True that it's a lot of paperwork. It costs a lot of money too. What's worse is finding an employer who is willing to go thru hell for your application. But I'm just suggesting another alternative that's more legit. Another alternative is luck. Believe it or not, the State department gives away green cards by means of a diversity lotto each year. Has she used up her "pratical training"? Every graduating foreign student is grated 1 year by the government to get practical work experience in their field of study before being sent back. And during this time, if they're worthy enough to get sponsored by their employer, they could get a work visa valid for 3 years, and a 3 year extension thereafter. So if she gets employed and the whole H-1B work visa deal goes though, she'll have until 2009 before deportation. My other ride is the relative wind.
