The best laugh I have had in sometime now - Thank You. TO ALL I would not be foolish enough to threaten a lawsuit as Jerry does repeatedly and his other threats regarding the media in my area and other such things, but I did seek advise about the outlandish threats repeatedly made by Jerry. Remember that I am located between 4 military bases - and there are many military attorneys in the area. At any rate I did get some information from a friend by which I made the statement to Jerry - "he is not a federal employee and I am not interferring with a federal investigation". Period. I already knew this but wanted verification. I also have never threaten nor have I been coercive and abusive. I have tried to be polite and courteous, but everyone has limitations...hence I finally did a bad thing by mentioning his spelling and grammar. Your post was just sent to the friend. I suggest you back off and stay back with your accusations. You have NO judication in this case - you are not a federal employee. If you are then you need to identify yourself as such. I am not interferring with any investigation........I have nothing to do with a federal investigation. I will address your issues in the post at a later date. First - let me address the post you made per a conversation you had with Jerry Thomas. I sent that post to the friend of Duane. As for having other threads, you know that the first 2 (101 and Unsolved Mysteries) I was only able to communicate and tell what I did know - there was NO knowledge to be extracted. The first thread with DZ was closed and somehow this one has mangaged to survive long enough for me to learn many things about the actual jumping expertise needed. Not for a book - but to reassure myself about all of this. The studies on the money find and the water flow and flight path - I got the gest of, but they went far over my head. I suggest if you think someone is gleaning information you need to talk to the TV script writers. They have on several occassions used material taken from this thread - sometimes just a phrase - such as one used about compromised DNA on one program. Perhaps these writers think I am dumb and this thread as a whole is so ever consuming that we never watch TV. If I was trying to do anything other than find the truth - my time and research would not have been in a public DZ forum, but I felt it was the right thing to do - go where the guys are who do this thing everyday. Now the thread has been so consumed with Trivia and unrelated subject matter and controversary unrelated to the actual crime - it is no longer productive time spent. There was absolutely NO excuse for all of the time and space that has been wasted bickering and my having to defend myself. I offered up 2 other subjects when I was reworking the old files and not one nibble. These were legitimate leads from people who were afraid to go to the FBI...and afraid to face the end results of coming forward with information. Deflamation, discreditation, loss of income, accusations of being called a liar, emotional deprivation and consumption of time one could spend just enjoying life are among the things I have dealt with over the last 9 yrs. If you have been fortunate enough to have a successful marriage - would you want your wife subjected to what you and others who need not be named have dished out to me? What I have experience is WHY others did not come forward over the yrs and the FBI needs to wake up to this fact. Others knew information, but feared implications by the FBI and so they lied even when questioned. It was easier - socially, economically and health wise. Would you have admitted you had knowledge of this crime if it was your spouse? One certain individual whose past may not have been lilly white confined in a relative who told her she could be convicted as an accessory just because she benefited from some of the proceeds after the fact. She chose NOT to come forward. Another was fearful of the social stigma even yrs later when confronted about a loved one and what she knew....but chose and begged that the truth remain in the past. That makes 2 I know about. These young FBI agents know nothing about human emotions and principles from the yrs of the crime. They are unaware of the fears projected by real life TV programs. Sluggo stated: After 2 attempts - one with the Navy and another with the Army and then Duane ending up in McNeil - the family arranged for Duane to be in a camp through a family friend hoping to get him straightened out. This was told to me in a conversation by the brother. Also when we were in Tahoe - Duane talked about the mountains and pointed to a road going up the other side of Lake Tahoe. Duane told me about living at a location that I verified really does exist. Duane had shown me a picture similar to one posted in this forum regarding CPS in the same area. He stated he knew these guys. Through this forum I learned 3 of the guys went on to become smokejumpers in the Mt Hood area of Or. The picture