It wouldn't be so funny if it weren't true... http://www.democraticunderground.com/top10/01/top10_2001_29.html _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

I hope it really chaffes your ass to know that my wife and I thought the commercial was so funny, we ran out last week and signed up, plus we bought two phones. Yay number portability! _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

MSN's Slate - yes, owned by Microsoft recomends users ditch IE for Firefox, a version of Mozilla. http://slate.msn.com/id/2103152/ Download Mozillla at www.mozilla.org awefully cold in Hades, these days... _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

I agree completely, neither movie could, should, or would be made today. Both were a product of their times, and as the song goes, the times - they are a changing. There are movies being made today, that are just as didactic, unsettling, and conflicting today as those were then. Take for example "White Chicks" - a film that could not have been made 20 years ago, or F9/11, which is clearly groundbreaking for being the first film to ever attempt to affect an election. Both are clearly not "politically correct", and both exist only because they are a product of the time they were produced in - just like Blazing Saddles or Gone with the Wind. Times change. That's a good thing. Great films are only great because of the culture they were created in. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

How can you have it both ways? Either the government takes care of its own people (like Canada), or only the rich can take care of themselves (like the US). _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Canopy Transfer being taught in your ground school?
AndyMan replied to namdrib's topic in Instructors
Nope. Your coach course should have included a lecture on primacy and recency. During that lecture your coach course should have drilled into you that you should only teach the student what they need to know to make a sucessfull skydive. Instead, spend time making sure that they've got the tools necesary so that such a stunt would never be necesary. BTW - Canopy transfers were a lot more common when people had round reserves. With a round reserve, having two canopies out did not pose a hazard. Today, with square mains and reserves, a two-out situation could take a form which poses significant hazards. Its for that reason that people canopy transfers have largely become a thing of the past. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. -
How would you feel if your rigger smoked dope?
AndyMan replied to Perche61's topic in Gear and Rigging
Exactly! I expect my rigger to follow directions within an acceptable leeway, even if he feels those directions are unjust. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. -
click here: http://networks.org/?src=cert:713878 They list stopping using IE as one way of avoiding a particular attack. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

I can see the article there is confusing. Typical government speak. In another post, I linked to the original CERT advisory. If you're interested, that is certainly less confusing. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
-
One more note: the CERT quotes above seem to be lifted directly from this advisory: http://networks.org/?src=cert:713878 Mozilla, which I recomend people use as an alternative to IE, does not contain any of the technologies listed above, like VBScript or ActiveX. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
-
???? Mozilla is not vulnerable to any of the CERT advisories mentioned. A bigger concern is an exploit known as Download.Ject Exploit, which has been in the wild for over a month now, and Microsoft still hasn't released a patch. They've just announced one, but we don't know when it will actually circulate. Again, this exploit does not effect Mozilla on Windows. More then take my word for it, please drop by www.us-cert.gov and read the advisories yourself. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Navigator is good, but its always smart to keep yourself on the most recent version available. To answer Luv2Fall, I use Mozilla 1.7. Mozilla is often rebranded as Netscape. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

So, just for future reference... Am I to understand that the policy of not deleting posts at users requests has been changed? I had thought that only posts which violated rules would be deleted. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

How should we have trust in the current round of testing, when it seems to so closely resemble the previous round? What is Vigil doing differently this time to ensure there are no more critical errors? I'm not trying to slam you or Vigil. I'm legitimately interested in sucess... _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Revelation: Americans support higher taxes for better traffic.
AndyMan replied to AndyMan's topic in Speakers Corner
The nuthshell is that a majority of Americans would gladly pay more taxes if it meant reduced traffic congestion. I wonder what other social ills Americans are more than happy to pay for... http://www.sfexaminer.com/article/index.cfm/i/070204b_taxes _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. -
Craichead bought one a few monthes ago. If the weather doesn't suck this weekend (it usually does on holidays...) then inflatable should make a skydive this weekend. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

It depends on your definition of "Canadian". He never held Canadian citizenship. The invention of the telephone is generally attributed to Alexander Graham Bell, a scottsman who fled the UK fearing death from sickness at 23. He initially settled in Brandford Ontario, but also established his summer house on Cape Bretton Island, Nova Scotia. The Summer house was known for being the location where he did much of his best research, both in telephony and the physics of flight. The first telephone "call" would happen in Boston, Massacheusetts, while he was working there temporarily. Alexander Graham Bell is a great example of a long list of distinguished individuals who rejected the poor life of the old world, and embraced the opportunities of the new. He later moved permanently to the states, and became a US citizen, a process that at the time would have him renounce any claims to his Scottish homeland. He continued to spend summers at the vacation home in Nova Scotia. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

You missed a few choices. From where I sit, the two most important aspects in choosing a rig are: 1) Harness Size 2) Performance Suitability. I bought my rig because the DZ had one for sale that fit, that held an appropriately sized set of canopies, and was nearly new - exactly what I was looking for. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

I was wondering that myself... _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

I know nothing about the UK, but in Canada and the US, it's common to get rigs included in standard homeowners and renters insurance policies. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

The medicaid plan is even better than we hoped....

Having lived in both Canada and the US, I've only seen treatment denied to the elderly in the US. Your assumptions are quite simply, false. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. -
I'm surprised. I would have thought you'd be drooling over one of these. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
