  1. More new pups!!! Max 'Power' Smith, Seth Kuttruff, Jeff Klingbell, and Todd Zimmerman: Congrats on the 4-stack awards, off-sets, diamonds, kites, 8-stack awards, cases and cases of owed beer, etc. Thanks Jim 'Razz' Rasmussen for organizing and teaching the class, which was packed full of valuable information, you really do a great job! Thanks to Brian Martin, Jef LaRette, Tim Shue, Annie Jackson, Jay Kedley, 'Hairy' Bob Felt, and Jason Smith for getting in the air with the new pups (thanks to those who lent their canopies too). It was cool to have that great CRW vibe around the DZ and to see that many people doing CRW over East Troy again. Just a teaser for the WI Boogie Aug.13-16th! SkyKnights: you all rock! Thanks for having us and treating us like family! An extra special personal thanks from me to Kermit and Ravin for getting me in the air: Thank you is an understament

  3. "Baby, this little monkey can pack, umm...cram, stuff, ram and pound a parachute into a D bag so fast and furiously you'll end up smoking a cigarette with your rigger!" O.K. you set yourself up for this one: I got from that, that you refer to your parachute as your penis and a D-bag as a duchebag. You are sure to win over the ladies with that one! And calling yourself "little monkey" probably won't help either Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  4. Hey All, Just wanted to get the dates out on this before the CRW calendar fills up. We are doing this once again, for all CRW enthusiasts of all skill levels: Aug.14th-16th at SkyKnights DZ in East Troy, WI. We plan on breaking the current state record of a 14-way during the event. More details will follow in the future, as I keep reminding you to please come and join us! Aug.is a beautiful time of year to be here in WI. Please let me know if you have any questions or plan on attending at: aprilschuldt@gmail.com I will get a list going soon! CRW Skies, April Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  5. Congratulations all of you!!! Didn't doubt for a second you wouldn't get it! You are all such an amazing group with alot of talent. I appreciated the updates. It was nice to be able to keep up on, thanks Tom. Really glad you're alright Sarge, as well as the rest of you! Beautiful pics! YEA Australian CRW! Blue Skies and CRW Love, April Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  6. Hey All, Here are some pics from the FYBOB Jan1-4th in Lk.Wales. If you'd like me to e-mail you any just let me know! I hope all is well with everyone, and we'll see alot of you in Sebastian soon! Blue Skies & Love, April http://www1.snapfish.com/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=278859393/a=101800601_101800601/otsc=SHR/otsi=SALBlink/COBRAND_NAME=snapfish Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  7. Thank you Jason and Viviana for once again throwing one of the best boogies out there! Thanks to all of the DZ members, manifest, organizers, pilots, Medalla, Red Bull, and the countless others who helped and succeeded in making this happen! It was great to see good friends again, meet new ones, and share some very special moments with alot of you. People jumped their asses off in all disciplines. There was some really nice flying done by alot of jumpers. Yeah, I'm CRW biased, and that WS/CRW fly-by was f*cking awesome!!! Great: weather, high-altitude jumps, nightly parties, cutaways, ice sculpting (by Jeff N.), beach jumps, videos, scenery, D.K. swooping his skateboard, and on and on... If you have never been to this boogie you really are missing out. X-treme Divers takes care of us like a family and it never goes unnoticed, and that's why we will be there every year they do it! Sorry if this seems a bit incoherent, but I'm sleep drunk from traveling. I will be posting a link of the photos I took once I go through the 5,000+ I shot!! I'll send anyone shots for the asking, but it just might take me a bit to get the link out. I will put it under a few different forums so they are easy to find. We really disliked having to come back to WI where it is snowing, again, and a balmy 7 degrees. See you all next year, if not sooner, and I will continue to promote this boogie everywhere I go! Thanks again, you guys rock!!! Life is good! Blue Skies and Do CRW!, April Schuldt Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  8. I just moped to my mailbox and my last issue of Skydiving was peeking out the top, nice!! Weird. Sad too. So now I'm gonna get off of here and go read something worthwhile Blues, April Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  9. (In reply to my own depressing post): I'd really like to see this somewhere, so I'm just gonna type it up: "Maybe You've Heard": "Mike Truffer and Sue Clifton win Skydiving Magazine's 'Skydivers of the Year Award'!" Perfect! Thank you Mike and Sue and the rest of the "Skydiving Mag." staff for all you've done for this sport. Words can't express enough gratitude, really. I will not bound to my mailbox through 6 feet of snow, for one of the finest publications to ever reach my home, anymore. This saddens me and the entire Skydiving community as if we've lost one of our best friends. And even my best friends don't show up at my door every month, which is cool with me Best of Luck to you in your new ventures. Blue Skies Always, April Schuldt If there is a torch to pass, please let us/me know. I do not want print to go out with the computer age, not for such a beautiful sport. Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  10. I received this today: "Hi, April -- We have suspended the magazine -- indefinitely. January was our last issue. Mike has been publishing the magazine for about 30 years and I have been here for more than 22 years, so we are both looking forward to exploring new options -- and maybe taking a little down time. It's been nice working with you, April. Thanks for your support. Sincerely, Sue Clifton" Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  11. Just went to Orbitz for Feb.10th - 16th and they offered those prices. Should currently be doing the same. Hope that helps! Good luck. Blue Skies, April Hope to see you there! Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  12. Just got home so I had to write something before my head explodes, kinda like the lady on our flight home who was barfing! Too bad I missed that, as I was sleeping. Keeping this short and sweet is always a challenge for me after such an amazing weekend, so here I go… I wasn’t jumping due to my collarbone not being healed yet, but I was in the warmth of not only the sun, but that of the company I was in. Even when not in the air, although I got to do some cool shit in the Otter, I always continue to learn a ton from the dirt dives, debriefs, and conversations with all of you. I’d like to thank you all for the special moments that make life truly wonderful for me, and embracing one another like a true family always makes me take a step back and enjoy life that much more. The crewbies rocked, Chico got pied for his 3,000, Fedak’s memorial dive was beautiful, Paul Bliss showed up which is always a highlight, there were no injuries, only one chop from misrigging, and diamonds in the sky over Lake Wales was good to see again. How about them Canadians? Gina and Daniel, nice job, and it was an absolute pleasure meeting you! I can’t list all the thank you’s for fear of missing anyone, but I will say that Betty treats us damn good, as always. Sarah kept us well fed, Bryan’s videos were superb, the organizers were great, and Dave Hillebrandt’s docks were “spectacular"! :) I will put a link out of the thousands of shots I took when I’m done sifting through them, which may take a bit, but they are yours for the asking once I post them. We will jump together sometime soon; I look forward to it! This year is off to a great start, let’s keep it going! (And no, "Abbie-normal", I didn’t mean to leave out that the camp was “all about you” haha.) CRW Love and Blue Skies, April P.S. WI sucks right now! We got off the plane in Milwaukee and looked like a couple of Oompa Loompas, since we are nice and tanned! Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  13. Hey All, I finally found my negatives from the CRW camp in Sebastian held 3-27-02 through 4-1-2002! I scanned them in and had to share some of them, as they are absolutely priceless to me! I met a lot of you there, and was snapping shots with my little Canon 35mm. (Jules gets credit for some double diamond shots she took from the plane.) Seems like a long time ago. I’m gonna add a few comments to make you look at these: Mike Lewis you haven’t aged a day since then, Chico I got your reserve landing, Chris Gay’s hair rocks!, Eduardo you are so damn cute, good to see friends we haven’t seen in awhile, and one’s that aren’t here anymore. This was the camp where everyone ponied up to buy Chico a new canopy after it got lost in the swamp. It was very emotional. I was doing RW there (shhh), but that camp got me to start doing CRW when I got back home. Thanks, and I love ya all! 14. One of my favorite quotes from Skydive Radio's Dave Schwartz: "I guess since swooping is the only sport where a grown-ass man can wear capris and not get laughed at, it must be pretty cool." Sorry, couldn't resist. Blue Skies! April Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  15. WI CRW Record: 14-way diamond at SkyKnights in East Troy, WI Aug.17th 2008. Gonna break it again in 2009! CRW Skies! April Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  16. Hey Mike, I grew up in Eau Claire, so after visiting my family, I think I'll come by to hold some strippers smoking joints!
  17. Mike Lewis posted this, and it would really be great to have more of you there! I've added 7 more names to the list, keep it coming! 18. Here's a pic of Todd finishing his pack job with a big grin on his face. Also attaching a pic that Razz snapped of our CRW Memorial dive for Todd. 4stack, planed-up drinking to him on a sunset jump. Razz, me, Jay, and Hairy Bob all gave the appropriate Todd, Todd, Fuck, Todd! Blues, April Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  19. Doherty Lifetime Member of Seven Hills Skydivers, Thank you for playing a huge role in my entire skydiving career. For selling me my first rig, main, and reserve. My Sweethog is in my locker. Your Old Style farts in the plane taught me to not get on the early load...ever! I miss your smiling face and curly locks. As do all that knew you at Seven Hills. You are a huge reason Seven Hills is even there to be my home DZ. I miss your stories and picking me up and spinning me around... I miss you Doherty, and was sad when you weren't at the last club party, because you were always the life of it. Said I'd get my PRO this year, guess I've gotta now, since I spose you won't be helping us on the tight ones anymore... I went up with Razz, Hairy Bob, and Brent and did CRW for you and we gave you the proper Bill, Bill, Fuck, Bill and drank our beers while planed up, in the dark. Supposed to be sunset, but I like to call it night CRW when I'm looking for a strobe to get base pin. You would've been proud. Did it dog style with the Old Style over Seven Hills. I love and will always miss you. I'm glad you are up on the walls of the clubhouse to smile at. I'll have to bring more out from my photo albums. I'm still in shock, what a shitty season. Blue Skies Forever my Dear, Dear Friend, Love, April & the rest of us mourning at Seven Hills, and all who were lucky to know you. Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  20. Second CRW dog I ever met. 9 yrs.ago. He was always especially good to me and Razz. Always. Few pics attached from when we last saw him at a CRW camp at Z-hills. He had really helped Charlie out when he got busted up there. I'm done typing, this year sucks. Blue Skies Fedak, April Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.

