  1. Dave, If you can scan any of the correspondence and pm it, I'd really like to take a look at it.

    Roll-Call.

I don't know for sure, but a certain someone made a hilarious and very outward personal attack yesterday. The thread was gone pretty quick and we haven't seen that person around since.

    Roll-Call.

I bet I know who it is.
  4. Absoloutely seconded. Are you guys serious? That stuff is dog food.
  5. Wal-Mart is the largest employer in our state. A serious boycott would be very interesting.
  6. If you could get your dzo to scan it as a pdf file and pm it to me I'd really like to see it. Edit: You probably won't find what you are looking for in the tax code. It is likely to be found in tax law.
  7. Thanks for the info. I am looking at the Carbon. The hd has more capacity, but the flash has an FM tuner. Don't know if I want to trade up in capacity and lose the FM or not.
  8. They don't rename it, they just recycle it and put the dead ones in a nice burial plot outside of the stadium. I believe its name is Reville.
  9. I'm looking at two different ones right now - an IRiver and a Rio. The IRiver is flash and the Rio is hd. My question is: how susceptible to skipping is the hd?
  10. Congrats. You know where to bring the beer.
  11. The post has never been held by a Marine before. And - congrats on the full PFT thing - you've worked your way up to the standards for women in the Marines.
  12. Let me just say its about time something worthwhile came out of the Colorado legislature. I'm sure your boys are excellent drivers. That would put them in the minority of the entire population of this state, not to mention their own peer group. In all the places I've lived, I've never seen worse drivers as a whole and I've never seen more teen fatalities in auto accidents. Driving isn't a freedom, its a privilege and also a big responsibility. I hope this will help teenagers in CO ease into that responsibility a little better.
  13. That's my favorite too! The chickory in it gives it such a great flavor. MelStarr just sent me some for a pick-me-up. She's such a sweetie!
  14. The dog that ate peppermint?
  15. Its not to figure out where it came from, but who bought it. This is really a college town thing. If a party gets busted and there are a bunch of underage kids there, they find out who bought the keg and charge him/her with contributing. They believe it will cut down on underage drinking because people of age will be reluctant to provide alcohol to those under age. Its a nice theory, but college kids will just have "case" parties instead of "keg" parties.
  16. How did the hook knife come loose? In the case of the one Bill is talking about, the hook knife was on the jumpers right leg strap and he knocked it loose during the pull sequence. It flew right up into the lines and began cutting. I also would have had a hard time believing it if I didn't see it, but there was good video.
  17. NOT April 15th. The firms drinks breakfast on the 15th for a warm up and then breaks out the grill for lunch. We may head out of town after that.
  18. In that case I would say that the catholic hospital and all hospitals should not inform patients of medical options which are illegal. They could get in trouble for that. In the mean time, all hospitals should be required to inform patients of -all- their legal medical options. They may not be able or willing to provide them and that is fine. The patient is free to seek treatment elsewhere.
  19. The reason this is NOT a religious issue is that if I apply my argument to any medical procedure, I will still arrive at the same answer. If you apply your argument to different procedures, your answer will change. Therefore, you are imposing your beliefs onto other people. The sad part about that is you're doing it to people who are turning to you when they are at the most vulnerable, scared, and hurt points in their lives. There is nothing wrong with that at all, provided the patient is at least made aware of all of her options. No, because telling someone how to kill themselves is out of the minimum standards of healthcare. The point I'm trying to make is that it doesn't matter what your religious beliefs are. You have to maintain minimum standards of healthcare. That is why its not a religious issue, but one of public health and safety.
  20. And you make my point exactly. You can -only- see this as a religious issue, which it is not. You think its wrong based on your own personal religious beliefs and you would seek to impose those beliefs on people regardless of what they may believe. I think the opposite. All people should be allowed to choose for themselves. If the catholic church has a problem with that, (and they obviously do) they should not be in the business of public healthcare. Side thought - how do you justify catholics being police officers or soldiers? The police officer may have to use his weapon - in self defense - which may or may not be a violation of one of the commandments. The soldier's job is to actively seek out and kill, which is certainly a violation of one of the commandments.
  21. I don't condone anyone forcing their beliefs on someone else. That is -exactly- what you are condoning. You are just wrapping it in the blanket of religious beliefs. People should be allowed to make their own decisions. If you condone intentionally withholding information from patients, you are, in fact, imposing your views on that patient because the patient may have made a different choice provided they had all the information. getting interesting Without a doubt, because its not a religious issue. If ensuring that rape victims are provided with information regarding all their medical options and allowed to make their own decisions is intolerant or hypocritical, where does that put you? Again, you are unable to see past your own personal religious beliefs. The bill has passed both the senate and the house by a wide margin across party lines. Just because you don't agree with it personally doesn't mean it won't get passed. Not everyone is catholic and even some of those who are realize that protecting the minimum standards of healthcare is in their own best interests.
  22. Yes, because the hospital is regulated by the state, not the church. Like a hospital?
  23. you're missing the point. catholic facilities maintain that providing information that could result in abortion is NOT PART OF any standard of care, but just the opposite. Actually, you are missing the point because you can't see beyond your personal religious beliefs. When the state medical board turns into the catholic church medical board, I will agree with you. Until that happens, minimum standards of medical care will continue to be decided by the state medical board through the residents of the state. This bill is the will of the people and it will eventually get passed.