shown to me yrs ago was of this same group posted by Snowmman, but the picture I had orginally seen in the 1980's showed more of the truck. We have looked high and low for the book this might have been published in - because Duane stated there used to be a picture of him in the book, but someone had cut it out. Duane NEVER showed me the front of that book and what he showed me is ALL I saw. Snowmman has made miracles before - I contacted the Jon Harder who had posted the CPS pic on Wikipedia where Snow obtained it, but Jon Harder (son of Leo Harder) never responded nor did the site. The book this would have orginally been published in had to be in the 50's 60's or 70's and would may have been an area specific book. My guys and I have search high and low - the guy in Ca. has gone to the archives, but it is not the same as my seeing it (I cannot describe what I am looking for when the picture is inside of my memory). This book was not real thick and it was small. But it was about Smokejumpers and CPS and had pictures in it taken by that same photographer - because the picture of Carl Unruh was the same and the group was very close - just showing more of the truck. There may have been a picture in the book showing more of the truck. I never saw the outside of this book. The pictures in the book would date from 1944 to 1947. Sorry to bore you with this - but any assistance anyone can provide will be appreciated - you can PM me about it. Okay I am looking at the signatures and I found 3 that appear to be right handed signatures of Duane L. Weber. The first one is a service registration card #12,035-A with a serial number of 91-A for U.S. Maritime Commission. The Birthdate is given as 6/18/22 . Not Duane's handwriting as I knew it, but appears to be his handwriting. Also note that the birthdate is false - Duane was only 17 and was born in 1924. Item 2 is an Armed forces Induction Station #4 Dated Mar 31, 1943. Stamped # 35608905. but it only has his name written on it and matches the handwriting on the 1942 item. This did not require a signature, - two branches of the military and both having Duane Weber in the same handwriting. This item states he is being sent to Fort Hayes, Ohio. The Navy records provided by Uncle Sam also have that SAME signature dated June 18, 1941 on the papers Duane had to sign before a Earl v. Sherman Lietu-Comdr., U.S. Navy Officer-in-Charge USNRS Cleveland Ohio and also has the man's signature as administrating the oath. After reviewing these signatures and other signatures down thru the yrs - I believe they are ALL signatures of Duane L. Weber. As time goes along in life we become somewhat relaxed with our handwriting. In the 30's when Duane was taught penmanship you basically were required to turn the paper so the script was more acceptable. This rule of conformity became un-acceptable in later yrs. I have a brother and a sister who are left handed - one continues to turn the paper and twist the hand to make the writing look more normal - the other just writes and could care less if anyone thinks it is slanted the wrong way. They are all signatures of Duane L. Weber...at least I think so. The reason I keep asking about Camp Sibert is because some information I received stated - "Smoking" as one of the training courses and with no other words associated with it. That is why I asked about Smoking. I agree with your findings that Camp Sibert had little or nothing to do with Cooper (just wanted to know what 'Smoking' meant on that site). Since Camp Sibert was into a lot of strange things - maybe they had something to do with the slant of Duane's handwriting change. Now you know I am just laughing with you - this is NOT making fun or putting anyone down. If I had been the one to make this observation the guys would be Hee Hawing me and calling me dislusional - seeing Duane in the clouds. Everyone including myself should be able to speculate and look at things a different way...this is how investigator solve crimes - they have to go out on a limb. On first observation the handwriting does indeed look different - but, the same. When you keep looking at it and have many more signatures to compare it with...your view of the signature changes and resolves itself. Ouch! I’ve spent a lot of time working on Jo’s claims without compensation (more than she is aware of, (based on one of last night’s posts). I was in the process of making a post (reply to Jo) about how unbelievably ego-centric and non-analytical she is. While I was going through my “Sibert” research I noticed something that threw me for a loop. To All: I am just using Sluggo's response to make a significant post of my own. When I try to pull this forum away from Weber - you guys are the very ones that make it about Weber. Yes, Sluggo came to my home and he spent some time investigating Duane and I believe he has also researched other subjects. He is not the only one who has devoted time and resources to this. One is a man who came to see me many many