  1. I'll be thinking of you! Take good care. At least we'll get to see a lot of you online while you heal! Julie TPM Sister #102
  2. Everyone else knows, but you call yourself a NooB so for your sake, I'll give you the caveat that I'm biased. YES, the time would be well worth it and you can't go wrong with our instructors. Talk to the tunnel about getting coached time and find out what the instructors' coaching rates are. I'm not sure if this is available to you if you've never flown in the tunnel at all--but I would strongly suggest asking, anyway! TPM Sister #102

    Bad news...

I'm so sorry. Best wishes for a safe and timely trip! TPM Sister #102
  4. 1. You are friggin' HUGE (not that you can tell by your SVCO pic--which, by the way, I think you should make into your avatar). 2. THAT'S THE PLACE! Good stuff. TPM Sister #102
  5. LOL--Excellent! I can do okay in the tunnel but the sky is different and where I really need help is under canopy. I'll get there! And thanks for being willing to pass on the favor. TPM Sister #102
  6. Oh, I'm thinking we won't be jumping together just because I have FOUR jumps (woohooo!) and have not completed AFF, whereas you have your D license . . . . Even if I had my A license by the time you got here, you could jump circles around me. I think I'll be okay in free fall but landing . . . not so pretty! (I have an instructor who politely pointed out that I just need more landings to make them better. I stood up the first one; just need to duplicate THAT!) Okay, we'll nail down the sushi for you! Guess you might tolerate it. . . .
  7. Geez, now I'm all excited that you're moving here and it's still about four months away! You're gonna have to hurry up. Anyway, let's see . . . food in the Springs . . . . There are plenty of Mexican restaurants and there's a great little sushi place down there but it's one of those little strip mall places so if you like sushi, let me know and I'll find out where it was that we went. Carl, do you remember???? Of course, there's all the standard stuff as well, so you won't go hungry. Anyway, there's also a John Holly's next to the tunnel and it's fantastic, too. I don't know as much up by the dz, but they have Chili's, Wahoo's, Starbucks, Wendys and a Bear Rock Cafe, so you won't starve there, either. We'll have to have the people who know Longmont show us both around. I don't know everyone in manifest up there, but Shannon will be working again this summer, I think, and she's great. We can introduce you to her because she'll be jumping and it's always good to know people like Shannon. Do you prefer RW or free flying? We'll also find some people for you to jump with so you're not too bored. I obviously won't be jumping with you but there are plenty of people around who can. Okay, I might have moved from "welcoming" into "creepy," so I'll shut up. Don't worry about the move, though. Colorado is a great place and you won't have any trouble settling in. TPM Sister #102
  8. LOL--Yes, Derek and Kelli are here and they fed me an amazing Thanksgiving dinner in addition to everything else.
  9. Ahh, I KNEW I liked you! But let's just say that I'm a junkie with a really bad habit. It's a bad sign when you need a rigger just so you have someone who can make a pocket in your suit to hold your iPod. Maybe one day, I'll graduate to reserve repacks. For now, though, he has made me a weight belt, been my Ouragan dealer, and created a special strap for me to put around my too-big student suit when I was learning HD. (Thank you, Hooknswoop!
