what can i say............... thats how we do it at lASA I knew some people would say that crap about ruining the guys video. BUt no mattter what you post here someone is going to be critical or no how to do it better. I'm not even going to reply to that because you guys werent there and dont know the circumstances or who that tandem student was. Maybe he agreed to the squirrel being on the jump. Maybe he thought it was funny too. Anyway glad to share the pic with you guys that have senses of humor. If you guys like that you might like some other LASA classics. Theres a chiken jump on skydive movies, We also have a stuffed beaver jump. And dont even ask about the deer tandem. Oh yea that waterballoon pic in the previous post is wicked awesome I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll burn your fucking packing tent down.

lots of fur on this jump heres the picture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll burn your fucking packing tent down.

well once again im not going to argue survival techniques. I dont plan on being lost in the jungles of panama, so i doubt it matters to %99 of us anyway. However some of his statements and actions are very sound advice. Most of that jumping and climbing is for entertainment. The one I saw he went in a cave to look for fresh water. I dont see any thing wrong with that. In a dry cave rain water is filtered through the rocks and is much cleaner than stagnant surface water. basically you are drinking well water. I'm a cave diver, I drink cave water all the time. Its clean spring water though. Besides I doubt any of the people posting here really know anything about the outdoors anyway. Maybe some weekend hikers or bird watchers. My survival advice is dont get lost like a dumbass in the first place. In the age of cell phones and handheld GPS units you have no excuse. How does skydiving affect your lifestyle?
yarak replied to euser985's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
yea girls like it till they realize that when you said you skydive every weekend......you actually meant EVERY weekend. I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll burn your fucking packing tent down. -
who cares if you agree with his survival techniques or not. Its a tv show of course its staged. Its about ratings. I like watching him eat all that crazy stuff. What about that dead zebra he ate raw. that was wicked hillarious. JDL must really be survivior man getting on here talking smack about his rivals survival skills. I mean really dude parasites? Its better than starving to death. I'll just visit the doctor when i find my way out. You probably eat nastier stuff everyday that came off your nasty hands or someone elses. I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll burn your fucking packing tent down.

exactly its called production. You dont actually endanger your life by landing in a tree for a TV show. You stage it. Its a realistic scenario. Not a real stunt. I think the show is pretty well done. The show is suppose to be more informative than real. I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll burn your fucking packing tent down.

USPA - ASC, Pratville, Cedartown Group Members once more
yarak replied to AUSkyguy's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
and what does a inspection program have to do with the awesome fact that the USPA has seen the error of its ways and welcomed our DZ's back into their loving arms? -
L.A.S.A is indeed a member of the FAI. We are new to it though so we might not be on there yet. We are working on our GSL manual. Its like a SIM. I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll burn your fucking packing tent down.

I dont worry so much about the chest strap. I figure all the fat on there neck will cushion the strap from getting to any vital point. I have to agree that the sigma harness is no problem with the biggies. that peice of crap strong harness is unconfortable on almost every body type. I know of at least one DZ that is using strong rigs with sigma harness just for this reason. I'm 145 lb instructor so you know I get all the fatties at our DZ. Its kind of my specialty I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll burn your fucking packing tent down.

It might not have been the best AFF job in the world. But everybody has bad AFF exits every now and then. The count is usually messed up by the student anyway. I'm not saying their flying was superb but evrybody has some squirrelly jumps. After the JM lost grips she did some killer atmonauti on her back though
-
thats awesome!! Thats L.A.S.A. style right there. Makes me want to attach drink holders to the side of my helmet. I took a frozen squirrell on a tandem once. I hit it on the way to the DZ. I took it there and stuck it in the freezer. The next day i put in my jumpsuit. During the skydive I motioned to the videographer by pointing inside my jumpsiut. I then pulled the squirrel out and played puppeteer as the squirrel danced a little jig on the students head. I then gave the camera a close up of the squirrels face. If any one can top that please let me know. sometimes a TM just has to entertain himself. I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll burn your fucking packing tent down.

well i've been given a time out from the general board. Apparently my airplane burn was offensive or some nonsense. I mean come on we make fun of other skydivers when they mess up and walk away from it. Why cant we do that with pilots too. It was all in fun. I guess it was a sick burn!!! my bad sick burn!! I will earn my badge of A-holeism I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll burn your fucking packing tent down.

