I know - just know in my heart of hearts there was something linking Green Mountain with Duane Weber. Remember when JT ignored this little mountain or hill. He even ignored it after I made my trip in 2010 and I actually found it. From 1997 until 2001 - I told him over and over about this little mountain and he kept telling me I was in OR and not WA. THEN I found the damn place in 2010 and you will NOTE JT left the building. Bruce was with me and he knows I saw the rocks at the entry - it was raining cats and dogs. We drove on around and then on to the East side of this "hill" and I went to a door of a house in the woods with the rain pouring down and spoke to a woman - she said it was exactly as I had described looking in 1979. She said there was a building up there when I spoke to her in 2010 and the trees cleared and there was now a signal tower there. Hence probably why it was no longer referenced as Green Mountain (I thought that a strange name for a big big hill). There is a Green Mountain up near Lake Merwin - so why was there at one time 2 Green Mountains? Both are specifically named on the old maps. I want to see pictures of that little Green Mountain taken around 1979 - you will see the wooden gate and the wire fence. the boulders and the old what looked like tall dead trees in Sept of 1979. There was no building there in 1979. Duane focused on this and then when we went North of the area - he turns and goes back to the 500 area and goes as far as the Green Mountain Airport. It was NOT too far West of there Duane mentioned someone leaving a car near an airstrip and a field used for jumping. TIME and SPACE - it was all there - even with all of the changes I could still see it the WAY it looked in 1979. The images are burned into my brain. If there was someone who had pictures from 1979 of these areas and multiple pictures of other places that just looked similar - I could PICK them out. It is engraved in my memory. I guess that just makes me sound crazy, but I have been called worse. WHY did this place mean SO MUCH to Weber? Had to be a reason. Why did he know were every tower was and every airstrip? He was definitely in the area and KNEW it very very well, but the FBI has NOT tried to put Weber in WA at any time (other than the brief denial he was in McNeil and the correction made to the FBI agent's mistaken words)- nor do they want to. WHY? I know nothing about towers or signal communications other than what you guys have told me and the comments made by Weber. I have never been any place these things could be discussed by individuals who would know except the DZ and Weber. I realize you guys are tired of hearing it, but since it is just my needing to know at least it is not like Blevins continued misguided and deliberate contoctions. I want answers - how did Weber know the area, how long was he there and what did he do beside the few wks he was processed at McNeil before being sent to where-ever? There are footprints and those footprints are between Spokane and Coure'd Alene. I know this with all of my heart and my soul. Find his footprints and you will know who Cooper was. IF it was NOT Duane Weber than it was someone Duane knew who trusted him with his life.... Just call me Crazy, but this is more than just my gut and NO I am NOT delusional or off my rocker or looking for one moment of fame or for money. If that was what I was after I could have done what Blevins and others have done - it was offered to me, but I chose the hard road and to search for Truths! All I have done is sign a worthless piece of paper I hope will protect the story I have told over the last 17 yrs and keep individuals seeking profits from twisting what I have told this thread and others for yrs and yrs. Scott, I thought it best to repeat your post in its entirety. I know why Blevins missed it - because you buried it within the story, which means he didn't read it. I expect he rarely reads the posts unless they are directed to him. (Pausible there could have been more than 1).It was not something I read or something Duane mentioned, just based on his knowledge of communications not only by CB, but planes. He spoke often of knowing an individual who worked in this capacity at the Atlanta Airport. Airport Communications where mentioned other times in our marriage. He referenced all of the small airstrips in WA. even if you could not see them. There are and were actual strips per the old maps in every location he told me about. Book writers are concerned about SELLING the book - not about the accuracies of their information. 3. My concensus is to many writers take too many literary liberaties - something that should never be allowed regarding crimes. 4. The talk shows - most of you have NO idea what actually goes on when it is filmed and then edited. 