  10. Ah, I don't know why the WHORE word didnt enter my head. I heard that when Eloy opened they called it the crackpipe because everyone stopped eating and bought tunnel time.Quote Definitely a crackpipe. My instructors are dealers and I'm always looking for just one more rotation. TPM Sister #102
  11. We settled on "Tunnel Whore" in the crack-whore sense . . . . I guess I can't object when it's true. Just for clarification, this has nothing to do with being passed around the tunnel like some women get passed around fraternities. It's the "I've gotta have more" connotation. Thankfully, a friend of mine discarded the "Tunnel Slut" option, as it was his assessment that I had not yet QUITE reached the "do anything for tunnel time" phase. Anyway, being a "Tunnel Rat" is probably kinder! TPM Sister #102
  12. I love Spain, but I'm holding out for the new Empuriabrava tunnel before I make a trip. Oh--and I say "Condolences." (That makes my hijack okay, right?) TPM Sister #102
  13. Just a point of clarification: As much as I'd love the honor, *I'M* not tunnel staff. They just let me be a groupie. Well, okay, we came up with another term for it but you get the idea. Wine works. I can't claim any real knowledge about it, but you don't have to do shots. We need a place like Atlanta has--the Atlanta Wine School. But, I digress. We can still muddle through and figure it out ourselves! TPM Sister #102
  14. Don't worry about getting drunk. You can sit around and not get drunk with me. (Hmmm, way to sell THAT one, huh?! ) As for being depressed, it may be an adjustment but hopefully it won't be too bad. You'll have to tell us when you officially arrive, so we can have a welcome committee haul you out to play. TPM Sister #102
  15. That's GREAT that we get another skydiver around here! If you get here late February/early March, you'll still catch some snow but you won't have long until it's summer and there's a lot to be said for both. Colorado has something for everyone. Even when we have snow, we're not usually frozen and shut in all winter. It's beautiful and there are TONS of things to do. I know that the "transition" mode can be really tough but I also hope you are looking forward to coming. Like psipike02 said, if you're willing to take your chances and hang out with us, we can start booking tunnel time now . . . but I don't think you can manifest quite so far out. TPM Sister #102
  16. I'm so sorry. I hope you'll be able to make it to the services. I wish you the best in getting through this one! TPM Sister #102
  17. Deep breath. Sounds like this one is a marathon and not just a sprint. I'll keep you both in my prayers as well. TPM Sister #102
  18. Yes, I understand who they are. Attorney discipline is important and I'm all for it when it's deserved. We have a professional responsibility of candor to the tribunal and perjury would definitely cross that line. I've never argued against that. I am now tired of telling you that I am not arguing the facts in this case, that that was never my point or my goal. This is the last time I'm telling you that. Abuse of the system can and does happen. On the other hand, the court reached its conclusions based on the evidence and testimony before it. The original question to which I responded pertained to wondering what the other side of the story is. There apparently IS another side, or the outcome of the case would've been different. I've said all I can say on this subject and have already moved into repeating myself. There's no need for that, so I'm done. TPM Sister #102
  19. No issues, no drama? How are you going to get people to commit to staying off dz.com??? TPM Sister #102
  20. Thanks, but I'll just make some educated guesses for free! TPM Sister #102
  21. LOL--I have a tunnel addiction. There is no $$$ sitting around anywhere, other than on SVCO's books! Yeah . . . Andy . . . I'll just wish for the cash! TPM Sister #102
  22. Very clearly, there is still the misperception that I am arguing on behalf of the judge and attorney. The only thing I am arguing is that they are entitled to bring the lawsuit without being disbarred. I have NOTHING against the Kirlins and wish them well. And no, I'm not going to go look at the video. It's missing the point. I've said more than once that adverse possession is fact intensive and I don't know the facts. The points I have tried to make do not hinge on the specific facts of the Kirlins' case. My points are essentially this: -Our society allows people to bring lawsuits. If the shoe was on the other foot, many people would be clamoring to "have their day in court." Having your day in court is not the same thing as guaranteeing a win. -Sometimes the problem is not the plaintiff; sometimes it's the court that hears the case (in which case you may consider an appeal), sometimes it's the law that leads to a given result (in which case, it's time to change the law, and sometimes it's something altogether different. -Sometimes seemingly "unfair" results arise because wonderful people haven't taken enough measures to protect their rights. I'm not saying the Kirlins failed to adequately protect their rights or that it's their "fault" that they lost the case. It's a broad statement. Anyway, I don't want this to go to SC--there's a reason I stay out of that place!
  23. No more than mine! If we could win something on the road, it would be nice. Okay, carry on with the spanking. TPM Sister #102
  24. Oh, so COOL!! I wish I had a random $1,000 just sitting around looking for a way to be spent!
