    Into the Wild

its out already? in theatres everywhere or just local ones where you are??
  2. monty is be-a-utiful.... but there's not a whole lot of funjumpers on a regular basis.... sometimes there's quite a few-sometimes there are just a few.. but the view is incredible... and so is monterey. i miss it lots.
  3. Just be careful. I just attended a funeral for one of my arabic instructors who was on leave in minnesota. He was 73, beat diabetes, reversed a bad heart condition, worked out every day and was really in good health. He decided to go out on a lake, by himself, in a kayak without a lifejacket. He subsequently slipped out, went underwater, and drowned. He also didnt know how to swim. Granted-alot of things should have been done differently. But it was still tragic. I still cant believe he overcame such illness only to die like that. At least he was happy. Illillika yah usted helmy.
  4. Well folks... I Love southwest. Check out there new "skimpy fare sale" and "mini sale" that they're offering to try to get some good out of this bad publicity. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20780771/ there have been so many different versions of this same story- but out of it, she got a personal phone call from the President, Colleen Barrett, 2 free tickets for future travel on Southwest, and another national apology on the Dr Phil show. But now she's considering taking legal action. anyhow.. now's the time to book some fares at www.southwest.com if you want to take advantage of short time mini offer

    how do you...

if you want to know how to say or write anything in arabic, let me know and i can translate some stuff for ya. and they support you, not the war.. but Iraq is where you are, so maybe something small from there-to show them you were thinking about them too while you were gone (though i'm sure they know it)

    how do you...