5. The live interviews end up arguing just as we do. 6. The DZ did create a place and a medium where we can talk and argue and debate facts and theories and fiction and any other thing we want to discuss about this crime. Every time the thread moved in the direction of progress on a subject - Blevins would come back promoting his book. Blevins was unaware of the thread when he started the book. In the beginning we tried to help because he had the essential facts so screwed up it was horrific. Then he does not acknowledge the DZ in his book - do you know why? I would like to see more of what Georger has to say and MeyerLouie - knowledgeable but not a know it all and seem to be able to separate fiction from reality. His posts were inquistive, intelligent and reasonable - but, Blevins would NOT let him carry on any conversation without breaking. Finally MeyerLouie got tire of it and confronted him. Did I NOT ask in a very NICE way for you to leave me alone? YOU do NOT know the COMPLETE story of my plight. I could have done the Blevins thing, but I chose to research and research and try to find what I needed and I will continue to do that, but I do NOT need to spend my time being BLASTED by the likes of you. I did not claim a perfect stranger was Cooper. I will add things to the conversations because I have been in the middle of this now for 18 yrs - how many yrs have you been researching and seeking the truths? I occasionally will ask for help like the names that someone mentioned that Weber had used. WHY do I need this - so I can get the OFFICIAL enquiries off to all of the New Papers and legal records in each of the locations. Only working Spokane to Coure'd Alene and I will repeat this again: I believe the key to the past of Weber and his connections to Cooper lie there-in (will they prove he was Cooper - NO, but they sure will help the ODDS). Blevins was out there fabricating information and I am LOOKING for information! BIG difference! NO ONE will ever prove who Cooper was until someone reveals something out of the past could give the FBI cause to look where they never looked before. The FBI has openingly admitted they do NOT know if they have Cooper's prints or his DNA. What DNA they have is very incomplete and the prints they have NO idea who they belonged to. Maybe Cooper, maybe someone who helped build the plane or a mechanic who worked on the plan or cleaned the plane - THEY do not know whose prints they have. Cooper was VERY careful with his prints. He retrived his note and he was careful NOT to handle things. The story about a magazine - well, not one of the stews ever backed that up. NO one actually saw Cooper pickup a magazine and if he did he probably took it with him. If Cooper had a record or was at any time ever fingerprinted for any reason - he damn sure was not going to leave prints. Frankly I believe the Crew needs to re-assembled one last time and asked about what was recorded in their original interviews with the FBI and with a TV program done 10 yrs later. This should NOT be a public affair, but a private meeting with all of them present and to review previous testimony they made - NOT what the public has claimed they said. In fact it should be a RULE the interviewer could NOT ask anything outside of the actual verbage of the original in 1971. The crew will have different rules! They can asked the authorities or question the authorities about any statement the authorities claim the witness made. Each interview will be done separately and then with the crew together. Time this was done, but how does on intrude in on their privacy after all of these yrs under a microscope? This is the major problem with this case now. TOO many people think THEY know all the witnesses told the FBI and ALL of the suspects the FBI had. The files are incomplete because they are so massive....and the government is so strapped they can not hire analyst who know the case to do this. Therefore it has been dumped onto the public without access to the complete files. Easy way out - photo and copy every document in their archives and information on every suspect and the exact prodecures taken to eliminate any one suspect. This should include all communication regarding any suspect. NOTHING should be held back - NOTHING! Did Tina see Cooper putting something on his shoes? What was the last things she saw Cooper do? Neither Stew will ever forget the reaction of Cooper when the MONEY actually arrived. He was elated to the point of being Giddy. THAT is NOT the reaction of a man who ACTUALLY believed he was going to pull the crime off. He had one more problem - and we know that to be surviving the jump. I have spoke with Lyle on more than one occasion since I knew he existed when the story first was made public by Porteous. I do not remember the details right now because I don't feel well. Lyle had seen something on TV and thought maybe his brother could have been Cooper. He did not go to the FBI, but contracted a movie producer and then the story grew out of that. Somehow Lyle's letter to the producer ended up on the desk of Porteous. Porteous puts out feelers regarding KC and before you know it Blevins was in the act. I believe Blevins may have been looking for a long time for a COOPER story to latch on to and Lyle was an easy target. The FBI