  1. Today's just not a good technological day, I guess. Our IT guy says AT&T is having nationwide issues with data transmission today (so no BlackBerry). TPM Sister #102
  2. I'm with you. I just wasn't up on my current events this morning! Sounds like it's better to be ignorant, in this case! TPM Sister #102
  3. ROFL! I'm with bigway. I'd rather hear about the massive internet outage than Britney. TPM Sister #102
  4. Sectioned? What are they doing, drawing and quartering her? As for the internet, what a fiasco! I'd be lost. TPM Sister #102

    Suit

I have an Ouragan free fly suit that hooknswoop helped customize so that it would be reinforced for use in the tunnel. Yes, I know they have a tunnel suit, but we just modified their free fly suit and it's great. I can't say enough about how much I've enjoyed it! Just be careful--tunnelmom found that the legs on her suit were problematic in the tunnel because they just used velcro with open slits down at the ankles, so the legs caught a lot of wind and it was a problem for sit flying. She loves her suit and was going to have that modified, but it's something to keep in mind when you're ordering, no matter who you go through. TPM Sister #102
  6. I was actually afraid YOU were going to start confessing. I was kind of afraid to open the thread. TPM Sister #102
  7. "Just" knowledge? I'd still say it's better than the alternative. TPM Sister #102
  8. A few year's worth of effort now is much easier to put in than to try to pick it up again later, should she decide that she needs to or wants to. There's nothing wrong with wanting to own and run a restaurant (very entrepreneurial!), but in many ways a college education is fairly basic and restaurant owners need to be savvy business people. A college degree can help. In fact, many schools offer degrees in such things as hotel and restaurant management. That seems like an excellent foundation for starting her restaurant, and she'll learn to think, to put a business plan together, to manage . . . . I think that degree should be a minimum requirement that she asks of herself, especially since she has a family supporting and encouraging her along those lines. This isn't a slam against anyone who has made different choices. There are plenty of very successful non-college graduate business owners out there and it doesn't mean your daughter wouldn't do a great job of it without a degree as well. However, she'll never undo the education and it's a good thing to have on a resume no matter WHAT she ends up doing over the course of her career. TPM Sister #102
  9. When they say "enclosed in an enormous clear cylinder," it makes me wonder if they mean iFly style or if they're just trying to describe a wind tunnel. It'll be nice to hear some details on this one. TPM Sister #102
  10. LOL--I was just wondering that same thing about Andy! With him, ANYTHING is possible! TPM Sister #102
  11. Yeah, but they did it on four legs, not just two! TPM Sister #102
  12. Those losses are so tough. Pets aren't perfect, but in many ways they are able to keep from letting us down in many of the ways people can--and they ask so very little in return! Saying goodbye is terribly difficult to do. My heart goes out to you and your wife. TPM Sister #102
  13. I don't know the factual scenario we're talking about here, but yeah--deception is no good. Even if they're trying to spare your feelings, they should do it with gentle honesty instead of, um, diversionary tactics. TPM Sister #102
  14. What kind of soul searching are we talking about? If they're trying to find answers to God, the universe and everything, I'd say it's a different situation than someone who is trying to decide, say, whether they want you as their spouse. On the whole, though, I don't think one has to preclude the other. Even if you're trying to decide what you want in a relationship, it doesn't mean you have to stop dating until you decide what that looks like--but it may not be very fair to the person you're dating in the meantime. I'd also say it's a different situation of Person A says they're not dating for a while because they need to do some soul searching and then they show up with Person B on their arm immediately thereafter. In that case, I'd say they're not doing as much soul searching as they thought they were. TPM Sister #102
  15. The only two words you needed: "Hockey" and "playoff." You do what you have to do! You can justify a lot of weird stuff for hockey playoffs and it all makes sense. TPM Sister #102
  16. My dog is another fan of soap, but she also likes body lotion. Blech. Chester, one of the cats, has a penchant for the little plastic pill capsules. I really have to watch him because he'll eat those like they're going out of style and I don't want him getting one with medicine in it. If he can't have that, potato chips are a close second. Lily, the other cat, will eat pretty much anything but is a big fan of spaghetti. She also likes mashed potatoes but it depends on where you get them from. She's picky--they must come from the right restaurant or they get ignored. TPM Sister #102
  17. Wait--new haircut? Where are the pics? TPM Sister #102
  18. I have to disagree. To me, a combover says, "I have no idea what I really look like." Then again, it depends on how much combover we're really talking about. A slight combover is nowhere near as bad as a big ole swirl, which I have seen, too. That was just plain social maladjustment. On the other hand, what's wrong with letting a little scalp show through? I think it usually looks better than trying to cover things up, especially since we can all see how much hair is gone with a combover, anyway. And then, there are men who just look really good with a shaved head, whether they have male pattern baldness or not. TPM Sister #102
  19. Generally, yes. Mhhhmmmm. Yes. I voted "depends on the guy" because, let's face it, some men just shouldn't go there. On the whole, however, the answer is YES. TPM Sister #102

    New dog!

My little one needs a tooth cleaning but can't take the anesthesia. I think I'm going to have to find someone who can deal with her while she's awake. TPM Sister #102
  21. Wanna see my . . . Nope, just can't do it, Walt! TPM Sister #102

    New dog!

Ew. I think I might've dated someone like that once. The infatuation wasn't enough to overcome the halitosis. TPM Sister #102
