  1. I bet the MN crew is happy. Nice dayblaze to start with, then he comes back just to make sure he burned it good. MN's gonna be hot for the next little while.
  2. Here's some pics of my 2K Side FX Top mounted HC5 Liquid .45 lens Cookie box Cutaway system Fitted Cameye Love everything about it, except for the price tag!
  3. http://www.parachuteschool.com in Toronto is open all winter. They do have an AFF program, not sure if its offered during the winter, but I know the static line progression runs year round.
  4. I run with the wires behind my head then down my shirt to where my ipod attaches on my waistband. I can't get ear buds to stay in worth crap while running so I use the headphones with the strap that sits on the back of my head.
  5. I've got about 100 or so sit jumps and am just now getting to the point where I can take actual docks (not just zooming by and grabbing for a foot or something). Still only avg about 3 points per jump.
  6. I ended up with some similar dings in my slider grommets from using Aerodynes soft links. At first I didn't have the metal rings tacked down in place and they would always come out to the sides on opening. http://www.parachut.fr/images/Soft%20links.jpg
  7. I recently ordered a Side FX from them. E-mail correspondence was good, no problems answering my questions. I was told it would be about 8 weeks before I would receive my helmet. I had it in my hands in 3 weeks! Very happy with the quality of their products.
  8. I have spoken to 3 highly experienced canopy pilots at my DZ (1200 - 2600 jumps) and they all believe that I am capable of flying the canopy, and that it is a much better choice than the sabre. I will continue to get advice from these individuals regarding how to properly fly a high-performance, and even for the last 10 jumps or so, there advice has been quite useful. Steve, not to stir the pot.. but what about Rob (one of the most experienced pilots at the dz) told you not to jump that canopy. and I quote .. "I have never stepped in like this before but I will do it this time...Steve, you should not be jumping a Samuri 136! I am thinking something of 170 sq ft for now - doesn't matter what you have jumped up to now." Don't hurt yourself man.
  9. get that last point in I'd like to say go for silver. But as everyone else already said i'm sure my instinct would be to dump my main (yay for 900ft cobalt openings ). I wouldn't turn/track just dump.
  10. Let us know what your malfunction was on monday I learnt my lesson messin' with the malfunction gremlins. Better to keep your mouth shut then bring attention to yourself
  11. I know they were doing some sort of shut down for vacation the last 2 weeks. I got an e-mail from them today, so give them another shot im sure you will get a reply.
  12. dude, just get a velocity .. preferably something sub 100 and remember flaring is a sign of weakness.
  13. Chris, There's a slight confusion there. AV input would allow you to input Audio/Video (from a lipstick/bullet camera, for instance) into the camera and use it as a recorder. HYPEYE D PRO will allow you to plug into a D/AV port
  14. Anyone top mounted a Cookie HC5 box on an Optik? and how was the fit?
  15. how about the guy that kept trying to outbid me on the HC5 I just bought! I'd put money on it that it was a fellow skydiver..

  17. Cool!, looks like a fairly useful program. The variables seem pretty straight forward but lets see if I got this right %y %m %d == year, month, day %t == tandem passengers name %v == vidiots name This program could be a real time saver for getting the pics made up quick. edit: after actually installing the program and using it the variables are pretty straight forward, I asked that based on the screenshot. Oh well, ill leave this question up might help some other people out.
  18. Get what you want. What you think looks good. If the black and blue color scheme is what you like go for it. If you need help with idea's most manufacture sites have a rig gallery to show you some ideas. The avoid white thing is mostly because you will probably slide it in a couple of times and grass stains really show up on a white rig. As well white just tends to show all dirt. I really like the white rigs I have seen, but wouldn't own one myself.
  19. Why don't you try calling them? I always get better customer service from any company over the phone rather than through email.
  20. Bought a main and a reserve off Mike. Shipping was fast and everything arrived in better than expected condition. Recommended 100%
  21. 10 Jumps to get a SOLO license, 25 to get an A.. Although for solo most are around 20ish and for the A at least 50.

  23. Happened to me in Zhills over xmas. Came down to find my PC was attached just by the kill line. The bridle had worn through right at the attachment where it meets the dbag. An easy to miss spot during normal packing routine. Keep this in mind during inspections! edit: spelling.
  24. Crossfit is a type of workout program. It combines alot of different things from weights, cardio, plyo's etc.. and all work outs are at high intensity. Everything is pretty much timed and you try and complete the workout as fast as possible with little to no rest between sets. edit to add todays workout. Was supposed to be a rest day but I felt like doing something. June 8th. Crossfit Workout of the day scaled 1/2 5 rounds for time 12 burpee's 12 pullups 7:37