yrs ago. He has done a tremendous amount of research - physical and thru other research. He has visited the CPS areas and research libraries in several states. He has read multiple very hard to find books. He has gone to county records in Ca and Mo. His time invested and monies spent far out weight what Sluggo has done. He has interviewed several individuals regarding Cooper and made trips to WA and MO. Sluggo's research is more into the analytical end. Sluggo's personality is "soft" and has a tendancy to wear his feelings on his shoulders. This is good, but to deal with my personality - it is a problem. I rate Sluggo as a genius. His work is superior - but he cannot get over my abrupt personality - my dogmatic drive for the truth. This puts both of us on the offensive and we can't seem to get past that. I just wish Sluggo would NOT take the things I say so personal, because he does keep his facts straight and he is a good record keeper. There are 2 women involved in this research. One of these women had a completely different agenda when she contacted me. I do not believe her agenda has changed but we have become friends...her expertise is also research and this is how I found out about the Uncle NO ONE even talked about in Duane's family. She is now researching some property I asked about - but is currently tied up in another project. What she does for me is on the side and without compensation. She has come to NO conclusions about Weber/Cooper, but wants to help me to find resolutions that make sense...to me and to others. Good or Bad - it make NO difference as long as the data can be confirmed. The other woman only came on board recently per chance. I was calling an area trying to find something from the past - in a place Duane took me and regarding a story Duane told me in regards to that area. I had been on the phone all day and just gave up. Then I get a phone call from a young lady who identified herself as the daughter of one of the women I had spoke to early. She has an expertise I need - I offered to pay her, but she refused - because the area I wanted searched is one of her passions and one in which she excels. She has already sent me lots of information, but now I need to make a trip to that location and see with my eyes and my memories of the past - if any of it is connected...it has involved a lot of military research. There is the young man in OR who has went to the area to look for Duane's route - the one who sent me the map - and the map I was viewing upside down at 3AM on morning before I put it in an envelope to seal it - and realized I had gone up that hill and got turned around - everything I had remembered was right there - changing the directions - was the ONLY reason the pieces did fit. Last and absolutely one of the most important - is the young man who I have communicated with also for yrs. He has spent an enourmous amount of his time and resources because he believes Duane was Cooper. This young man I also classify in the Sluggo class - a genius, but he seemed able to deal a little more easily with this cause driven personality of mine. This young man spent a lot of time talking to me in person, listening to me and emailing me and visiting with me. He is a remarkable young man who may be the one who finds the clues and the answers. On a final note to 377 - I believe who asl me about the "22 hours of interogation". Let me explain what I mean by that. Interogation is NOT the right word. We were pushed for time - his time. On the first day we talked for 9 hours, but the next day we went from 9AM that morning to 4PM the next morning. We took some breaks, but my age and health just did NOT want to co-operate with us. Toward the latter parts of the interview - he was having to prompt me because I was exhausted. This was sorely due to time constraints and not planned...but, perhaps this extended interview will provide information not digested before. Why I compared it to an interrogation is what I see on TV when they keep a person going for hours and hours asking the same questions - their story starts to fall apart. I was so tired I couldn't remember what I had just said or what the question was - he was having to prompt me - but, we finally did finish. We licked the icing off the cake, but also made a few slices into the cake before we ran out of time. I knew it was time for me to tell as much as I could - because by the time the truth is known or acknowledged I won't be here to set individuals like Jerry Thomas, Georger and others who get their details regarding Weber all screwed up. I won't be here to set the lies straight so I want as much as possible to be documented regarding what I have maintained and claimed and screamed and cried - the things I have pleaded with the FBI to investigate. The things the FBI has told me - and what they didn't tell me....I want it documented so it cannot be twisted or misused or made to disappear. Hopefully ALL of these individuals one day will be able to sit down with