Spin Spinoff: Are you part of the Roadhead Club?

Proudly yes! -
I guess b/c not everyone is cut-out to be a skydiver. Anyone can allow themselves to be strapped to a tandem master for that once in a life time thrill. Skydivers are a special group and even tho we come from all walks of life, it is still one big family. And just like any family, their are shit bags in this one too, but for the biggest majority they are all wonderful people who I wouldn't hesitate to give my last quarter to. We are a unique group, and if just anyone could be a part of it, then we wouldn't be any different than the rest of the world....

I knew that was coming.... brown noser....

IMHO, until you save your own life, your not a skydiver. Anyone can be a tandem passenger, and it kinda rubs me wrong when I hear of someone referred to as a skydiver when they have only been a tandem passenger. Skydiving to me is very personal and very important. Its a part of who I am, and its a place in life that I truly fit. So what is your opinion and why?

I dont have any ideas, but I think this is so awesome! Way to go! Paying it forward has worked for me and it is something I will always try to do. My pay it forward story is pretty good, so if anyone wants to hear it, PM me and I will tell you! Good luck on finding the lucky recipient.

A few things in my opinion are: Someone who realizes they will never know everything about skydiving, and someone who never gets complacent, complacency kills. Also, someone who is readily willing to take a new jumper under thier wing and help them learn and grow in the sport. Unfortunately, there are not near enough people like this in our sport.

There is no excuse ever for abusing a child! And there is no punishment suitable enough for those who do. Hopefully this precious child will not have any life long effects from this.

Kindergarten kid suspended from school for...
mamajumps replied to BillyVance's topic in Speakers Corner
Did you realize that the school referenced in the original post and news story is *not* a traditional public school? It's a charter school: Parma Community School, run by Constellation Schools, Inc. The dress code is available online. VR/Marg I guess the school systems are different then. Here, charter and magnent schools are a part of the public school system, you just have to apply to attend them. But it doesnt cost anything like a private school does. It's gonna cost me nearly $15,000 grand a year to put my kids in private school, but I think it will be a good thing. Their education is their future and in Florida they don't teach school they just teach for the stupid FCAT, they dont teach school... -

My kids are in public school and have to where a uniform... one reason why Im moving them, its getting ridiculous.... in my county all public schools elementary and middle have to where uniforms. HS does not. Why b/c of the controversial clothes that were being worn. Personally I think this problem is in HS, not the lower grades.... -

For fucks sake... how stupid can the public school system get? Im taking my kids out of public schools starting with next school year. Florida is the worst possible state for kids to be in a public school. I just recently put bright pink highlights in my daughters hair, they are damn lucky they said nothing..... Attached is my beautiful daughter and her wild pink hair..... -

mamajumps replied to ladyflyer77's topic in The Bonfire
My mom was born at 11:50 on Feb 29th. The doctor gave my grandma the option of choosing her Bday, it is March 1.... good thing she did, or my mom would be younger than me... -
http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20080228/ts_afp/irelandbritainhealthoffbeat DUBLIN (AFP) - An Irishman blinded by an explosion two years ago has had his sight restored after doctors inserted his son's tooth in his eye, he said on Wednesday. Bob McNichol, 57, from County Mayo in the west of the country, lost his sight in a freak accident when red-hot liquid aluminium exploded at a re-cycling business in November 2005. "I thought that I was going to be blind for the rest of my life," McNichol told RTE state radio. After doctors in Ireland said there was nothing more they could do, McNichol heard about a miracle operation called Osteo-Odonto-Keratoprosthesis (OOKP) being performed by Dr Christopher Liu at the Sussex Eye Hospital in Brighton in England. The technique, pioneered in Italy in the 1960s, involves creating a support for an artificial cornea from the patient's own tooth and the surrounding bone. The procedure used on McNichol involved his son Robert, 23, donating a tooth, its root and part of the jaw. McNichol's right eye socket was rebuilt, part of the tooth inserted and a lens inserted in a hole drilled in the tooth. The first operation lasted ten hours and the second five hours. "It is pretty heavy going," McNichol said. "There was a 65 percent chance of me getting any sight. "Now I have enough sight for me to get around and I can watch television. I have come out from complete darkness to be able to do simple things," McNichol said.

I just picked up my "new" (used) Wings rig last night. It is a 2002 model and I bought it from a lady who is my height, maybe 20lbs heavier. The harness size fits fine, but when I am tightening the legs straps down, they don't fit form to my legs on the outside just below my hip, the best I can describe it is like a small "v" or tent shape. I don't know if the webbing is just new (the rig has very low jumps)and the webbing is stiff or what. I can adventually get them adjusted properly, but I don't want this to be an issue in the air. Just seeing if anyone else has had experience with this. Last night when I had it on, it was on over sweat pants. Tonight Im gonna put it on with my jumpsuit and see if its any different...

Nah its all about the Thin Mints... can eat my weight in them....

Nope, the only thing that will stop me is when I draw my last breath. I might not be able to jump as much as the majority of people who post here, but the ridiculous gas prices will not be a factor for me... if all else fails I will ride my horse to the DZ!
