  1. In all fairness, We had nothing to do with any fatalities. And typed on my iphone makes difficult to be perfect. I'll edit it for you. :-) Wingsuit organizing, first flight courses and coaching Flock University Tonysuits
  2. While putting this together, we discussed membership fees. Bottom line is we strive to keep coaches up to date and current. Just like UPSA or other governing bodies, coaches and instructors must maintain a certain level of proficiency to be able to instruct. An annual fee ensures coaches currency, their interest and ability to keep current. If not, and they lose interest thats ok. They do not have to renew. As far as level 1 and 2, we want coaches who can backfly, doing backfly coaching etc. There SHOULD be a way for students to be able to sift through coaches and who can do what. These ratings are for our school to run consistently from location to location and from coach to coach. This rating ensures the coach you hire has the most up to date training and has shown the qualifications and ability to do so. No one NEEDS a rating to teach, whether it is BMI,PFC, FWC. But they DO show ones interest in the greater good, and that they strive to make our sport safer in the long run. Wingsuit organizing, first flight courses and coaching Flock University Tonysuits

  5. Yes. Its been thought out. :-) Inside the suit on the top edge of the tape for the handle holes, there is tape that has to be tied up onto the harness rings to prevent the suit from moving around. Also, the holes are VERY VERY tight to get the handle through from the inside. This makes it impossible to pull them in, but they can be pulled out, ( in case of emergency) as normal. And this was tested multiple times, including a real emergency. Scotty Burns. :-) Justin Wingsuit organizing, first flight courses and coaching Flock University Tonysuits
  6. It is a skydiving rig. The handles come out of holes in the front of the suit. When using it for base, the suit can be made with no holes if you are never going to skydive with it. Justin Wingsuit organizing, first flight courses and coaching Flock University Tonysuits
  7. The "Wing" versus "Bird" series difference was originally only the fastback. We were calling the "Birds" with fastbacks "wings". The wings came after the birds. It was a performance upgrade to the Birds. Now it is an option on the suits, you can order one with a fastback or not, but the names of the suits are T-Bird, R-Bird, S-Bird and X-Bird (Now X2). This is to keep the confusion down. :-) Cheers Justin Wingsuit organizing, first flight courses and coaching Flock University Tonysuits
  8. Keep up the good work. The more the better! Wingsuit news does a great job, but more outlets means more exposure. J Wingsuit organizing, first flight courses and coaching Flock University Tonysuits

  17. Hey Everyone, As you might have seen or heard. We completed the first 16 way vertical diamond this past summer at Jumptown in Massachusetts. It went great!!! Moving forward, We now have the next event scheduled. It will be a 25 way vertical diamond at Z-hills Jan 20-23 2011. This will be followed by a 36 way vertical diamond to be completed at Jumptown, MA July 2011. The culmination of this event is a 49- way vertical Diamond at Skydive Carolina in November 2011. We already have the aircraft secured and the event planning is well underway!! What we need is YOU!!!! These events are invitational only. Invitations have gone out for the 25 way, but we are always accepting alternates, and people to try out who want to be a part of history. If you think you can do it, or are interested contact one of the captains and we will get you the information needed. There are going to be vertical flying skills camps all over the US this winter and next summer. I have spoken with a few European flyers about holding camps and qualifying flyers also. So if you are interested, No matter where you are, please contact us. The captains so far: Justin Shorb Scott Callantine Scott Bland Ed Pawlowski We also have DSE holding camps and offering training. 19. Flock University is developing ideas for the 2011 wingsuiting season. We have a bunch of great concepts that we'll announce in the next couple of months. But since these wingsuiting events are about having fun - and since at the end of the day, it's the wingsuiting community that makes a wingsuit event a success or not - we wanted to ask what sorts of events would YOU want to attend? There's the obvious stuff that every event needs (beer, food, etc.). Assume that's all there. But what themes/goals for an event that would make you really want to attend? For example, should the goal be "flat" bigways, maybe to set state records? To build new 3D formations? Distance challenges? Docking/baton passing? Multi-point flocks? Skills camps for newer wingsuiters? Something else? Help us come up with something that you'd like to be a part of. The best idea wins a Flock U hoodie. 20. Do you even know who the flyby was past Mike?. He opened at 3000 feet, and you can still see in the video he is just finished opening, brakes still stowed. The flyby was at 2500 feet. Your wrong Mike, sorry. Pilot chute out at 2000 feet is legal, whether you agree or not. My pull altitudes have come up typically between 2500 and 3000 feet. Anyways I'm out. Lots of JUMPING to do!!
  21. A Big Thanks to Jeff Donohue, for Editing this. More thanks to Scotty Burns, Brian Snarr and Justin Pabis for the 4 video angles. Awesome work guys!!! And to all who came out, THANK YOU. These events are fun to do and BE a part of, But they would be nothing without the flyers. Thanks to the 16!!! J-Sho Wingsuit organizing, first flight courses and coaching Flock University Tonysuits
