  1. OK Scottie.....your 48 hours is almost up! Give us the video.
  2. I have been to most European countries....my vote is Switzerland or Belgium. Belgium is perhaps a little under the radar but god damn it I loved it there.
  3. ...nor were they referred to as "daredevils". Definitely a great, well written piece. Right now on CNN.com it is the main story and pic on the upper left side of the site. kind of cool.....
  4. Dude......pitch those eggs from October!
  5. Another highlight was a 4 way diamond with stinger fly-by of a 6 way CRW stack on a sunset beach load at the end of the day Sunday with some nice puffies thrown in as a bonus. We tried last year but clouds rolled in and we had to abort. It was well worth the wait....and hopefully the video will be posted soon.
  6. Even with cheaper gas prices wouldn't it be cheaper and easier to fly? You'll save time and money. That is a loooong drive!
  7. ...no wingsuit, helmet, altimeter, clothes, etc.... but I do have my rig.
  8. I landed at noon and it has been raining for 4 hours....periods of downpours. Hopefully the system rains itself out so tomorrow will be nice. It would also be nice if my luggage got here....JetBlue fucked up the bag tag and my bag is "somewhere in the U.S."
  9. I remember the the annual fatality summary in Parachutist last year noted that there were 0 female fatalities for the year. In the last 5 years of published data on uspa (2003 to 2007) there have been 112 fatalities. Statistically there should be about 17 female fatalities as just about 15% of the USPA membership every year is women. I don't know the exact count but I don't think the number of women in this time period who have died is over 17. I also think women are much less likely to get injured in a high speed or swoop landing....
  10. A nice shout out to Wingsuit News on the Performance Designs website: Phoenix Fly wingsuiters Macca McDonald and Jarno Cordia recently launched the World Wide Wingsuit Blog, which focuses on wingsuits and everything related to the birdmen of the sky. Macca is a brilliant writer and Jarno puts together the most amazing videos, so you know this blog will be good (even if you aren't into wingsuits on a personal level). They have a few people contributing to the blog so that one should be frequently updated.
  11. I have a Blackberry 7130e and I almost got a Storm the week it came out. There was a waiting list (if you can believe it) and by the time I could by one I heard so many negative reviews I didn't buy it. Two people I know brought it back (the onlye 2 I know who bought one). From everything I have seen, read, and heard it COULD be a great phone IF they work out all the bugs and software issues. They probably should not have rushed the launch and just waited a few more months to get it right....what a shame.
  12. Why are you looking for this info and about Lear Jet DZ's in the other thread? Just curious....
  13. Probably because there isn't a skysurf forum......no need for a forum for the 3 people left who skysurf....oh wait, is it down to 2?
  14. What 'chew signing up for Hough? Pepp Boogie? J-Town? SDNE? ..or all of the above?
  15. Please add me to the waiting list: Steve Harrington
  16. I used to have good experiences (mostly buying tickets and buying/selling small items) but there are so many friggin' scammers now that I find it too cumbersome to deal with. Whatever you are trying to do on CL just be careful and never ever ever under any circumstances use Western Union as a payment system as it will 99.99% of the time be a scam. The good news is the scammers are pretty easy to spot...it is just a nuisance to deal with them. Funny...as I write this there is a story on the news about a Craigslist personal ad gone bad. A guy beat the crap out of a lady and threatened to kill her. So..don't use CL for personals.
  17. Jenn, I need to check the dates but I believe I can make it....please send me an invitation. Thanks! Steve Harrington - FlockU
  18. This is now the #1 story on the cnn.com homepage with pics of both Chip and the tandem student.
  19. Unfortunately very often. The baggage handlers are underpaid and undersupervised. Stuff gets clipped all the time. They have even busted tons of TSA baggage screeners that are allowed to open every bag. I try to keep small and expensive things with me on carry-on.
  20. "Man on Wire".....someone here recommended it and I just watched it. I liked it a lot.
  21. I had a pneumothorax years ago but it was due to trauma. The doctor advised to avoid certain activities for a few months. Other than that....good to go including SCUBA and Skydiving. I would ask your primary care physician (assuming this is a different doctor than the one who gave you this advise) what his or her opinion is. I would not "shop" for a doctor until you found one who told you what you want to hear but it wouldn't hurt to get another opinion or two from people who know specific details about your health history. It would suck if the answer was "not safe to jump" but life and health are too important to F around with....even if it is wingsuiting! LOL Good luck.
  22. Nice story....but mostly made up: http://www.snopes.com/glurge/warner.asp
  23. Viv, how are registrations looking this year compared to last year?
  24. But if his username was disabled he didn't get to read the "Go to Hell" post...did he? Does he have an alt e-mail address we can all send some "love notes" to? Kind of like reverse spam?
