    Costumes

I think my idea (attached) for a costume would work as a freefly suit.

    Desktop pictures

Martijn van Dam has soom cool backgrounds on his site.
  3. According to the article he's already been elected once, in the early 90s.
  4. First, there is no such thing as "minor" surgery on your scrotum. And I think you missed number 3, "Attaching sheets of paper to each other."
  5. I would be more concerned if he had bought the 105 because the 120 looked bad in his container.
  6. It's also illegal to sell booze in Zion. Not a funny law, but a dumb one. Also, it is illegal to mispronounce "Joliet" inside the city limits of Joliet, IL.

    Online Vendors

buy.com bastards I have had stuff that has been in this limbo for months. It is really annoying. Like you said, I wish they'd just tell me they don't have it. They have also, on at least two occasions, offered extremely low prices on preorder computer parts and then rescinded the offer when the items became available. Of course, if you wanted to cough up full retail, you could still get your preorder.
  8. With Win2k Pro you could probably put a second ethernet card in your machine and configure it to be a gateway. I would still probably buy a hardware router like the LinkSys because it's easier to setup (personal opinion), doesn't depend on your computer being turned on, and you might be able to find a used one for less $$$ than a new name-brand 10/100 network card.
  9. Get a router that is built for the purpose, like a LinkSys EtherFast.
  10. I wouldn't risk giving up all of the high points to get rid of a couple of low points.
  11. That is cool. I like the colors on my Spectre just fine: Orange with blue ribs and a black center cell. Skymedic seems to think that it's too bright or something... I call it cutaway insurance.

    Paintball Tips

My hubby was paintballing on Sunday, and came home a-limpin. He did continue the game, though! Spent the evening applying ice. Have a blast! I've only gone once, and it was huge fun. You'll only get shot in the nuts if you aren't wearing a cup. I think it's the universe's way of punishing people with a lack of common sense.
  13. The answer is simple. Edit->Select All. Format->Paragraph->Line Spacing->2.5.
  14. I like the part where they say that trespassing shouldn't be illegal if you plan on making a BASE jump.
  15. My favorite: "Nice pictures, but you couldn't pay me to jump out of an airplane in a raft...I'm no tard."
  16. Is that just for the Mindwarp? I thought fullface liners were baked sans-helmet, but I could be wrong.
  17. Oh yeah, my numbers: 0:3:0 Took a Cessna ride to help get an S/L student's load off the ground. The JM spotted for me. Ever see the look on a pilot's face when you get to the spot, then the spotter says "Did I say west over the hanger? I meant east, sorry." I would have got out... Then a [tony the tiger]grrrreeeat[/tony] two way that we planned on the way to altitude. I didn't catch the guy's name and he was gone by the time that I realized it, so now I have this blank in my log book. That jump also took me half way to the century mark. Finally, a nice solo to end the day. Even got an extra thousand feet because of a go-around due to traffic below.
  18. Believe it or not, a lot of people get parts of their A card pencil-whipped. Also, a lot of dropzones rent gear as one piece. Phree may have been hooking up the canopy to his risers (which may technically be rigger territory, I seem to recall a debate about this). It seems to me that the DZO saw Erik doing something other than his way, called him incompentent, and lost future business because of it. Erik is probably doing the guy a bigger favor than he deserves by not mentioning who it is.
  19. Take it with a grain of salt... I heard somebody somewhere tell a potential landlord to ask him/her self, "Would I be willing to evict a single mother and her children if she couldn't make payments?"
  20. Speaking as a recent high school student: If he takes that phone to school, it will most likely not stay in his backpack, and it most certainly won't stay turned off. A lot of my friends had cellphones, and they would all mute the ringer and pocket it. I just got off of the phone with my mom (I'm being sued, yay!). Anyway, she works at a middle school and says that they confiscate any phones that they find. Guess who has to come and claim them?
  21. Every year our club sets up a booth at Quad Day, an event where many of the students on a campus of 40,000 come to check out the available clubs and activities. This year we got hellacious sunburns, and 700 names and email adresses from interested students. When we had our first informational meeting, probably 50 people showed up. Less than half of them paid their dues and joined the club. We will have more students coming from word of mouth, and the newspaper article, and if last year is any indication we will take around 150 people for their first skydive this school year. That's only a little more than one third of 1% of the student body.