I keep getting locked out of forums for making jokes and having fun. I mean sure i made fun of a airplane crash, but come on no one was hurt. the pilot walked away. Cant we make a little humor from that? I can appreciate the power trip of the moderators as well as anyone. I like moderating with bias also. But come on. these are the most nit picky uptight people I have ever seen. the fact is that you guys need me. deep down you love me. If it werent for A-holes like me who would you get on here and team up against ? You know you love the conflict. I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll burn your fucking packing tent down.

ok i fixed it....now is it a funny joke? I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll burn your fucking packing tent down.

actually the report says its a Cessna 210 I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll burn your fucking packing tent down.

all fine unless you have a terminal opening. even if the canopy does maintain its integrity, the hard opening shock could render you unable to flare. I had such an opening that broke the students sternum and damaged me as well. It really hurt to flare that parachute. If I had been with broken ribs or something I probably couldnt have handled that much toggle pressure. The student couldnt flare with a fractured sternum. So we would have been screwed. I think its dumb to push the recommended wieght limit. Not worth 30 bucks IMO I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll burn your fucking packing tent down.

The L.A.S.A cessna is in need of some new parts. Does anyone know where we could pick up some old cessna parts for a cheap price? Maybe from a crashed c210 or something? will pay shipping from anywhere in the U.S. Even as far as boulder, Co. I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll burn your fucking packing tent down.

Which DZ`s in your state accept Skyride?
yarak replied to Thanatos340's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Thats cool no politics allowed at L.A.S.A. Besides its your loss. It will be the coolest DZ in the solar system. We are not in bed with anyone.......except your momma! ooooooooooooooooh! That just happened! I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll burn your fucking packing tent down. -

my bad, I meant L.A.S.A N.AS.A is our side project. they like rockets, trained monkeys, powdered orange flavored drinks, and cosmic stuff I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll burn your fucking packing tent down. -
At least the USPA ensures that people with responsiblity have at least some training and experience. (instructor ratings). All i can say is that the USPA is better than a government controlled sport. If it werent for the threat of the government screwing us all over I would say down with the USPA. Everyone run amuck and survival of the smartest. The problem is that someone dies and the government thinks they need to act to keep it from hapening again. The fact is that people die! Its the way nature works. We shouldnt allow the government to protect us from ourselves. At least the USPA is a temporary buffer zone between you and quasi-communism. in short, its the lesser of two evils. unfortuneatly thats what most of our freedom has been diluted down too over the last 230 yrs. The illusion of choice between two evils. The land of the free is now the land of the safety police. We cant escape the government, not even at 14000ft. They will tell you what you will and wont do. Because they own everything, and you have no God given rights unless they approve it. I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll burn your fucking packing tent down.

Which DZ`s in your state accept Skyride?
yarak replied to Thanatos340's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I will say this. skydive birmingham did exist when Pell City was open. And if you click on the directions it gives you precise location of the dropzone. Alot of dropzones advertise in a two hour radius. The good news is that now there actually is a skydive montgomery! and its only an hour and a half from birmingham. So that counts as skydive birmingham too, right? Lets be fair, skydive chicago is at least that far from chicago. It should be skydive ottowa. N.A.S.A is in no way affilitaed with ben or cary other than the fact that we accept skyride certs. It is a small club that is operating on a private field. Right now we are not on a set schedule. We are by appointment. I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll burn your fucking packing tent down. -

who said im joking? I think there are better uses of time and money, then trying to protect a whuffo from driving two hours instead of one hour. Things like saving sick children! Im just thinking of a cause that more than .00000000000000000000000001% of the population is aware of. by the way, The L.A.S.A dropzone in Alabama will accept skyride certs. You can add it too your very obscure T-shirt I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll burn your fucking packing tent down. -

we should have a bake sale to raise the money. Or maybe a lemonade stand? Or we could donate that money to a real worth while charity. Like cancer research or childrens hospital or something. I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll burn your fucking packing tent down. -
Tandem - broken bridle upon drogue release - what would you do?
yarak replied to cpoxon's topic in Instructors
you are right. i was thinking 430 lbs of people not including gear. I agree there is no way you are going to identify the mal while its happening. Thats what i was saying there isnt time for that. I guess the main thing that im thinking is if im opening a reserve at or near terminal. I might would like to still have the main, just in case the reserve is damaged from the shock. then at least i have more material. Plus maybe i will be lucky and the main will open clean. It is definately hard to say. Only hindsight is 20/20. Ive got 5 tandem cutaway's and everytime i follwed my the standard EP's that you described. In this situation muscle memory would probably take over and cause me to do the exact same. as far as dealing with a entanglement? I would do just that....... DEAL with it! Didnt mean to imply that i could "fix" it. I can damn sure try to fight it though! I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll burn your fucking packing tent down.
