Why? Because you automatically associate homosexuals with child molestors unless told otherwise? What about hispanics? Do they need an advertising campaign against NAMBLA? What about _insert anything here_ Americans? What about my softball league? I think the homosexual community is more concerned with securing equal treatment under the law. I fail to see how this is relevant.

Here's an excellent starting place-- NAMBLA mh Wow. Why is it that you harbor such fear and contempt for homosexuals to the point that you would automatically associate them with child molestors? Outside of the type of blind, hostile bigotry I haven't seen in a long time, I can only imagine two reasons: 1. You were sexually assulted as a child by an adult man. I sincerely hope this is not the case, but it would explain your feelings. 2. You are a closet homosexual programmed to believe you are going to hell, so you are fighting your urges. This is probably the answer.

And if you guys and Mary didn't live all the way up in Wyoming, we would have gotten together by now. I'm sure we will though, cuz I live by the tunnel.

Been there, done that. T-Shirts already have holes in 'em. Don't jump for a season and see how many "friends" you really have. On the bright side, we will have more time to play golf and there's a ton of shit I'm planning on this summer.

Easy - She was pretty, blonde, and female. There is video which captures the whole thing, complete with the boyfriend screaming. She was pregnant. She is now obviously messed up (facial deformity and no teeth). - Take away any of these pieces and there isn't much of a story. I think if this was an ugly fat guy, it would be relegated to its 20 seconds of fame on Real TV.

Drug test? Nice Avitar - btw.

I'm feeling your pain. Twice this year for me. 1st time: 16 year old kid, had his license for about three weeks - $900 in damage (his car was looking worse than mine; don't know or care what it cost his parents) 2nd time: Soccer mom on a cell phone in an SUV - $1650 in damage. She hit us hard enough to knock my wife's glasses off.

Fox is a business, first and foremost. I think they stand the chance of alienating or aggravating their core base of advertising revenue if they run that ad. They would seem to have a lot more to lose than gain if they run the ad. Easy business decision, imo.

If it is the will and voice of the American people....then it must be heard no matter what they are saying. Trying to keep something quiet can and will have a much larger negative impact in the long run. I think you are missing the point. I'm taking your point to be that we should have unwavering support of the administration, even if they have screwed up beyond imagination. The other side would be to voice your dissent, which I gather you are against because it is demoralizing to the military regardless of whether it is right or wrong. I think we have the duty to dissent when our leaders have gone a stray. I recognize it may be unpopular with certain people who don't hold the same opinion or soldiers tasked with carrying out the policies, but the ability of American citizens to change policies or courses of action which have proven to be bad is one of the things that makes America great. And from this post: The president works for the citizens, not the other way around. -
There is a great sushi place right across the parking lot. I know where I'll be spending my lunch money I will second that. Yuki is great. The Rio is also great. Their margies can also be used for Jet-A. You have been warned.

I may now start my weekend with a smile.

Speaking of evidence... I still haven't seen anything proving she was an active agent at the time of the "outing"....has anyone else? From Wiki: Little is known of Plame's professional career. While undercover, she had described herself as an "energy analyst" for the private company "Brewster Jennings & Associates," which the CIA later acknowledged was a front company for certain investigations. "Brewster Jennings" was first entered into Dun and Bradstreet records on May 22, 1994, but D&B would not discuss the source of the filing. D&B records list the company as a "legal services office," located at 101 Arch Street, Boston, Massachusetts. One former CIA official, Larry C. Johnson, identified Plame as a "non-official cover operative" (NOC). He explained: "...that meant she agreed to operate overseas without the protection of a diplomatic passport. If caught in that status she would have been executed." [3] David Armstrong, an Andover researcher for the Public Education Center, believed that the Brewster Jennings & Associates cover had not been done convincingly and that other covers would have been established for her by the CIA. [4] Speaking in a press conference on October 28, 2005, Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald said, "Valerie Wilson was a CIA officer. In July 2003, the fact that Valerie Wilson was a CIA officer was classified. Not only was it classified, but it was not widely known outside the intelligence community. Valerie Wilson's friends, neighbors, college classmates had no idea she had another life." It has been speculated that Plame likely would have worked in the office of former CIA Deputy Director of Operations (DDO) James Pavitt. Subsequent information refines this, indicating that she was employed in the Counterproliferation Division of the Directorate of Operations (DO/CPD) and had been a career clandestine intelligence officer in the DO for approximately twenty years. Some reports suggest that she was attached to the Weapons Intelligence, Nonproliferation and Arms Control center (WINPAC). This appears to be incorrect, as WINPAC is an inter-agency organization administratively located in the CIA's Directorate of Intelligence and most of its employees are not under permanent cover.

Anyone have a credible source for this? I find it interesting that her family didn't know, but the claims that "people heard this at parties" is going around. Certainly these "people that heard it" have been interviewed and deposed. Certainly we can identify "them". I know I shouldn't be, but yet I am amazed that reasonable people with the ability to think rationally would believe that a career undercover CIA agent would be so cavalier with her cover.
-
Correct. Every agent that has passed that business card has been, in some way, compromised.
-
I don't think they can prove it was done in a criminal manner as the law is currently written. Sadly, I don't believe we will ever see an indictment on that charge.
-
I thought that was a given. There is no question that her identity was leaked. Even I know her name and what she did for a living. That was the entire reason for the investigation in the first place. I think what they could not or will not be able to prove is that her identity was revealed in a criminal manner. I heard on the radio this morning sound bites from neighbors and friends. They all said they had been interviewed numerous times and one person (a neighbor) said she had known Valerie for over twenty years and often had dinner together and considered herself a good friend - or so she thought - and she had no idea until the story broke.

I guess I should expect no less. It would have been nice to just once debate substance instead of semantics. I'll start: As a former Marine, I find the outing of a CIA agent particularly unforgivable. I believe it is a betrayal of all the men and women who sacrifice immeasurably for this country and get so little in return. I think it shows a horrible disregard for our national security and the people working to provide it. I think, if proven guilty, Libby should be made a private and sent to Iraq and not be allowed to leave until the very last American soldier/sailor/airman/guardsman/Marine has safely returned to America and then he should be returned to the US and executed, which is basically the fate for which he is at least partly responsible for over 2000 American servicemen and women.

Telling in that you immediately resort to calling someone with no involvement an idiot. If the only defense you can provide is to call an uninvolved third party an idiot, maybe you should re-think who you are so blindly supporting. I would expect such responses from grade schoolers, but I would hope the discourse here would be much more enlightening. This might be of equal relevance: Ronald Reagan ate jelly beans, so there!
