  1. how many of you have killed a kitten/puppy while at work? You know how it is, you're having a really bad day, or you've read some really raunchy posts on dz.com so you feel it necessary to dissapear into the bathroom a for a few minutes.

Don't know for sure about Fandango, but it was definitely in Cutaway. Damn you caught me.
  4. Only if the date included waterboarding him You are in favor of waterboarding? Stupid question...what is waterboarding? I've heard of motorboating and powerboating but this is new to me. I would be happy to demonstrate on Turtle... or a plethora of posters in SC for ya. I vote for the demonstration on Turtle. I think it involves a towel placed over the face of the person being waterboarded, who's lying down face up, and water is poured on the towel-covered face. Makes it hard to breathe and makes you think you're going to drown. Yeah I just remembered what it is. I take back my statement about it being used on Turtle.

Knowing turtle, are you sure you want to know the answer? I'm a little bored at work so why not? It would provide some entertainment.

WOW! That thread was from before I ever knew what dz.com was. It's great reading some of those old posts. Clay always cracked me up. You know...come to think of it, I don't think I was around until right about the time he got banned. Reading GFD's posts are making me laugh too. Why is it that all the truly great posters are gone?

"Wha fo you jump outta dem planes?"
  10. How do you ensure that the group exiting after you will give you proper exit separation? Safety is everyone's business. We ALL have to do our part. If everyone does what they are supposed to do, collisions won't happen. This is not a perfect world. The same can be said for car accidents. If EVERYONE paid attention to what they were doing while driving there would be no car accidents. Unfortuantely it's the same way in skydiving. You have new people who don't know any better, cocky people who think they're above having to listen to the safety regulations and people who are just plain stupid. So until we live in a perfect world where everyone does everything perfectly shit is going to happen. Context is important here. In the thread from which this was spun-off, the comparison was of collisions with malfunctions. Collisions ARE avoidable if everyone behaves correctly. Malfunctions can still occur with a perfectly packed parachute and proper deployment with good body position. The fact that we seem to have a spate of collision fatalities in the past 2 years, whose causes are either poor separation on breakoff or poor pattern/landing discipline suggests that we CAN do something about collisions, since both of these are under the control of the skydivers. That reply was actually posted to the other thread. I've been reading it everyday since I was at the boogie mentioned. All I'm stating is that there's only so much you can do to protect yourself from a collision. There is no guarantee that some other yahoo isn't going to run into you. Question for you...have you every participated in everything where every single person there behaved correctly???

  12. I'm torn between two, but this one makes me laugh just a little bit harder than the other one. WARNING!! If you are consuming any liquids be prepared to clean your computer screen. I had a feeling that was going to be the pic. Fortunately I had my mouse ready to close the window as soon as it opened since I'm at work.

    Big News!

Congratulations!!! The look on her face is priceless.
  14. Last I heard they weren't jumping because of all the fires. This late into what was supposed to be the comp has anyone heard what they plan to do? Extend the dates? Relocate? Cancel? Reschedule? I saw this article this morning and it really got me to wondering how long they're going to keep the competitors over there if there is no chance of them jumping. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/eu_russia_fires
  15. At least you're only a week late. My POS computer won't let me edit anything so who knows when I'll finally get my video put together. I'm just going to have to wait for a day of crappy weather and hope someone at the DZ will be patient enough to help me.
  16. She'll hate me for this. On the other hand, she doesn't like going to the dropzone so no one has a chance at hitting on her. Sorry for the thread drift, Cyndi! It wouldn't be the bonfire if threads didn't drift off topic.
  17. I'm not so sure it says the same thing to you as it does to me. Let me explain a bit more. They took a poll in the company to see which people would prefer. Take a 5% pay cut or lay off some people. The vote was unanimous to take the pay cut.
  18. Thanks for the warning. But something tells me the people here are not like that. I see at least 2 people on ebay and others surfing msn.com and such. The people here are beyond caring. Just a year ago everyone in the company (even the CEO's and higher ups) took a 5% pay cut so that they wouldn't have to fire anyone. (That really tells you something about the people you're working with/for.) Fortunately two people from my DZ already work here so I was able to get honest opinions about what it's like to work here. Yes, I'm sure this job is going to have it's downfalls, all jobs do. But I'm just excited to finally be doing something with my degree and to be working somewhere that has serious potential for advancement.
  19. So I started my new job yesterday
  20. Why am I not surprised that you're one of the first to respond.
  21. Wow! What an amazing week. As much I would have loved to stay I don't think my liver would allow it. I met so many great people (I can't even begin to list them all) and had some of the most fun shit show skydives ever. This is definitely going to have to become a yearly trip for me. Today I start training my liver better for next year and saving up.
  22. yah bite me...... --- bad trade you getting kdub, and me getting bolas.....who the hell did i piss off At least you'll have me there too. I think Bolas will be the loser in this trade.
  23. than renting a car for say 1o days that i don't need. would be great but i've been stuck in japan 2 long wanting to skydive. dam im kinda drunk sorry for misspellings, Just let us know when your flight gets in and I'm sure someone will be able to give you a ride. I look forward to meeting you. :)
  24. And I cant wait to have your ass ever so firmly on my ass. One caveat, no touching flying surfaces, wing cutaways, main cutaway, reserve or main deployment handle. Basically long as you straddle my ass ever so perfectly you'll be just fine. I think I can handle that.
