So far, I would say that it is only because he will not take up the offer of jumping the border in search of a "sure thing".

Great! My vacation has turned into a very busy time, so no jumping yet. Moving to Denver in 13 days.
-
WOW! I know he's a bit desperate, but poetry?!?!?!
-
Great story. I saw this a while ago in an expose about the car he was driving. The people that got him out were also burned pretty badly and the story didn't really talk about long term plastic surgery. I hope this guy comes out looking fantastic - he deserves it. Also GREAT to hear he went back to work. The story I saw said there was little chance of that.

After you hit the "Make Profile Changes" button, hit refresh. You should be able to see the changes then.

I have a friend with @350 FF jumps on a Dolphin. He has never had a problem (yet). I always make sure that I am NEVER above him and never dock too hard or hold a dock. Can't say I would recommend it, but what does some idiot that jumps out of perfectly good airplanes know?

Illinois So Cal Tennessee Colorado Japan North Carolina Back to Illinois Back to So Cal Back to Colorado at the end of the month.

I watched it as well and thought it was pretty good. If you liked it, it was an adaptation of a book written by Tony Hillerman. He has also written more books around the same central characters. They are very good books, if you are interested in that sort of thing.
-
Yeah, but that doesn't sound like fun.

Notice that all begins with a stable exit. There's an entirely different matrix that comes before that one for those of us who can't seem to exit the f@&*ing aircraft in the proper fashion.

Quote from the Tandem Vector Owner's Manual: "If he has your left arm, hit him on the right side of his head as hard as you can; he'll probably let go.
-
I don't think most jumpers can appreciate how much there is to do on any given tandem jump - not to mention skreaming, kicking, puking, grabbing passengers strapped to you. My all time favorite is in the Vector Sigma manual - on what to do if a passenger grabs your left hand!

It does happen and more often than anyone would like. Fortunately, I think TIs are generally well prepared and capable of dealing with adverse situations. Added: Glad to hear everyone is ok.

Certainly worthy of a book mark. Thanks!

Thanks! I just sprayed water out of my nose and all over my keyboard!

Side Note: Personally I feel that it should be up to the individual jumper if they are going to use an AAD or not, but that is your choice as a DZO to have that policy. I do not have an AAD in my rig, currently, although I will eventually since I do think they are worth while; however, I can not afford one and I'm willing to deal with the consiquences of jumping without one until I can afford one. It would be unfortunate, though, if my local DZ had the same policy so I went to a different DZ, eventually bought an AAD, but never came back to the local DZ since I had made a good group of friends at the other.) > This was exactly my opinion when I started skydiving. I went through AFF in San Diego and didn't jump at Buzz's dropzone until my home dz closed. I didn't have a cypress, and I wasn't planning on spending the money for one up until then. It was raining the day after my home dz closed, so I drove over to Buzz's dz to meet him for the first time and inquire about a purchasing a cypress. Buzz understood the financial situation of some of the locals coming over from the other dz and had planned accordingly. He had a stock of Cypresses and was selling them to the new fun jumpers on installment plans, so I bought one. I had to spend some money, but not so much to keep me on the ground. I will also never forget how nice and accommodating he was to someone he had never met before. I still think people have the right to choose their own fate and there is no cure for stupidity, but since I've have seen two cypress saves with my own eyes, I can not possibly imagine jumping without one now (except if I was doing CRW).

I was definately watching and pulling for the tiger, but I felt bad for Mark Martin. Jimmie Johnson is a local guy that my brother knows, so always root for the home team (but not Robby Gordon). NASCAR rules.

Getting free jumps for a picture or two kicks ass!!
JohnnyD replied to Viking's topic in The Bonfire
I would not recommend putting that camera on a helmet. I'm not saying to sell it, but did you see my camera? Don't do it. Thanks for the jump, btw. -
