To SkydiveNFlorida who thinks we are slaughtering civilians and who has no clue of what the soldiers are doing in Iraq. TO people who do not believe we are undermanned This article says it all. Pay attention to where it says what the soldiers are doing and the impatient civilians that do not listen and go around road blocks. and to the supply specialist who is doing the same work as MP's because of being under staffed. Everything he said IS true. I agree totally. I would liek to know more about her situation as well becasue it makes absolutely no sense at all. Any good commander would have stepped in and given the soldier options before the situation could get that bad, and if it continued she would be administratively seperated. Yes civilians die in war, there is no way around that. But your point of innocents diing has no value. Alot more innocent iraqii's were being killed under the rule of sadaam then the amount being killed now. And.....any civilians being killed there now are being killed by the same people that are attackign our soldiers still. We did not go over there to target civilians, we are there to help them, and we are doign a great job at it too. By the time you read this you have already read it.

I do not see hwo she can be on food stamps. even as an E-1 you make $1,200 a month and dependign on her location her BAH will be around $680, plus she will get paid a bit extra for having as child, she can recieve help from family support serves, there are financial advice services and so on and so on. Unless you just have a ton opf credit cards and do not pay them(and if that is the case you can recieve an Article 15 or worse) it is impossible to be in the military and have to live on food stamps. After reading that I just wanted to take a moment and tell everyone serving our country in any of the uniformed services past, present and future THANK YOU, GOD BLESS, and I appericate it. 8 year commitment sounds liek the reserve commitment to me. And if she is in the reserves and that is he ronly income no wonder she is on food stamps. Being in the reserves is not a FULL TIME job unless you are deployed. And John is right. Everyone in the army gets the G.I. Bill and 100% tuition assistance. Not the Army's fault she is livign her life that way. By the time you read this you have already read it.

spit on? what kind of basic training are you talking about? I was never spit on. Basic and AIT, as tough as they were, I will never forget and never regret. It shaped me into a great person and I met some people who I will stay in contact with the rest of my life. By the time you read this you have already read it.

Thats what I said. I agree totally with your opinion. With all the deployments and troop rotations going on, the kids who signed up to be in the army for college money are not going to re-up. When this mass exodus hits, and not enough people are willing to serve, I can definately see some kind of draft. By the time you read this you have already read it.

hey look, dagimp is one post behind me, and 1 number behind me on the D liscense. cool. As long as your able I think people could do 3 years giving up one weekend a month and 2 weeks a year, if they dropped the time of service for reserves and made it a requirement to serve. But I also agree with working in civil service somehow with the military as an option. By the time you read this you have already read it.

I agree with Crapflinger on the draft part. I support the draft and I also believe everyone should serve, even if it is the reserves. I was ready to go when my unit was called up, personally I had other orders so I did not go, but I was ready. the 391st MP Bn is currently on month 2 of an 18 month deployment in Iraq. With all the deployments Active and Reserve going on I see a MASS EXODUS in the near future of our armed forces. The military is understaffed and needs more americans willing to serve their country.