their films, recordings, documents, emails, and any other materials and come to a conclusion along with any possible evidence and OPEN FBI files and findings - to discuss Cooper/Weber. I am making sure that they will all be provided with the contact information of the others - the only one that is not current is Sluggo's. The written material, copies of photos, research material I own will be shared (collectively) with named indidivuals, but remain as personal property belonging to my children upon my death. I am hoping for a conclusion while I am still here - but, only God will make that decision. Now to take a moment to RESPECTFULLY ask those who repeat information (such as the conversation with a friend of Duane's) to visually see and verbally hear a recording of something purportedly said or written by me. With each a date will need to be provided...as I have chased the theories just like everyone else, but I usually go back to the basics.... Jo Asks - what document was that 1st signature on - I have looked thru the documents and can't find it. That one is definitely NOT the signature of Duane L. Weber. Georger stated: I also know, Duane's friend at Marietta GA was interviewed and said Duane never claimed to be Cooper. This man knew and worked with Duane for years and was one of Duane's closest friends. This man was very clear about Duane's marraige to Jo and cited comments Duane made about that. Jo States: This friend did not meet Duane until 1973 and Duane did not discuss Cooper with him. This person has NOT discussed my marriage to Duane - and nothing about the marriage was negative. Duane's marriage to another person may have been discussed - but please do NOT confuse me with the woman he was married to from 1972 until 1977. That marriage was not good for either party..... I met this friend and his wife on several occassions and have continued a friendship by Christmas cards and an occassional phone calls over the yrs. This person Knows that basically Duane and I had a good marriage for the most part until he struggled to adapt to the kidney machine in 1990. He was finally able to work his way thru this period only lasting a couple of months. Jo States: This is a TOTAL lie. The friend did not know of any jumping background for Duane. I never ever mentioned the horrible allegations you are stating. I did not let my associates know what I was struggling thru. You Georger or your source are REALLY pushing the limit. I expect Mr. Thomas will be facing a lawsuit from this friend of Duane's - I am the only reason this has not happened but these allegations and untruth are way too much. 377 STATED: We (my guys) have explored all of the opportunities that might tie into Duane according to what we have been about to piece together about him. Do you guys NOT do that with the other suspects. Remember - Carr told me to put him in a chute. So we started with the High Sierras of Ca. that he talked about when we were in Tahoe which encompassed the Camio and Snowline areas of CA in a program that involved CPS's and young first time offenders (a program in Ca that also worked with McNeil in respect to young 1st time offenders. Some of these guys went on to be smokejumpers. Next we move on into those unknown yrs 1945 - 1948 - the very yrs we believe the exposure to Smoke Jumpers occurred. Then he goes to San Quentin and Folsom (I really did see that picture - and hope someday it will show up again). There was a program at One of the above prison that allowed the man to participate in programs that would help them find work after getting out. Duane took LOTS of courses and in 1957 may have participated in an unusual program. 1957 - 1960 are of interest, but the FBI does not fill them - but we found some real interesting information about 2 of those yrs. but can't tell you what we found. In 1960 he is in El Paso and El Capitan - and ends up in Canon City...but he gets out of there very quickly - being seen by his nephew in Miami at the Fontane Blue prior to his release from said prison???? Canon is where that strange photo is taken - an odd photo for a prison. A profession photo??? All dressed up and no place to go. 1962 - 1968 he lives his life as John Collins or does he. He is in KS, NE,OK, AZ, CA, WA, CO, LA, MO, OH,AL, FL, GA, S.C. and then back to GA. I have only recently been able to fill in a lot of the blanks in those yrs and he was off and gone most of the time. Those yrs are full of connections and some of them were not good. From 1968 till 1971 - tagging children along they moved 6 or 7 times.....Those poor children! AH yes, Sluggo we have also been very busy. He also speaks about his brother John being sent there before he goes over. I noted Georger's post where again he tries to make a perfectly healthy man come across as being very sick. Perhaps someone can show me where I posted those prison files or perhaps GEORGER can explain WHERE he got them. P.S. Perhaps you might find it interesting that I was told that Duane's uncle