  2. You might find "Blind Search" to be interesting... http://blindsearch.fejus.com/ On that site, you can type in a query and it gives results for Bing, Google, and Yahoo but doesn't tell you which is which. Then you can vote what you think were the best results. -- Turn off the internet! 3. It seems as if this law has been struck down. While looking into this issues one time before when it came up, I found the following article: http://www.nytimes.com/2005/01/26/national/26repeal.html Although it's on another topic, it does state: "Florida has struck down a law forbidding unmarried women from parachuting on Sundays." I remember e-mailing the author to try to find out when this occurred but got no response. --Head -- Turn off the internet! 5. Same here. I go through that before having to deal with the bull that comes with going through the metal detector any day. I also say people should be given the choice: x-ray or metal detector. --Head -- Turn off the internet! 8. Machine-free flight would definitely be the coolest. Since that's off-limits, I think I'll go with being able to jump multiple times my body length (like a cat jumping up onto a table or counter top). It could be somewhat useful. It'd also be fun. --Head -- Turn off the internet! Join Citizens United Negating Technology For Life And People's Safety! http://www.citizensunitednegatingtechnology.org/

Voices have been altered to protect identities, it's not a company of elves." This had me stifling laughter at work. It's kinda NSFW due to language (I have headphones) and a bit of hilarious imagery at the end. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_X0rVnfQK3Y --Head -- Turn off the internet! My favorite line from the article: Aboard the plane, one member of the press corps entertains his colleagues by flopping down the aisle on his belly, like a fish. --Head -- Turn off the internet! 12. All I got so far is a phishing scam telling me I'm getting some money. I just have to give them my banking details by May 02th, 2008. I'm not sure if they mean the 2nd or the 20th, but 02th was in there twice. --Head -- Turn off the internet! 13. Wikipedia: A popular belief holds that it was impossible to fold a sheet of paper in half more than 7 times; usually it is difficult to reach even 6 times. This has been publicly debunked by a high school student named Britney Gallivan, using toilet paper and folding it in "Single Direction Folding". The television series MythBusters busted the myth of the 7 folds by folding taped together sheets in half and turning it 90 degrees each time, for a total of 11 folds. This was accomplished using 17 large rolls of paper taped together to form a very large yet relatively thin "sheet." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper_folding --Head -- Turn off the internet! 15. You would think everyone should know this but when making a right turn on red, you have to: look left to see if there's traffic coming; look ahead to see if someone across from you has left green arrow and is about to turn in front of you; look a little to the right to see if someone is making a u-turn; and look further right into where you're turning so you don't run into someone/something. You can't just "clear to the left" and turn, especially at an intersection like in the picture. Also: Green Light > Red Light. --Head -- Turn off the internet! 18. Ah yes. Of coarse. I misread the question. It's about whether or not they should be allowed to have bear arms. I still vote yes. --Head -- Turn off the internet! Join Citizens United Negating Technology For Life And People's Safety! http://www.citizensunitednegatingtechnology.org/
  19. I voted Yes. I think that chopping off someone's arms because they are crazy is a little on the harsh side. --Head -- Turn off the internet! Join Citizens United Negating Technology For Life And People's Safety! http://www.citizensunitednegatingtechnology.org/
  20. >Yep. Da3ve Ruckert, somewhat notorious RW organizer. Never heard of anything like that before. I'm surprised it was allowed. I suppose it's pronounced like Dave. >The question is - how do you pronounce III? (I'm the third in a line of Bills) The posts have been about first names, not suffixes. 21. Da3ve is someone's legal first name? From you're profile, I take it that your first name is Bill. 22. On a related note, from the bonfire: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2912040; The couple wanted to name their baby "4real" but that got blocked. Now it's going to be named Superman. I think Pat and Sheena Wheaton need a mental evaluation. I think it's a shame that the government has put bounds on what parent's name their babies, but dumb-ass parents are pushing the boundaries. For English names I'd say: * letters only, no numbers, symbols, etc... * must be pronounceable * must be pronounced reasonably close to how it's spelled So, you can't call your baby "fa$%#g999" and when asked how to say it reply "it's beyond the capability of human vocal cords to properly pronounce the name". With respect to this story, Friday isn't the worst thing in the world but sure as hell isn't anything I'd name my kid. I can see the government stepping in to protect the kid, but it's going to far here. --Head -- Turn off the internet!
