatineau is closed I take it you were jumping at Mile High in arnprior. Were you on double fronts just trying to make it back to the short grass? Cause other than the actual dz building/trailer city/runway your clear for hazards all that wide open field in the middle of the triangle. I understand you were trying to get some forward penetration to "make it back" where were you going to land if you didn't use your fronts? (Red box in picture is the DZ with landing area just at the bottom of the box ..short grass) edit: add picture -Jim
  21. Maybe you should try PM'ing him instead of replying to a 4 year old thread. Just a suggestion..
  22. Call this page "email.asp" and upload it to the same directory as where ever your "form" page is. THIS IS ASSUMING, that what ever your form page is has some input's named From, Subject and Body Example you should see something similar to these 3 lines (what matters is the part thats in bold) If you still don't understand, post the code to your forms page, or pm me it. edit to add: the form page must also contain this line
  23. Heres the code commented and broken down to explain it better... Subject: From: Body: Now we will look at email.asp and what its doing.
  24. Post new additions to the list only. a couple of lines listing DZ's with a YES or NO would be alot better than reposting the whole list over and over. Then you or somebody can compile it and keep the list updated in ONE place. (Preferably your first post at the top of this thread. that would keep it clean)
