HI Carey, Of course you can go skydiving You can do whatever you want.... it just takes a little more thinking around the issues. Have a read here http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?forum=33; and here but bear in mind they may be more focused on solo skydiving. For a tandem skydive many established Dropzones will do the job

Sane people would have provided a link. Would have been nice!!! Azureriders// thanks for the info. It surprised me to hear about the incident on an A license recurrency jump. I suppose it just goes to show why currency is king -

AFFi's - Your AFF experiences? best and worst...

Thats sad.... I couldnt see a date on the article, but kudos to the instructor for sticking to his hard deck (almost)... It sounds like the student panicked when they couldnt find the hackey and it got worse from then on? -

Im curious really. Becoming an AFFi is something I definately want to do a good few years down the road, and I would love to hear your experiences as AFFis..both good and bad.. eg/ Your best jumps/students Your worst student jumps and anything else interesting and relevant Thanks -
Great videos as well mate. I Like the news coverage Is it level 3 next? or are you doing a few more feeler jumps until the instructors feel happy to let go?

Been offered a Pro Dytter - Is it worth buying?
humanflite replied to humanflite's topic in Gear and Rigging
Thanks Carlo Can anyone answer this please I am interested in a Neptune mainly for when under canopy at this stage. Can anyone please tell me, how accurate are they? and what height are they accurate to? eg/ would it be accurate at 10ft off the ground, in addition to say 800 feet off the ground? -
Well Done Dale. Looks like your making good progress mate. Very low turn at the end of your landing 'pattern' though!! Cant imagine the instructors were chuffed with that one!

bear grylls is 'allegedly' ex TA SAS (territorial army version). Although technically as hard to get into its the part time outfit for civvies...and hence he cant call himself a real SAS man IMO and although I didnt see it, his water landing sounds dangerous! oh, and heres some Bear Grylls facts.... http://www.jaredbridges.net/archives/2007/06/15/bear-grylls-facts/

Can you elaborate a little on this technique for not fogging up please? Also, to the OP, Im not sure if the rules are the same by the USPA but in the UK you have to be a B License jumper with a minimum of 100 jumps to use a full face helmet (note// I could be wrong on the number of jumps...it may be more?)

Thanks for the info. ........... I am interested in a Neptune mainly for when under canopy at this stage. Can anyone please tell me, how accurate are they? and what height are they accurate to? eg/ would it be accurate at 10ft off the ground, in addition to say 800 feet off the ground? Also, my Pro Dytter has now arrived .. I am surprised by how small it is (I thought it was bigger physically from the pictures) however it has not got a helmet mounting bracket. Do they come with these as stock please? (I know some helmets have a pocket already but I want to know if I need to request this part from the seller!) -
This may seem like a daft question... and thats because it is really but do any of you guys and gals (with hearing loss) use an audible altimeter ?? Im guessing not. But I would like to start wearing ear plugs purely because some old timers at my DZ have told me how their hearing is now quite poor ...and they blame it on skydiving for 30 years plus with no ear protection.. Ive just bought my first audible alti, and am in two minds whether to just have a backup on my wrist (neptune and also a mech alti) and use ear plugs instead?

I didnt realise you were talking about a tandem.... you should be talking to your potential instructors about a matter such as this, but these two threads (among others) have some great info in about getting more flexible to arch... http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=3212685;page=1;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25; http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=261846;search_string=cant%20arch;#261846

Although the post above is a good one there are some people who cant arch on the ground, and may not arch in the air either. Do a search on here for 'how to arch' or simila r as there have been some good threads on how to practise and get more flexible. A pouncing position will mean you are very unstable if your instructors decide to let go, so practice lots on the ground at home and you will get there for sure