had dismissed KC before Blevins was involved or shortly thereafter. Blevins was wrong in NOT doing his research the way it should have been done. He used up a lot of valuable time and space on this thread - basically promoting his book. Anyone can have theories or ideas - but, Blevins was NOT here for the purpose of research. It was evident from the beginning he was here to sell KC and his book. I have been here to learn and I have learned a lot. It took you guys a long time to nail Blevins. Do not use this post to attack me - I have had enough of that over the yrs. Through out all of my search it aways takes me back to WA and why the FBI ignored or did NOT make Duane's history in WA/ID/OR available to me? Why did they not give any history for Weber under his AK of John Collins? A simple letter dismissing Duane because of fingerprints was NOT adequate and it still is not adequate. Too tired to continue this tonight. Just going to mark where I am stopping and not give the details just look for something that stands out. Sept 1999 is when I first contacted Salt Lake City. Last quarter of 1999 I am concentrating on Fort Benning. And I establish a connection with the ex-wife in CA. This is when the journals come into play. She was afraid of the FBI and she was afraid of ME. This would be the start of a relationship up until she died. Feb of 2000 things start going crazy. So many phone calls and so little time. I had papers in my hands the FBI had NOT told me about. Information they disclaimed. I am making calls to verify the information. Washington DC, Colorado, Texas, Reno, Something is wrong. This is when the CRAP it the fan. Trout Lake, Tocoma, Washougal, and more places in California. Kent, WA and Beaverton OR - lots more calls to Wa. Battleground, WA. and of course Woodburn, Or. Where in the hell is Orchards, WA. More to Orchards. These are NOT short calls - even Vancouver BC, Bentonville, AZ and Odessa TX Well, that took us to Jan of 2001 so Bremerton did NOT show up unless it is on one of the exchanges I listed above. It was at that time I went to unlimited long distance....and no more itemized phone bills. Don't even ask me about my phone bill - it was more than my house payment....and months it just did not fit the budget, but I just did without other things. The basic was less than $15.00 so you guys figure it out. Blevins has absolutely nothing on me in costs and time - yet, he went out there and wrote a damn book of fiction....about someone who did not have a chance in hell of being Cooper. March of 1997 the FBI is doing NOTHING and I have $60 to $100 phone bills every month. I launch my own investigation. I make my 1st phone call to Kansas to Pyramid Life Insurance...just a secretary! I keep calling other places and the FBI and Himmelsbach - no one cares. Multiple calls to Seattle 2 or 3 minutes so all I am getting is a message center - on my nickel. I am making calls to Santa Barbara CA - have NO ideal who to. Lots of them, but short calls. I continue to call Seattle on my nickel - I don't have an 800 number for them. Now this is one I do not remember - Canby, Or. I have no idea. Now it is Oct of 1997 and I make contacts in Kansas City, Queens N.Y. of course all of the other places. In December I rack up calls to Mn - have no idea who. March of 1998 - since the FBI is doing nothing I am aware of I call Miami - old contacts I was aware Duane made, but get no where...but when I get the notes you will know there was just a little more to this. At this point my resources are people Duane used to know and the FBI. I have no computer and very little search resources. I am waiting for the FBI to do their thing. Well, we know what happened there because I get a letter from them in mid 1998. They did NOT come here to talk to me or the man who bought the car until May of 1997 and then after a few months in 1998 I get that letter DISMISSING Duane based ONLY on finger prints. NOTHING else. Pretty quick dismissal if you ask me and most of those 500 pages someone mentioned are copies of things I sent them and transcripts of phone calls I made. Most of those 500 pages are information they got from me and from Doug and the criminal files. The tax files alone of 10 yrs are over 130 pages counting copies of the W2's. Then all of the other stuff the FBI made copies of - and then returned to me. I am fed up with the FBI about then and I start to talk to an old employer of Duane's who had been contacting about doing a story, but I had resisted. Evidently this is about the time my resistance was breaking down. After all was said and done I was the one who WALKED because I did NOT have enough and I was trying to accept what the FBI had told me...but that was NOT easy. It is obvious I am not giving up...but not calling the FBI. I am doing my own investigation. Many many calls to Missoula, MT. If I remember correctly that was to an archive and for forestry and smoke jumpers and then MY first phone call to Jefferson. Now for some reason I am calling Eugene OR. Again I think perhaps that is my