This was a few years back..but i had to del with paypal's customer service. While i was out to sea someone hacked my ebay and paypal(they were good because they were two totally different passwords!) and use it to buy parts for a Honda S2000. Imagine my suprise when i get back from being out to sea and try to get cash out of an ATM..how my aailable balance is -2300 dollars. major WTF factor. Finally trace it down to the fraud charges. I was communicationg with paypal and my bank at the same time. There were three separate charges. I forget the exact amounts..but i know one of them was for 900 dollars. Well..there were three total charges. paypal refunded all three charges to my bank account. Ok..everythign is cool. Paypal then took once charge back. I called and complained again and they said they would investigate it. 2 days later i notice in my online account that they post 2 charges back to my bank account...now beign over 900 dollars. I let it go for 2 weeks..waiting if the extra charge would be taken back to paypal. It wasnt. I called them and they looked at my account and told me that there was a zero balance....when on my screen i was 900 dollars. I was like ok...whatever. I downloaded the 900 dollars to my bank account and closed the paypal account. So i actually made out on everythign that happened. The only bad thing that amounted from this was the fact that i was late on my rent by 9 days becasue i could access any of my money till it was straightened out. It was well worth 900 free dollars though. And i have yet..to this day..heard anything from them about it..and lie i said..this was back in like 2002-2003 timeframe. You are right in saying that VTEC is like jekyl and Hyde. In a vtec head there are 2 profiles. One set the lobes are factory specs. The second profile they are advanced..meaning the lobes come down farther allowing for more air to flow intot he engine and for more exhaust to flow out...which is why you get that power boost when vtec engages. Although it doesnt have anything directly to do with the timing as long as the number one cylinder was at TDC when the timing was done after the work. it depends on which directiong the timing is off. If its retarded then it will effect the lower rpm range. If its advanced then it will affect the higher rpm range. My problem was it was advanced....making the higher rpm's sluggish, which i think is the same problem you are having, just not as sever as mine were! Its your timing. I had a 93 prelude. We had to replace the front main seal and the cam seals. We did that...got eveything back together. FOr a week straight my car ran sluggish as hell. It was severly out of timing. I got it over to my buddy's house hat has a timing gun. Normal honda timing is supposed to be 16. Min was at 9!!!!! Yeah..really bad. So we craked the timing cover off and noticed that the cam gears were two teeth off. So we fixed that. Put everythign back together. That put me ar 14 timing. tapped the distributor a few times..bam,,,back on 16 running like a champ. i met a girl the first day i started aff. She is one of the manifest guy's daughter. She is around your age and she is always packing for the fun jumpers. She doesnt pack tandem rigs(i dont think) and i have never heard anyone talking bad about her pack jobs...granted i have only been to my dz 4 times so far...but she was there every time busy packing mains. So im out walking the dog..and what drives around me....a white Jeep Cherokee. I noticed theres no driver. It makes a right turn..and i see the steering wheel! Im into import compact cars....and i have seen a few RHD imports...but they were preludes and integra's. I now all cars in Japan are RHD...but a jeep?? Since when do they even make a conversion kit to convert an American car to RHD? I had a really good experiance on ebay when i bought a car(my first ebay motors purchase). Long story short i paid 800 dollars for a 1993 Honda Prelude. He said the motor was blown. For 80 dollars i was fine with that as i coudl easily swap a new motor into it.
