So if they needed the handout then it is a valid handout and they accept others getting it but if they did not need it then it shouldn't happen? It has nothing to do with need. It has everything to do with where to draw the line and why. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Have we? All I see is people who've accepted one form of government handout claiming that it's not a handout when they got it, but it is a handout if someone less fortunate than themselves gets it. That is your interpretation. All I see is people who've accepted one form of government handout claiming that it's a handout when they got it, and it's a handout when someone less fortunate than themselves gets it, and that they don't want another form of government handout for themselves or for someone else. PS: Can you move on and discuss where you believe the line should be drawn and why? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Editorial: Conservatives' Hatred of McCain Makes No Sense

To many people confuse conservatives with neo-conservatives ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch -
How does this relate to complaints about others who want *additional* services provided to them by taxpayers? I have not asked the government to give me anything beyond what it already does, so how is it hypocritical to complain about others who want more and more? Blues, Dave Once you acknowledge that there's a line to be drawn somewhere, it's just a matter of opinion about where it should be drawn. A well dressed lady walks into a swank hotel lounge and takes a seat at the bar. A nice looking gentleman is seated beside her. The two make small talk over a few drinks and really seem to hit it off. After a while the gentleman turns to the lady and asks “Say, would you spend the night with me in my suite tonight if I give you $500,000? The lady looks a bit surprised but stops to think for a minute. After pondering the question for a bit she smiles and says she will do that. The gentleman immediately comes back with “How about one hour for $50? The lady jumps up from her seat and slaps the man across the face. “What do you think I am?” she retorts. The gentleman smiles slyly and says “Madam, you established what you are. We are now negotiating the price”. Yes, we understand and agree that a line has been drawn. Can you move on and discuss where you believe the line should be drawn and why? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Fixed it for you. No, you didn't fix anything. You just attempted to deny the blatant hypocrisy of those who took taxpayer handouts for things they wanted, but don't approve when someone else gets one. What hypocrisy? I got subsidized education and approve of someone else getting subsidized education. Do you believe we should subsidize gun ownership? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Do you also smoke tobacco? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

No, it sounds like different studies (Your study interviewed 79 lung cancer patients while my study interviewed 611 lung cancer patients.) have reached different conclusions and further studies must be done. PS: Your study concluded that smoking marijuana did increase the risk of developing cancer while my study concluded that smoking marijuana did not increase the risk of developing cancer. Neither study proved that smoking marijuana causes cancer. PPS: Both studies concluded that smoking tobacco did increase the risk of developing cancer. Other studies have proven that smoking tobacco causes cancer. Thus, smoking tobacco is a factor that must be removed in future studies. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Ronald Reagan thought selling pollution credits was a great idea, and GHW Bush got them enshrined in law in the 1990 Clean Air Act. (An early version had been in place as long ago as the Nixon administration). It's funny that these darlings of the GOP have suddenly become bad now that a leading DEM is using them. Double standard, anyone? Double standard? Only for people like you who are unable to separate politics from problems and solutions ... for the rest of us they have allows been bad. And a lot of right wing people want more and more tax cuts.. while so many of our bridges and other infrastructure rusts away. BUT they can still have a nice little adventure in Iraq with a whole lot of right wing Friends of the Admistration getting rich on cost plus no bid contracts. Just more of the same from the something for nothing crowd. You want services and roads and education.. but are not willing to pay for it. You don't know anything about me because you lack reading and comprehension skills. PS: I hope the bridge doesn't collapse while you're living under it. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
