Have you seen "Kill Bill Vol. 1"? Uma Thurman has nasty feet.

Driving home from the DZ a few years ago a drunk pedestrian (.25 BAC) decided to cross a 4-lane highway in the middle of the night. He mis-timed his sprint and I hit him doing 50 mph. He was in a coma for a while, but he lived. I was a little bit rattled, to put it mildly.

The passenger (an experienced skydiver) is trying to spit on the TM.

Both companies have been receptive to orders as small as one component when I've used them in the past. If he asks nicely Phree may be able to get the part as a free sample.

One day after high school I was giving this cute jewish girl a ride home. I started the car, the radio turned on (as radios are wont to do), and what came blasting out? "I want a steamy little Jewish princess / with overworked gums, who squeaks when she cums." During which time I was frantically trying to turn the CD player back to radio mode, change tracks, turn the radio off, whatever. I figured the damage was done and I would never recover, but it turned out she was a Zappa fan. I guess it actually helped. My song? I dunno. Ben Folds Five's "Philosophy" is one of the few songs that has stuck with me for years and years.

Was that the really shitty "for teens" version of "The Taming of the Shrew"? The one with, "I've got a dick on my face, don't I?"

Exactly. You never have to use the photo function. The Photos also have a color screen.

The 40GB iPod was discontinued in February. If you want to go bigger than 20GB you are limited to the iPod Photo 30 or 60GB.

Last summer I was driving through Ohio when I came up behind a car on a trailer. It took me a second to realize it was a DeLorean, and a couple more seconds to realize that it had all of the BTTF gear: the vent/fin things, the Mr. Coffee, and once I was really close I could see over the lip on the trailer and the wheels were folded down for flight. No OUTATIME license plates, though. I couldn't tell if it was an "official" DeLorean or a ridiculously dedicated fan.

There's a course right down the street from me. I walk over and throw a round about once a week. No special discs, I just have a couple of freebies that the local club handed out when the course opened. At my level it doesn't really matter anyway.

Recently: - I tried to read Jared Diamond's "The Third Chimpanzee" but I just couldn't stand it. I've heard "Guns, Germs, and Steel" and his new one are better, so I'll try those when I have a chance. - "Full House", Stephen Jay Gould. Excellent book about why increasing complexity does not necessarily represent evolutionary progress and why nobody bats .400 anymore. - "Compass", Alan Gurney. About the evolution of the marine compass. - "Hamlet", Shakespeare. I hadn't read Shakespeare since my freshman year of high school. I finally sat down with a good annotated copy of Hamlet and really enjoyed it. Currently: - "The Deceivers", Thaddeus Holt. All about Allied deception campaigns in WWII. Very well researched. It's interesting and extremely thorough but really f'ing long (1200 pages). It's one of those books that are tedious to read straight through but would enjoyable to read a chapter or two at a time in between other books. Since I got it from the library, I doubt I'll finish it. Up next: I use my Amazon wishlist to keep track of the books that I want to read.

Hmmm, has there EVER been any canopies with an even number of cells made and/or tested, such as a 6 cell, 8 cell or 10 cell? If not, why not? Just curious... Here's a 6-cell. 8-cell and 10-cell canopies also exist.

I've been using Picasa for about a month now and I'm hooked as well. The levels adjustment doesn't work as well as I would like, but other than that I haven't found anything wrong with it. I love that it never touches the original file, nor does it clutter the disk with new files. I also love the Gift CD option. All of the graphics for the slideshow program are in one psd file, so you can change the look of the Gift CD with Photoshop. You can also edit the cdgo.tre file to remove the "Go to Picasa" button. I've replaced all of the logos with my contact info. One gripe about the Gift CD: As far as I can tell, you can only burn an entire folder to CD, not just certain files. If I accidentally put a few jumps in one folder I have to go in and move the one I want to put on the CD to a new folder.

Z-lining is frequently a timed ban... It may automatically expire after a few days or weeks. If it's a permanent ban you will have to contact the administrators of the IRC server that the Pub runs on and beg forgiveness. You might try logging into the pub from an IP that isn't banned and executing the command "/join #Services" and explaining your situation to one of the people in there. As a side note, z-lines are automatic bans for what is considered extremely rude or disruptive behavior. Things like rapid nick changes, flooding, many logins from the same computer, acting like a bot, etc... Stuff like that is disruptive for everybody on the server, including plenty of people who have never heard of dropzone.com or the Pub.

No. The LANC port uses a serial communications protocol to talk to the camera. The CamEye actually has a little bitty computer built into the button. It can send messages to the camera like "turn on", "turn off", "start recording" and the camera can send messages back like "ok, i'm recording" or "i'm almost out of tape". Canon shutter releases are just dumb switches with no brains at all. You close the circuit, the camera takes a picture.

I've had no troubles filiming 4 way or tandems from it. Much like a Caravan.... That PAC I jumped at Rantoul had a step similar to the Caravan we had last year (big enough for two people, a ways back from the door). The PAC we have at Sky Knights this year has a tiny little step immediately aft of the door. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but for now it's a world of difference.

It's up here. Marvel at my unsteady hand, lame editing, and the audio dropping out randomly.

"She is soooooo drunk." "He's got an arm off!"

I've been doing leading exits. I was doing leading exits last year when we practiced from a Caravan, and I'll be doing leading exits from Twin Otters at meets this year, so I might as well keep practicing leading exits. I have to leave a bit earlier and be more aggresive getting over the top, but it isn't a big deal.

I've owned both. I'd keep the Spectre.

I've only got a few out of our PAC yet. I've seen at least two types of camera step "in the wild". Ours has a tiny little step immediately behind the door. It's only big enough for one foot, and it's really close to the door, so double pain in the ass. I like to trail my right foot for 4-way exits. So, on climbout I put my right foot on the little step (it takes some practice to get it on the first try), grab the tail-end of the bar with both hands, do sort of a chinup, and switch my feet. Then I keep my left hand on the bar, right hand resting on top of the fuselage for balance, and right foot trailing. It's a bit complicated, and there might be a simpler way, but I haven't had many jumps to play around with it.

Dude! I just found my orange vest while I was cleaning out my gear bag yesterday. And that reminds me, I edited the video of the porta-potty prank last September and still haven't posted it.
