  1. Bad logic. Very bad logic. You may fool yourself but it won't fool anyone else (except maybe Coreece). You have NO evidence to support your myths. BS you have no evidence to refute it.
  2. Like the uncertainty principle, that has never been observed to be violated in tens of thousands of experiments. Which is rather more experimental, repeatable, observable, falsifiable data than you have for the existence of your god (none at all). If God doesn't exist why, as a species ,have we sought Him for so many millennia? If there wasn't an evolutionary advantage to finding God, He would never have arisen in the first place. What evolutionary advantage could atheism possibly offer? And please, don't confuse atheism with science. Atheists have hijacked science like it was their own creation.
  3. If you want to believe, fine. If you seek to justify your delusions as valid, you are going to run into the same problems every time. Belief is orthogonal to logic, so using anything pretending to be logic to support belief is a fool's errand. BSBD, Winsor Maybe so. Science can only answer physical questions. Spirituality requires a whole different exploration. We either stick our heads in the sand or we search out the riches God has given us. For what I have found , I will gladly be a fool any day. ...
  4. In other words..."How dare you ask a hard question, that cuts right to the heart of why many people choose to reject my snake oil? I don't have an answer for you, so I will try to make you uncomfortable for asking." Not even close. The question is not difficult but it is an obvious attempt at baiting. As any atheists will tell you, this world and everything in it evolves and changes according to the preexisting, well defined laws of physics. Life on this planet is a very violent process of survival. God calls us in the midst of the chaos and evil to cleanse ourselves through His Son. God is without defect and call us to be like Him. We all have intrinsic value in the Eyes of God, no one is more important than the other.
  5. Why? Your involvement or self imposed exile from God's Plan has been known from the beginning. God's Plan will be accomplished with or without you.
  6. I'm still waiting for an answer to my questions. Are you just refusing to answer, or do you not have an answer? I posted this several pages back. The questions are in bold type. You stated that you believe that God intervened and saved your child. Giving the enormous amount of suffering in Africa that is, only now, in the headlines, the vast number of children that are dying from starvation, with no end or hope in sight. Why do you feel that a God would see your child as more important to save than the thousands who are dying of starvation? How about the large number of children who have suffered over the many years the world over? Are all of these children less important than yours in your God's eyes? I have some questions. Why do you ask questions that you think you already know the answer? Why do you ask questions that you reject any answers given, before the person answering even has a chance to speak? Since all you have to offer is enlightened despair, why do people who have the Truth and hope annoy you so much? ...
  7. Since none of us lived 2000 years ago, we will never know the context of the bible. If Christians were fighting with each other over interpretation before, during, and after the bible was written, How could we even pretend to claim we know the true message today. That's not even adding in the complication that Every early manuscript, of every Gospel we have, is a copy of a copy of a copy. The early manuscripts were changed by so many people, for so many reasons, we have absolute proof of that. Not a problem unless one is looking for excuses to reject God. The message still comes through loud and clear. We are sinners and we need a Savior to neutralize the penalty of our sins and restore us to God. ...
  8. And there we have it, we walk away shaking our heads wondering why some people can't see the obvious. Until the next topic is posted of course.
  9. Good intentions in thought is only that, in thought. Without action, it is the delusion of a sick mind that a god would never leave or forsake us. The horrific conditions that so many children have to endure, the world over, is evidence of that. I believe that even in suffering there is hope. We all shall suffer and die, but in God there will always be hope. But as many of you point out repeatedly, some despise hope and would much rather wallow in their despair.
  10. If I had an omnipotent imaginary friend who gave my son a fucked-up heart I'd be pissed!! You handled it a lot better than I would have(if I believed in all that religious crap) Glad it all worked out for the little guy. Which is why you sit confused and some do not. God created the universe and the laws of physics that govern it. Lovers of God do not get a special pass exempting them form the vicissitudes of life. God did promise however that He would never leave or forsake us. That is in contention for the being the dumbest thing I have ever heard. I am impressed that anyone can even say something that stupid without appearing to be embarrassed. Thank you, then mission accomplished, I was trying to mirror the stupidity of the post I was responding to. Sorry, I promise to try and resist such temptations in the future. ...
  11. Why doesn't the forum have a 'like' button? You hit it, we all are just having some fun.

  13. Speaking never. Notice I said communication. I know that your desire is not for dialog but for ridicule. That's OK, I would not really expect anything else. For me communication seems to be through my subconscious, or from the part of my brain that generates thoughts & ideas. Call it what you will, but so many times answers to problems emerged after prayer, that were so perfect so insightful and so beyond what I could have produced. All I could do was say THANK YOU GOD.