developed or helped develope chemical warfare during that time period. I have not been able to verify this. This same Uncle went on to be chemist with Sherwin Williams in Chicago. He was in both WW1 and WW11. Also a point of interest - [BLUE]this service connection for Duane was DENIED by the FBI in 2000[/BLUE]. I was in possession of the letter signed by him written from the base. His name was there with his serial number and signed with his nickname Dusty.. This was told to me by Agent Ralph Hope and in that same conversation he tells me that Duane was NEVER in McNeil and I am holding government documentation. You still think I should not feel resentment regarding the FBI. This same agent was the one who sent me a letter stating that Duane had been investigated - letter dated 1998. People have been a little unkind lately Jo but you never examine why. You are the reason. You tease tease tease causing otherwise kind people get fed up and pissed off. It's really that simple. Note - a family member begging for the past to be left in the past is not an admission this person knew Weber was Cooper. The FBI lieing to me is proof of a cover-up or incompetitence. The concealment of the activities of Duane Weber is completely uncalled for - on the part of the FBI. If they had one piece of evidence Duane was NOT Cooper it should have been presented, but they could Present NO such Proof. Yet, the likes of Jerry Thomas can come to this forum and say horrible things about me claiming the FBI has given HIM proof of such - come on give me a break. Everyone the FBI talked to I have spoke to - over the yrs and recently - NOT one of them claimed Weber was with them. Why? I would have asked for verification? Did the FBI? NO. The FBI did not verify nor ask for proof of this claim if indeed it was made...because if they did - they would never have done the DNA or the fingerprints. Although I heavily discount conspiracy theories, this isnt the first time a big dollar migration away from a Microsoft product has caused a major blow up. Ditto for that - he is an excellent writer. I do believe his book will HIT on several subjects - and I believe it will be objective. Not one of you commented on the Mercenaries - therefore I assume Jerry spoke for ALL of you. Too, bad. Like I said I am cleaning house - running into lots of old things I just pushed aside. WELL, did you see the National News tonight? I usually only watch the Local News and I seldom watch TV because of the reception using only an antennae. "Contractors" & "Operators" made National News long with "Mercenaries". You all know as I have known - this illegal government practice has been going on for yrs..... Do anyone of you think I am able to see into the future or the past! This happened before and it is still happening. Because of the communication levels which exists today, the government could not make the death of the 2 individuals (Mercenaries) quiet the way they did in the 50's and 60's. Wake-up! How does one STUPID woman have any knowledge of these things? Do anyone of you think I am bright enough to make this stuff up? Come on - gimme a break - I stumbled into what existed yrs and yrs ago - because what I did know just didn't fit what is supposed to be known. Yes, 377 I believe you may know who Cooper really was before all is said and done. Perhaps Gray has some insight as to what is going on - maybe that is why his publication date is being pushed back. Until this "stuff" made the News tonight I had NO knowledge of the recent Contractor and Mercenary information in our current military actions as I make a point not to read about the current WAR and military actions (they upset me). Ok, you all are on track again - now I am going to share with you something I have. In a 3003 contact from a man, I was told somethings I still do not understand. The call regarded a woman in a similar circumstance as myself...by a 3rd party. My notes are sketchy, but here goes what I do have. March 9 2003 Notes state: Nurse and Hosp. McCoy - Travis Air Force Base Wound (assuming this meant he had an injury and was in the hosp). This woman's husband was in the hosp with McCoy. I don't understand my notes and they do NOT match another communication with the third party. Statements made at that time indicated this widow thought her husband was Cooper. Maybe if I think about it I can remember more and find more notes on this as I go thur my reduction process (the files got to large - house cleaning the Cooper files). I have another contact who I have talked to over the yrs that claimed a Brigham Young connection - he also claimed Duane and McCoy knew each other, but his story never made sense. The FBI did investigate this man and his story. He was always adamant that a Brigham Young medalion was left on the plane, but as we know that does not seem to be the case. There was a thread within his story that was believable, but because of "things" within his story I knew to be "fiction" and was able to prove