Skydiving vs. life priorities

I am highly anticipating the day that I can jump as much and as often as I want too. However, for now I am single mom raising 3 kids and working full time. Every month, I rob peter to pay paul. I havent jumped since August, mostly becuase I can't afford a baby-sitter and afford to go to the dz. One day skydiving will be a major priority in my life. But as badly as I want it to be right now, its not gonna happen. I have even thought about stopping until I can jump all the time on a consistant basis. One day (God only knows when) Skydiving will be the priority in my life, but until then I have to make the best of my current situation. Skydiving is expensive enough without incurring debt, I agree with normiss you should do it with out incurring more debt.... The sky will be there, that is why as much as it breaks my heart, one day it will fit nicely in my life.... -
2-3 times a day is awesome... but in the real world, daily fix is great or multiple daily fixes on the days I get to see my man...

As an EMT, I know that nearly everyone that goes for a ride with us (unless it is just a pure BS call, I have a paper cut, need to go to the ER person) they get an IV. If the situation warrants it, it would only be a time saver, in my opinion... granted there was someone on scene who knew how to start a line....

Well they are kinda old...they need the money for their senior health care expenses. I love AC/DC, but I can't deny it, that is damn funny!!!!

my advice is look until you have something, tell your new employer that you can start in two weeks, then give your notice and just work whatever they give you, knowing that in two weeks it will be over.... good luck!

I am the same way... I live way out in the middle of no where and this helps me a lot. When I feel like being sociable, I go over to a friends or the DZ or whatever. I have just told people that when I am at home, that is "my time" (My boyfriend is excluded from this tho ).

maybe so, but Mulberry isn't found on many maps.... its kinda like polk city, most people who live there are related to their mams's in more than one way, and have borrowed teeth. Thought I'd boost it up a bit by saying Lakeland, it is very close to the line anyway.... -
have to agree with Chile on this one... IMHO, anything more than a handful is a waste....

That was an awesome article!!! I love reading a story where I can visualize what the author is saying. That is one article that needs to be kept around as a very positive kudo in the skydiving world.

the DZ that "appears" to be in Orlando is in fact a skyscam website... Call the number... There are several good DZ's all within 2 hrs of Orlando. Skydive Sebastian is my favorite, Beautiful DZ, awesome people. Zhills is a good DZ There is also Lake Wales, Deland, Palatka (Home of the Hog Flop, one of the greatest boogies ever!) and Skydive Tampa Bay which is technically in Lakeland. I have never jumped at SD Tampa Bay and to the best of my knowledge, they are pretty much a small weekend DZ, but I have heard the vibe there is awesome. My boyfriend lives in Orlando (mostly jumps at Seb), give us a shout when you get into town. -
I am going up later on Friday from Central Florida if anyone needs a ride....

Those pictures break my heart... I pray for fast recovery of all of thos effected by Ike. Growing up in Florida, I had no idea that there were gators in TX. I knew they were in LA, but I thought that was as far west as they lived. Also, my mom in INDIANA was w/o power for over 24 hrs from Ike... That was one nasty storm. Thanks for sharing the pictures...

Im gonna jump it at the Hog Flop, but I like to know what Im getting into. The website that was provided above reccomends a 1.0 to 1.4 loading. I would have to jump a 140 for that and Im just not ready to do that. Hopefully, someone can give me actual advice on it.... (current owner). The website was very helpful, but I am very conservative jumper and want all my bases covered first.... education never hurts...