pursueing the forestry and smoke jumping thing. Springfield, Or enters the picture but only my note will clarify the reason for these call and who they are to. My first phone calls regarding Cooper where to the Portland, Or FBI - don't know why? May 24 at 11:20 PM and then at 11:51 PM. There was a third one at 12:24 AM on the 25th 1996. Every few pages screamed at me and I screamed back. That was the night I was reading Max Gunther's book. The lights went on, but they were beacon lights to 17 yrs of HELL! Or is it 18 now? I have lost count. On the 25th I call Duane's brother John in CA. May 28 and 29 contact FBI again - All on my NICKLE! I The first time I spoke with Seattle was in July 8 on my nickel so maybe the Seattle office never got my first phone calls - you think? They were made to Portland FBI In Jul there are calls to Redmond OR - Was that were Ralph lived in 1996? That was a long and expensive phone call for me. There are some phone calls I think I made to numbers in Duane's old address book. Sept 10 1996 I make my first contact with Max Gunther - a 60 minutes call....then the furry keep going and going and Max and I exchange many phone calls. I do not know if Max contacted Himmelsbach, but neither liked each other. I make many calls trying to find Duane's ex-wife in CA. I found the damn phone bills so I guess I will go to bed with them and with a highlighter. I knew they had to be here because I remembered going thur them for something I was looking for and I was right. I have them all the way back to 1996 before I called the FBI. Anything before that was just personal stuff and it is still just personal stuff because NO one believes what I believe, but I am the one who has lived this life and who knew Weber. While I was searching I found a letter Duane's old friend had sent me. It was the letter he wrote to him the Christmas before he died. He had kept the letter all of these yrs and sent it to me this past Christmas. He thought I might like to have it and he was cleaning out his file as he also is getting along in yrs as we all are who knew Weber. The old friend told me when he gets "there" he knows Duane will be waiting for him (yea, he was a thief and he did a lot of bad things, but he spent his last yrs trying to make up for them). He said he could just see the grin on Duane's face - and his first words to Duane would be "You really did it didn't you!" You see the Duane I knew and the Duane he knew was a GIVER and not a taker, but who would ever believe that? The ex before me - called him a bastard and an evil man...she had NOTHING good to say about him. Zero! There is another article beside that one. BUT, why has the FBI never released the photo they claimed to have or was it completely a fabrication. My notes prior to 2000 are all paper and kept in planners and in note books. I actually talked to someone in the town in question - I believe he was with the local newpaper. Have to go thur 4 yrs of notebooks and planners, but I am positive this happened in 98 or 99. In fact I still have my old telephone records and finding the call to Bremerton should be easy. I had to pay per phone call back then. NO one wants to see my phone bills from 1996 until 2000 and I did NOT have unlimited until I came to my current location in 2001. Not sure when the unlimited started - but after it started there was NO itemization of calls. PS I thought the old phone records where with the planners. Hope I did NOT discard them cleaning out files. Hopefully they are in the other location - I always kept them with the planners, but I remember seeing them in the last 2 yrs as I referenced something in them. Guess I will be busy looking for files, but to cold to go the storage unit for awhile and I am not able to lift the heavy stuff. Damn Damn Damn - all of this stuff needs to be copied and put on disks or something like that. You guys have NO idea how much shit I have. God help the people who have to clean all of this crap out one day. Lots of it is chronolgical and why I thought the bills would be there. I know I divided thing up and did throw away a small amount - but I don't think I would have parted with those phone bills. Jo, Why don't you post the addresses Duane used on his tax returns for 1969, 1970, 1971, and 1972. Also the names and addresses of the companies that provided his W-2s (or 1099) forms. Just the city and state, as well as the dates of his employment with them, would be very helpful. Leave off the money numbers, SSNs, and other such identifying information. BULL CRAP! NONE of the researchers found the Bremerton Sun Article - BULL! Himmelsbach and I discussed the article early on and prior to 2000. Prior to my going public. I was also discussed the article long before I ever heard of you or KC and with a young man who contacted me 12 yrs ago. I have a copy of the actual article and there would be a print date on it. Did you ever talk to the Bremerton or to the writer or to the existing paper or anyone in Bremerton such as at the library? Or oldtimers in the area? Senior