Most of the setups I've seen have the cable gaffer-taped along the edge of the helmet all the way down. I've thought of drilling a hole to pass the cable through and have it snug between the shell and padding, but drilling holes on an expensive setup makes me cringe. My other ride is the relative wind.

I've got mine set @ 4500, 3000, and 2000. It's quite normal for me to hear the 3rd alarm, and see a nice Diablo overhead. What's scary was one hop-n-pop from 3000. I pitched as soon I left, and it never beeped. My other ride is the relative wind.

I think it should be just fine. I was wearing one made by Giro when I started. The only thing to watch for is the snap secured loop on the back of the helmet that's meant to keep your googles in place. It's a snag potential, so keep your head down as you look over your shoulders to check your canopy on opening. My other ride is the relative wind.
