Sure it does. Each "anecdote" is a news story, backed-up with names and places, easily verifiable. Each one of those self-defense shooting incidents is one data point. And there are dozens or hundreds of them happening every day. Collectively, those data points become statistics. And what they show is that guns are quite often used in self defense in the hands of ordinary citizens. Professional studies have shown that such events happen as much as 2 million times per year. Simply anecdotes? Hardly. As for your other point, yes, guns can do either good or harm. So the question you should ask is, which occurs with greater frequency? Look up those anecdote-statistics, and you'll find that self-defense cases far outweigh incidents of children being shot in their own home by daddy's gun. And it's up to the parents to weigh the risks and rewards and decide if a gun is right for them, and what safeguards are necessary. I'm fully in favor of every law-abiding citizen having the right to make that choice for themselves. Sometimes tragedies happen, and we should work to educate people to reduce those. But taking guns away from everyone, leaving them defenseless against criminals, would be an even greater tragedy. Wow. I might not always agree with the pro gun (and I don't use that term in a negative way) has to say, but that post was very well said. Nicely done.

Actually, they didn't post it to Youtube, it was a local site and then it got linked to from there. Secondly, they weren't caught because they posted the video. Police had 2 of the 3 pegged as being involved before the video was posted. Finally, the reason I posted that is because you insisted that the people responsible for the violent protest were unemployed, students or living off the underground economy. You can't prove that. Not even remotely. When they list the professions of each one arrested, then you can make that claim. I was pointing out that 2/3rds of those who have been charged in a similiar act of 'activism' were none of those things you mentioned. In fact, one of them was part of the very group that you gave 'two thumbs up' to. Kinda wrecks your point, doesn't it...

I'd be interested in seeing where you read that the vast majority of the violent protestors were unemployed youth. The reason I say that was that of the 3 people that they arresting in the firebombing of the bank in Ottawa, 2 of them were professionals (one was retired, the other was an ENGINEER (two thumbs up still??))

Best night CRW memory... Canadian Nationals 1996. We were competing in 4 way rotations. We went to do a night jump out of the Caravan and slammed it together very quickly. Just like SkyPuppy says...almost as bright as day - especially with the full moon at our back. We decided to start yelling out our "INCOMING" and "GO" even though we were just flying around in our original 4 stack. We got to the ground and they could hear us. They thought we were bad-ass doing night rotations!!

Not sure about the whole staff, but Kirk Muller strikes me as a great assistant coach. Just watch when he talks on the bench. Those players are just riveted to what he has to say. He's always the one planning out the plays at the end of game when they call time-outs. No doubt he will be head coach very, very soon.