centers? NO you didn't, but I did and the story was dismissed. A bald man looking in a window at a wig - no different than a woman looking at wigs in department stores in the late 60' and in the 70's . Wig were vogue then. It was just a story for fun - it was never meant to be taken seriously! GET A LIFE - or talk to the right people! The article was NEVER meant to be taken seriously - it was a BIG laugh! Blevins - you just make yourself look worse and worse and worse and yet MeyerLouie got put on vacation because he made statements to you that said - LOOK AT THE OBVIOUS. You wrote a story and now you want us to believe it is TRUE. ALL you have done is make a bunch of elderly people look like idiots and too embarrassed to come forward and admit they allowed hype and the possibility of a book to cause them to use poor judgement. Your comprehension values seem to be in question with your obtuse statements only made to encite and hinder productivity. If you had actually follow the story, YOU would know the answer to your question. Why bother with Duane's prints and DNA? Did you do your home work on Cooper before coming to this forum? When you were a child: I expect when you were in school the teacher had to point things out to you in regards to your repeatedly delaying the progress of the class to meet required minimun standards. You always use SEARCH, but you have only gone to the computer sites - have you read even ONE book about Cooper? Have you read the old new articles? Even some of those are not very accurate. One writer told me - they have to make the story interest to the public - an explanation for some inaccuracies regarding Weber. I communicated with this writer by email - so there was NO mis-understanding about what I said or didn't say. Literary liberaties - there are too many of them and too many individuals who just want to go to a forum about Cooper and throw things around or to sell a book or a movie. The uninformed about the crime are the worst offenders and the one's who hold back progress and new information being discussed. Why spend your time attacking me - do something useful. WOW! Thank You - I could never ever have summed things up that way, but you are dead on with all of it. Jo Weber (me) has NOT done things right by my own admission. In 1996 I had to work to provide for myself - and I didn't have a computer. I was working a lot of hours and I left the information in the hands of the FBI. They did NOT call for additional information - not even after I went public in 2000, but they at least had the agent's supervisor meet with the media and Pasternac to discuss this on tape (I do not know if that session was ever aired). My ethic are way above some of the ethics used by others and Thank You for pointing that out. You probably didn't intend for me to take it as a compliment, but I did. Again Thank You. Being polite and resourceful does not mean the writer agrees with anyone person, but disagees with the methods used. In my case - there was NO method - I have just stumbled along keeping the story alive and hoping beyond all hope that one day before I am gone that someone will REALLY read what I say and see if there is any possibility that my claims are true. Along the way little things have come up I have tried to chase like this last chase in Spokane, but it will be what the old newspapers reported and the arrest archive show if they even exist today. Every newspaper and jail between Spokane and Coure d'alene is getting a letter and a request to dig into their archives. I am still waiting for that list of possible names Duane could have used. I know you guys posted some I was NOT aware of. It goes out MONDAY! It is my last Hurrah along with the follow-up I will do on it. BUT hopefully it will result in some old files being uncovered - and then the FBI will step up to the plate and drive the ball home.....a win win for everyone! In Sept of 1979 in WA. He stated - "That's were Cooper walked out of the woods" Jo stated: "How would you know that?' Duane replied: "Maybe I was the one on the ground" In MAR of 1995 a few days before he died Duane stated: "I'mmmm Dan Cooper" By that time I had forgotten about Cooper and did NOT know who DAN COOPER was if he had said D.B.Cooper - maybe it would have triggered the prior memory, but that would not happen until 1996 (1yr and 2 months later) when I found out Dan Cooper was the name given by D.B.Cooper. Is there any part of your story that is ORIGINAL. You and others have used parts of the story I told for yrs and yrs. You aren't the only one. Things I said first in letters, to the writers, to the media, postings and emails....a lot of these things end up coming back my way as He said or he claimed such and such went this was or that, so and so did this or that. The echos have been endless and how many have laid claime to things only I had mentioned in the past. GOOD example: Leaving fingerprints on the aft stairs....I told the FBI and everyone about Duane's dream and then others cook up similar stories about their subjects!