  22. Wow, what an amazing weekend! I’ll try to put this in to words the best I can: THANK YOU to everyone that attended the WI CRW Boogie! It was so wonderful to see so many great friends again, meet new friends, learn a ton, get alot accomplished, and have a very special time at a beautiful dropzone! Yes, the WI record was completed over Sky Knights SPC in East Troy Aug.17th 2008. A 14-way Diamond! Nice job you guys!! Along with, geez, I lost track of all the 4-stack, 8-stack, CCR, and CCS awards. It was fun to see the smiles on people’s faces and their hands shaking with pure adrenaline, I loved it! Video from Lyn Hannah, Eric Bernetzke, Tim “Hoochie” Hajewski, and Bob Felt were nice assets for the debriefs, the record, and the death strap dive. I also got to video some beautiful and very well done dives, and had a fantastic time doing it! Special thank you’s go to: Mark Kruse, Jim Rasmussen, Mike Lewis, Eduardo Guillen for organizing the dives and all the valuable information you shared. We are always, always learning in this sport, and I do believe we had the best of the best leading the way. Thank you to the wonderful staff/friends at East Troy who accommodated everyone, and went way out of their way to make it a smooth boogie, and succeeded! Thanks to the pilots, riggers, jumpers, videographers, death strap entertainment fools, massage therapist (Kimmie), manifest, heroes/buddies/rockstars who followed and retrieved gear, those who retrieved the retrievers, the food and beer suppliers, and I could go on and on… All of you who traveled quite a way to make it, thank you for helping make this an awesome boogie!! It was good to see a lot of our dysfunctional family gathered together again, and even better, it keeps growing! Love to you all and Blue Skies Always, April Schuldt I will put a link out soon of the shots I took. Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  23. Got this info. from Sky knights to help clarify (& bump this back to the top, because it's this weekend!!) "Our last email may have been a little confusing, so here is a little more clarification... Boogie Fee. You do NOT have to pay the $25 boogie fee to jump at Sky Knights this weekend. The boogie fee is required if you want to partake in the food and drinks for the whole weekend. Wristbands will be issued to anyone paying the boogie fee. The other option is to pay for each meal separately, without paying the entire boogie fee. For example, if you are only going to be at Sky Knights for dinner on Saturday night, you could pay $6 to eat/drink. Safety First! Hop and Pops. On Saturday and Sunday, there will be NO jumps from 4000 ft. If you want to do a hop and pop, you will need to do it from altitude. We will only be flying loads to full altitude or the available ceiling. DZ Briefing. There will be a DZ briefing on Saturday morning at 8am for anyone who has not jumped at Sky Knights before, or since the beginning of the season. This will cover landing patterns, no landing zones, and other important information. As a reminder, especially given how busy things will be this weekend, only Club Members with a D License and 1000 jumps are allowed to land in the backyard." Blue Skies! Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
  24. Hey All, I got this from Lisa Schieffer @ Sky Knights: (& I added the most recent list.) "As you probably know, this coming weekend, August 15-17, we are having a CRW Boogie at Sky Knights! We have jumpers coming in from around the country to attempt to break the current Wisconsin CRW record. We will be charging a boogie fee to cover the cost of food and beer for the weekend. The fee is $25, which will get you food/drinks for the whole weekend. You can also pay $6 for each lunch/dinner event that you want to attend. Saturday night we will be having night jumps and a Wisconsin BBQ! What makes it a Wisconsin BBQ? Cheese and beer, of course! If you ordered a boogie shirt, they will be available in the office starting on Friday night. A representative from Aerodyne is planning to attend the boogie, so this is your chance to demo their canopies." Mark Kruse - org. Jim Rasmussen - org. 25. Thanks Lynn. Keep writing if it's helping you to get through this, please. Todd was eating a whole apple pie sitting next to me on the couch during the CRW class, so your stories make me smile. I remember the two of you swapping sparklie eyed glances and smiles at each other during the class. It was refreshing. With a mouthful of apple pie he leaned over and asked me if Jim was an IT guy, because he seemed really smart compared to most CRW dawgs. That made me laugh. Last I saw him he was wearing his FEED TODD shirt. Very appropriate