  14. You are correct, there is a two way communication.
  15. [url] Is he listening? And even if he is listening is he paying attention? And is it rude for me to even ask??? Look.., Your God, this Supreme Being has a *master plan* does he not? Who are we to petition Him in prayer and asking Him to Change His plan? Seems to me there is never reason to pray unless you have a better plan than God. Oh yeah, .., .., one more thing.., _____________________________________________ I agree with you, I doubt God needs our input to tweak His plan. It will be accomplished whether we pray or not. Prayer is for us. It is a way to converse and stay connected to what is important in life, God. Good and bad things still happen, but prayer with out ceasing empowers and provides a peace, understanding, and acceptance, like nothing else. ...
  16. And around a million Muslims died defending their religion against the "message of God's love" during the Crusades. I don't know about you, but I can't find any justification for the crusades in the Bible. The crusaders did not wage holy war, just another immoral war. Jesus said that many people would claim to do wonderful things in Gods name but Jesus said I will tell them plainly depart from Me, you evil doers. I knew you not.
  17. It's ignorant to associate every Muslim, or even the majority of Muslims with militant violence. That's such a tiny fraction and to think otherwise is just false. With over 2 million Muslims in the U.S, I'd like to see the amount which 'blow themselves up'. Not sure what the relevance of your post is other than you have an ax to grind. I am referring to the "suffering & dying for their faith" muslims. Who usually suffer and die from their own actions. Not the peace loving muslims who totally reject the radical fringe and strongly voice their objection to such behavior. And to address your other unrelated point, heaven is usually touted to be an improvement over this life for all who go. But from what I have seen lately , it appears that the super duper saints who endure horrible self inflicted sacrifice get much much more. ...
  18. "O wad some Pow'r the giftie gie us. To see oursels as others see us.", Robert Burns. I really like that. I think?
  19. If willingness to endure persecution, injury and death determine the strength of one's belief, then nowadays it is pretty clearly Muslims who are leading in strength of belief. It would be informative if we could talk to one of them before they blew themselves up and see what they really thought. From what I hear they are expecting trumped up rewards in heaven. Christians died at the hands of others in an attempt to spread the message of God's love. Interesting that you would equate the two.
  20. Where shall I begin..? One's 'belief' in something has no effect on its reality either. As sure as Christians are that there is a god, I am sure there is not. it is not that Atheists do not believe, or do not have a belief system, I believe man wrote the bible in order to control the masses. I also believe man needs to believe in something other than life and death..... otherwise it would make no sense....or would it. I believe in evolution. Did we come from apes? I don't know, and I really don't care, but I do know that natural selection selects for the fittest traits for the environment. The Bible, written and interpreted by men, men who lie all the time, and have shown time and time again that they will lie in order to control the masses. And, personally, if I were to choose a god to believe in, it would not be the jealous god of the bible. I would not have a beer with him, I would not friend him on facebook, sounds like a bully to me. The one who loves yet threatens with hell-fire-and-brimstone. The one who has an exclusive club. One that excludes, good, honest, loving people -out of jealousy. The one that give you a place in his party just for believing, regardless of actions (how convenient); you know, Jeffery Dahmer was 'saved', whew, thank god. I had a friend come to me "worried" about my spirituality and salvation, I said "why, I'm not". I don't even think about it. I am worried about those people who are dying of starvation, genocide and war. Worry about them; I'm fine. My 5 year-old put it beautifully when he asked me about god, he said, "he's like Santa Clause" I said, "exactly". You see, I respect my friends enough to NOT tell my son that I believe they are wrong about god, nor do I try to indoctrinate their children towards my beliefs. Respectfully, I tell him that god is what some people believe, others believe differently. So, it is not that we don't believe, it is that we believe differently. EeeeeWeee, I would have no use for such a god either. ...
  21. You don't have an invisible psychotic bipolar sadistic egomaniacal friend like he does? For shame. Interesting projection paradox. It is hard not to notice that when some look at God, all they can see is a reflection of themselves.
  22. Here is a start. Forgive my transliteration, it shows up as "mashiach" here. Thanks, very informative, I am also looking forward to that Mashiach at His second coming.
  23. Also, the criteria for the Mosiach are quite specific, and Jesus did not even come close - though the attempt was very clumsily made in retrospect to claim the mantle. Do your homework. I have done much homework, and would sincerely like to know what criteria the Mosiach needs to meet in order to be accepted by God's chosen people. ...
  24. Dude, the tetragrammaton (yod heh vav heh) is not pronounced, ever. In practice, one says "Adonai." HaShem (the name) is pronounced only by Kohainim in the Temple, in isolation, under very specific circumstances. An attempt to sound knowledgeable has done nothing but display consummate ignorance, as usual. It's like having a whuffo show up at a DZ and pontificate on the nuances of skydiving. BSBD, Winsor With all due respect to God and the use of His Name, it really is a shame you all missed the Messiah. Because through Him God is available in a much different way than how He was through the Jewish people. ...
  25. So all the gods are real! I always liked Odin. You never know, YEHWEH said to put Him first so there must be others out there. Choose well.
