I love central and south america...especially this time of year. We leave for Bonaire in 3 weeks and I am looking forward to some caribean weather.

I am so sorry that you are going through this...it does totally suck to be in that situation. Don't give up on school....it will make you happier in the long run. I believe that Livendive made that post originally. Our 182 had crashed and we were looking at doing the IADs out of the caravan. I never did hear why we didn't go to that and we ended up with another 182 which may have been the over all reason. Contact Livendive...he may be able to answer your question. Ya I actually did have a really good time just doing belly RW with my coach today. Since I've done that stuff with the coach and got my A license check dive signed off should I be able to start jumping some 2 way RW with other experienced jumpers or stay with the coach for a while longer? I'd like to just be able to pair up with someone thats going up anyways instead of buying another ticket. I believe that you have to have a coach or jump with a D licensed person until you have your A license. I could be wrong about it, but I am thinking that is how it goes....double check the SIM though or talk to one of your coaches at your dz. RW can be a lot of fun and more challenging than you realize when you start doing more complicated manuevers. My hubby and I always are doing drill dives which pay off in the long when you start doing bigger formations....and will eventually help you with your free flying skills. I am glad to hear that your jumps today went so well and that you were able to get some coach jumps in. Your right the velcro might just rip off but if it doesn't you could end up with a potential neck injury and a main that is a big mess. I don't fly camera so won't comment any further about it. Regardless, try and find someone to mentor you for your freeflying and don't give up on the RW stuff, it is a lot of fun when you start doing formation stuff. I love 4 way stuff ---- sometimes it is a big shit show, and sometimes it just is really nice and easy. Enjoy the sky and good luck. well at 12 jumps you probably don't have any concept of where you are in the sky and if you are backsliding all over the place for one --- you could run right into another group of jumpers....this is just one example....I myself had backsliding problems for 30-40 jumps....everyone is different ya know? Everyone has different skill levels and you will find that you will be very good at some things and that you will have to work at others. If the coaches are too "busy" .... call in advance or talk to them in advance to see when you can get your stuff signed off. I bet if the coaches or the dz knew you felt this way than they would make sure that you are taken care of. i was told that you should have good competent belly skills prior to trying to free fly.....some of the more experienced freeflyers at our dz recommend at least 100 jumps ----- not all wait for that....but you should be working on your basic skills and learn how to track ect. Your belly skills will pay off in the long run when you are freeflying with a group of people. Regardless I would think that getting your A license skills checked off prior to free flying would be the priority.....but thats just me. for me it was a heavy decision. i have 4 young children to think about and there are a ton of threads about jumping as a parent...just do a search. we all have different philosophies about it. for me.....i actually learned to love to jump. it was the same with scuba diving. now i don't know that i would live my life without either sport present. but it has taken time for me to "fall in love" with each sport because i was worried about the risk factor and the fact that i could leave small children behind....they are 8, 11,17, and 18. here was the conclusion i came up with. I would rather them see me dieing at doing something that i love than for them to not see me living my life to the fullest. here is a kicker...i got hurt this season...it has been tough on the kids (and my sweet husband who took time out of his jumping to make sure i didn't feel bad).....and i missed out on some terrific jumps....but, it has humbled me. I am still willing to take the risks to do what i love, but i try to be as safety concious as possible. I have a pro track in my helmet, i jump a conservative canopy, i don't swoop, I have an aad. You will see that everyone percieves risk differently and that are different risks that people are willing to take. You will find your place in the skydive world and you will love it and hate it at times as it can be frustrating. But I can honestly tell you that i have never had such a great family as the family that i have in the skydiving community....they have seen me at my best and my very worse and still loved me for who i am.