You could take a pic of yourself in uniform in front of something that means something to you over there and put it on a card that says thanks for all of your support. They have those handy dandy card makers, or you can print up a 4*6 and put it on a sheet of paper with your own personal message for each individual person if you'd like. and yes... thank you as well, for all you do.
  7. umm... check with the baggage service office at the airport (or call them). Sometimes they have a bunch in a box behind the counter. And/or... if you're at a hotel, check with the front desk. Same thing-folks leave them in rooms all the time. Usually they'll throw the box up on the counter and let you look through it to find one if they've got em. and next time fly southwest!
  8. "Without a viable alternative agricultural product, it will be very difficult to persuade farmers to stop cultivating opium poppies.56 It is a lucrative business. According to the UN, a hectare (approx. 2.5 acres) of poppies yielded $4,600 in 2004 (67 percent less than in 2003 because of excess supply). A hectare of wheat, in comparison, yielded about $390. Most of the illegal profits flow into the pockets of powerful warlords and traffickers. Still, the average annual income for opium farmers is three times the national average." This comes from Countries in Perspective, a site put out by the Defense Language Institute. Here's the link for Afghanistan... http://lingnet.org/areaStudies/perspectives/afghanistan/default.htm and there are also other links to countries like Iraq, Iran, China etc. I picked option 2.. because I think that if we are capable of lending assistance, then we should at least try. Just cause the Taliban are a fucked up group of individuals doesnt mean that the whole country is. And.. side note, i highly reccommend the book The Kite Runner by Khaled Hossini, along with his new book A Thousand Splendid Suns.
  9. stop in LA, have a nice dinner, see a movie, do some shopping, and get back on the road after 9pm. Or find your inner kid and spend the afternoon at 6flags magic mtn! You'll probably STILL hit traffic, but it wont be as bad-lol. other than that-a few years ago i would have suggested 210-15 route, but now its so congested and backed up-all through corona and lake elsinore then murietta and temecula... yuck yuck yuck. just keep telling yourself that once you get there, you'll be able to unwind and relax. Oh.. and bring a good book on tape or some nice soothing music!! Good Luck!
  10. yup. there've been some pretty interesting uniform pieces over the years. I cant imagine working in those things though!! Some days we're in the air for 12hours-it'd Kill my feet!! They may not look as sexy, but i'll take khaki pants and polo shirts with tennies to work in every day over nylons and high heels!
  11. yup yup. this was Southwest in the 70s. At least the hotpants were shorts/skorts! There are some old videos on Southwest.com's websites too.
  12. someone else mentioned the fact that our flight attendants used to dress kinda like that, back in our opening days- in hot pants and all. Thats all changed-but in this video, you can see a few shots of those hotpants and luv bites from back in the day. at any rate... I LUV this airline-and the party they show in San Diego was a blast. http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/i_video/main500251.shtml?id=3228291n
  13. what would have been more offensive to you (or her) to step off the a/c and ask her to wear something less revealing (which he did-only she didnt have any clothes with her-he didnt know that) or to just walk up and offer her a blanket and ask her to cover up? Cause that doesnt usually blow over too well. People know what they're wearing when they put it on. They're looking for attention. and in the written article, it says that she was in the jetway.. so...... again, i'm pretty darn sure she was off the a/c when he was talking to her.
  14. she says in the front of the plane where the doorway is... the jetway is at the front door of the a/c. she'd have been standing off the a/c and in the jetway. She says at first she thought she had left something in the gate area. later she says that she was in the front of the plane and everyone heard-and though I wasnt there... I'm pretty darn sure she'd have been off the a/c and in the jetway. and did you see when she sat back down in the seat on the video!?! she has some nice white panties she's wearing. Who knows what she was wearing, if any when she boarded the a/c.
  15. He asked her to step off of the plane and when they were in the jetway, he told her that her clothing was inappropriate and asked her to change her clothes.
  16. No really... This chics outfit is nothing... though that picture is the 'pulled down' version of the skirt, I dont know that I'd have had a problem with it. These working girls though- yeah. They leave NOTHING to the imagination. Whats really funny is I was just having this same discussion with another airline's flight attendant last night! Sure-it IS a free country, wear pretty much whatever you want... But when it becomes offensive-or if your skirt is so short you dont wear panties for fear of unstylish pantylines, and you leave behind 'stuff' on the seat when you leave-thats just wrong! On the other side of the spectrum, my favorite line i've ever heard to tell a guy to zip his fly was, " Hey sir, i'll trade you a bag of these nuts if you'll put away yours"
  17. man that girl is just craving attention. The flight attendant pulled her off the aircraft and addressed her in the jetway, not in front all the passengers-the only reason people were staring at her was because of what she was wearing. And now bringin it up on Today show? Uggh. and.. this kinda thing happens ALOT. ya wanna see folks dressed like this? Go to any SoCal airport on a Friday night and sit at the gates where the flights are going to Las Vegas. Them workin girls often try to get a leg up on their trips.. haha edited to add: and yeah... i've had to ask girls to cover up or take a later flight as well... but see through tops without a bra underneath is pushing the envelope a little too much!
  18. OOOUUUCCHHHH. using a blender (albeit a bad one) as a vibe!? la shukran
  19. i did i did. but i guess i only read the reviews on the freakin site. but.. if we were to put the fun back in the thread, the bullet is my favorite toy

    Ron Paul

anyone know if these are on the internet now instead of tv? and/or where i could find it?
  21. Ya know those As Seen on TV infomercials? Well.. late one night, that magic bullet seemed kinda cool (the blender, not the vibrator) anyhow.. i always thought about ordering it... and on a major home furnishing spree a few weeks ago, I went ahead and did just that. but it sucks. They make it look so easy with their "presto" and "1, 2, 3, you're done!" not quite. the food gets stuck in the base, it doesnt chop ice, and its taken me a million years to do little jobs. grrr. think i'll send it back-but i'll still be out the 20bucks they ridiculously charge for shipping oh well. teach me.
  22. does it matter what kind of vinegar? like-regular? apple cider? or do i need it at all? and Thanks for all the tips!
  23. and no ralffers... you're not a retard.. i'm sure if you read the directions-you'd follow them.. haha. ah well.
  24. i stand corrected. I am an idiot. I just re-read the online instructions and apparently i skipped the capital letters that said boil the water over HIGH heat , then reduce heat to medium/low for an extra 10minutes. Hmmm... But here's the next part of the question.... How do you make deviled eggs??
  25. yesterday was boiling like crazy... todays has been the bubbly kind of boiling... but literally its been like that for an hour. How long does it take??