so...I also discounted "his story", but there is something within it that does draw me back to it on occassion. I think what draws me back is something he told me about Duane - but, then he discredits himself by telling me something else at a different time. His story is more convoluted than my own - such as the FBI did not kill McCoy - and that McCoy was still alive until a few yrs ago. Claimed McCoy called him many time since and sent me pictures of individuals he claimed to be McCoy. It was after I mentioned the "Gunn" (an old friend of Duanes) that he invented one of his own. When I would tell him something he invented his own similar character. I kept very good records on this man - he also claimed the Mkultra connections. His story indicates contact with Duane before and after the hijacking when he tells me that Duane left the Brigham Young Medallion (which according to the FBI does not exist) to get even with McCoy. Claimed an involvement between Duane and the wife of McCoy. This man did NOT pass the JO truth test. I would email him and put deliberate lies within. I would then email a copy to a respected journalist who knew my story well - (he knew what was NOT true "the bait" I used to see if more would be added to his story). This is where I say "and Hence the one legged man was born" (that is my way of stating the story grew and grew and grew). PS There actually was a one legged man in Duane's past, but not related to Cooper. Please understand - "and Hence the One Legged man was Born" - Say that out loud to yourself - One is not usually born with one leg.

Did you read post I just made above. By the time I finished it there were 3 posts already. NO I have NOT changed my mind - but there are others who knew who Cooper was. If you guys want more suspects to investigate - I am sure I can go thru my files and find more for you. That was not the only person who called me with a story...after all they know they will not be heard by the FBI. I posted the one I did because it is still going on today. I know one woman confided in a friend about what she suspected in regards to her husband, but it fell on the skirts of what Weber said in 1995 and my going public in 2000. I would presume having knowledge of what I have been thur gave cause for second thoughts, but I would love to meet this woman because these 2 men could somehow be connected. I did explain this to her representative. The actions of ONE poster can cause this thread to POOF and he is very aware of this. I have something to say before that happens - we may have put Weber in a chute. This was found in some OLD records and if it is true - the FBI has known about it for some time. This information was shared only with "select" individuals, but I have been expecting exactly what is happening in the thread for some time. A lot of people hide behind those avatars - and unbeknown to us - they are very clever writers and investigators masquerading as Cooper buffs. There may still be some reason to cover-up the identity of Cooper and control information made public. The best way to do that is "manage" the thread in-order to have it self-destruct on command.... Things have not been moving as fast as expected - because the research is mostly volunteer it has to be sandwiched amongest what they do for a living. It is being done. Much more has been found than the FBI ever admitted...now we know some secrets no one ever told. One I found today - something I already knew but didn't know the link. This is what is consistently happening. I had it, but didn't have the link..... Thank you for your indulgence due to the lenght of this post, but I felt it was necessary to do at this time - because more time is something you can never count on. Who was Dan Cooper? Tosaw, 84, son of Anastasia Dunn and Walter Tosaw, died in his sleep of cancer. Richard moved to Oregon after a long residence in Modesto, Calif. Mr. Tosaw was born in Lincoln, Neb. He spent his boyhood years in Nebraska and Minnesota, graduated from Central High in Omaha, Neb., and served as a signalman for the U.S. Coast Guard. He received his law degree in 1951. Served five years in the Seattle and San Francisco offices of the FBI. He opened a private law practice and founded The Bureau of Missing Heirs, Inc., specializing in escheat law. Richard authored five California laws and two books. He is survived and loved by two sisters, Helen McCleskey of King City and Dorothy Thomson of Wickenberg, Ariz. "Uncle Dick" will be missed by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. We as a group offer our condolences to his family and apologize for the rude insensitive individual who made those atrocious posts. Georger, I apologize for these jerks. I did not know Tosaw personally but we spoke a few times on the phone. He had his days - he could be nice and then cross as a bear. The person who emailed me simply said he had die and his age - no more. We do NOT get WA news here in the deep South so I have no way of knowing.
