  1. but he is a walking canonball (no offense Scotty). Fucking Chuck Blue!!!! I just spit my coffee all over the floor here at the charlotte airport when i read that. Awesome. Pure awesome. In regards to the conversion, it is a lot of bang for your buck. If you have an old suit, and 400 dollars, do it. Worst case scenario you have a suit that you can sell easier than before. ( I'll bet money you won't want to sell it though :) Justin Wingsuit organizing, first flight courses and coaching Flock University Tonysuits
  2. This just in, I will be organzing wingsuits at Carolina fest this next weekend, June 4, 5 and 6th. There will be a Casa, Otters and Pac. I will be there with a large fleet of Tonysuit Wingsuit demos. Tony Uragallo will also be present with a stack of Demos. There will be First Flight Courses, Organizing and One to One coaching available. I plan to focus on docked wingsuit formations, formation planning and vertical formation skills. Any questions or suit requests, please pm myself or Tony. See you out there Justin Wingsuit organizing, first flight courses and coaching Flock University Tonysuits
  3. oh yea... like that one when the people in each plane relied on the people in the *other* plane to check the spot... and we landed a 40-way a couple miles off... pepperell style... It was a 27 way, and it was and otter and cessna 206 formation load. Cessna lead. Wingsuit organizing, first flight courses and coaching Flock University Tonysuits
  4. To be honest, it was nothing mentioned yet in any responses. While planning the 71 way, in 2008 There was heavy discussion on this topic. Jeff had originally panned for a skyvan to be lead. As the event started coming closer, there was issues with getting the Skyvan, along with mechanical problems. My opinion was.... Dont fix what is not broke. Wingsuiters can exit otters. Very well. More so that you could be safe to say the average wingsuiter exits an otter better than a casa or skyvan. Because they usually jump otters or similar door caravans on a regular basis. Aside from a few dropzones, people rarely get to jump tailgates. It is usually reserved for special events. Timing and exit on a Bigway are critical. Using the More familiar Otters, eliminated some of the issues that might have risen by using a tailgate. In my experience with tailgte bigways ( fairly extensive ) I have found that a Casa with the same amount of jumpers, exits slower than an otter. Despite the tailgate. People also tend to get blasted and be unstable more often out of tailgates. So in a nutshell, its easier to use the familiar aircraft. Especially when we do not need the extra capacity. 5. I have been contacted about organizing. We are still negotiating the schedule. I will announce as soon as something concrete is laid down. Justin Wingsuit organizing, first flight courses and coaching Flock University Tonysuits
  6. Your profile says 152 jumps. Is that true? Wingsuit organizing, first flight courses and coaching Flock University Tonysuits
  7. Did you have instruction??? This video is actually concerning for me to see. Typically FFC is not out of a Cessna, and is with a coach or instructor. Did you have any coaching? How many jumps do you have? Its good to see you like Wingsuiting, but there is NEVER a better substitute for success then proper training and experience. 8. What is your experience level? What kind of flying do you want to focus on right now? I can give you information about each version and we can specify what model may suit your needs best. Justin Wingsuit organizing, first flight courses and coaching Flock University Tonysuits
  9. I will be, as well as Jeff. Maybe more, I am currently working out details now with Rook and Erin. More info to come. J-sho Wingsuit organizing, first flight courses and coaching Flock University Tonysuits
  10. A note from Klaus.......... Worldwide Wingsuit Performance Competition launched!!!!! Four years ago, in 2006, Mirko Schmidt initiated a performance oriented wingsuit competition in Gransee, Germany which was held for the last three years with international participants. Modelled after an existing FAI class, the main intention for this competition was to give performance oriented wingsuit pilots a common ground to prove themselves in three possible performance classes for a wingsuit - time, distance and speed - and to find the best overall pilot while fostering knowledge transfer and further development of wingsuit technology and flying skills. This years event in Germany is sanctioned by the DFV (German Parachute Association) as a German Championship. At the same time, other well known characters from the wingsuit circus (Justin Shorb, Tony Uragallo, Jarno Cordia and James "Macca" Macdonald) have been active to hold events following the same rules all over the world. Events in Germany (Gransee) and the US (Jumptown, Orange Massachusetts) are already confirmed for Sep. 17.-19., while events in the Netherlands, the UK and Eastern Europe are being planned. We are currently working on Sponsors and Prize money for each event. Stay tuned and follow this thread and the Paralog website for final details. Details on the different competitions will follow in due time. In the meantime, please see http://www.wingsuitcompetition.com/ppc/ for detailed "I for one am REALLY excited about hosting the Performance Competition for the United States! Giving the U.S. flyers a chance to compete against others in the world and their peers can only further our sport." 15. Scott, I have thought about it. My opinion for the time being is NOT to make changes for backflying etc. I see the bigger difficulty, but keeping the point system as simple as we can, at least for now is the way. I foresee in a year or two, adding categories for more difficult maneuvers. Right now lets just keep the talent gap a little closer. :-) Justin Wingsuit organizing, first flight courses and coaching Flock University Tonysuits

  17. The original Suit Lurch flew was an S-Bird that had normal T-Bird style grippers. Once the trailing edge was made Perpendicular to the line of flight, there was a need to add gripper extensions. When Lurch ordered his suit, I showed him the S-Bird that is the current design, before it was production. Sorry Lurchy, its production now.(However, I challenge anyone to out float him in it :-D ) The Elastic leg is a very cool design. Simple, yet effective. I wont elaborate as to how it is built, but the design sucks the wing up until it is inflated with air. Keeping the tailwing free from damage as you walk in it. 18. I know you keep offering to teach me how to dock, Jarno, but seriously, I'm just not into docking with dudes. Speaking of which, before we get too into thinking that we're bad ass as a result of our mad docking skillz, my soon to be ex-wife was looking at some of the pictures from Puerto Rico... Her observation - "it's great that you guys can express your sexuality and hold hands at 7,000 feet above the ground..." Man, that ruined it for me. Dude, it was actually around 9000 feet. 22. After the Expo, I will be at Zhills all week. If anyone wants to do some jumps, and you cant find me. Try Tonys shop. Justin Wingsuit organizing, first flight courses and coaching Flock University Tonysuits
  23. They never got six. It was supposed to be five, with myself on purples foot and Andreea on the other side, but the forward speed was crazy slow, so it was washy an unstable. Purple never got the hand dock. Wingsuit organizing, first flight courses and coaching Flock University Tonysuits
  24. Ideas? Suggestions? (important, as this definition would also be valid for bigways etc) What if we just let the peers be the judge. We could do a poll, etc. In snowboarding competiton, they have a style category. No grids etc. If we submit a photo, and there is a tie/ question. we put it to a vote by peers? 25. I would say the Stingray from Tony, The phantom 2 from Phoenix fly, and the Firebird R from Birdman. They are all more performing than a GTI, but the same basic experience level.
