  1. With 200 jumps I would be cool with you jumping at 1.2 wingload. Choose a nice, straight-opening canopy like a Sabre2, Safire, Pilot, or anything similar offered by other manufacturers. Never mind that it's not a tiny, trendy HP main. You WILL positively run into situations in a wingsuit where you will thank yourself for buying a "smart" canopy. Chuck
  2. You west coast wine drinkers kill me. Paul would look at you like you had a dick growing out of your forehead if you ordered wine at his bar here at Z-hills. We are a decidedly much-more lowbrow crowd. Have fun at the event! See SOME of you in Tejas for SkyFlock! Chuck
  3. They were metal-toothed and around number 10 sized. Large sliders. I had them installed at the local korean laundry (those are everywhere in Fayetteville, NC). They still work perfectly last time I asked.

    Blade

Have you jumped both suits? Do you have any experience flying a V2 against a Blade or vice-versa? I have flown both suits and I find the V2 faster forward and the Blade has much more practical, usable range (at speed or otherwise). I was not very fast in my Blade, but the suit was built a bit top-heavy so it was unbalanced for speed. I am actually faster in my S6 than the Blade I had. The guy I sold my Blade to is three inches taller than me and he was positively ripping it in that suit though. Kris said in one thread how snug is better than loose for performance and he is spot on. Chuck
  5. The Blade is a nice flying canopy, but it's got a tremendously short recovery arc. The lines on that canopy need to be like two feet longer. Chuck

    Blade

It's not a Wings. The design of the center flap actually looks more like an Infinity, except with an up-facing pin cover. Definitely not a Wings.
  7. The Cookie, Diamond, and Xdream lenses all work the same. I can zoom my .3 in to about .43 before it "fuzzes out". For tandem videos I do all the ground stuff "in your face" at .3. For the freefall, I zoom it in a bit. With these lenses you must always use fixed focus. Thankfully, the focus never changes once set in the small range of zoom you have available to you. Chuck
  8. Off topic as it concerns the selling of cars, but word to your mother! There must be thousands of stolen goods resellers on e-bay. What fascinates me are the ones who get away with blatantly reselling "lost" shipment goods from UPS and FedEx. It's amazing. Guys on the dock at UPS/FedEx are DEFINITELY in collusion with lost baggage crooks who sell to third-party E-bay outlet guys. It is positively a criminal racket. Mark, you just struck a nerve.
  9. I don't generally wear shoes or socks unless I am about to get on the plane or about to ride one of our motorcycles or I have to go to town for some reason. It's summer! Tan those feet!
  10. Hey FuckFace, are NONE of you clowns going to Gimpy's wedding?
  11. There are some fucked up people in the world. It baffles me what some of them do to their children when they reproduce.
  12. Everyone smoking your cigarettes Chuck? I haven't smoked a cigarette in my entire life. Disgusting habit. Seriously though, all these fires in FL and GA caused a ton of smoke/haze that simply sat on top of us for the entire weekend. We got a few loads up on Monday before it got too windy. Chuck

    Blade

The degree that you need to close up for transitions to backfly and to barrel-roll are no problem at all. The legwing easilly collapses down to all but the center two cells (which stay super-pressurized).
  14. ugliest.....cutaway system........ever
  15. The professional video guy who answered before me might have confused you a bit, but in simple terms, my answer is "no." Not for the video you are going to produce with a PC 109 anyway. Another thing: good luck finding simple step-up rings for your camera locally. There were quite a few camera shops in the last town I lived in and none of them had anything I needed. They didn't even know where they might get any in that size. E-bay is an option I guess, but what a fucking pain in the ass. Particularly when BestBuy has the product I mentioned hanging on the rack. Chuck
  16. Scotty Burns has three HC cameras now (two HC1's and an HC3). All have that same flap door and none have problems with a cameye. Hey Scott, are you jumping your HC5 top-mounted and exposed on a stroboframe? If so, then maybe you ought to get the cookie box. Scotty's are all exposed (one on a Wess Rich helmet and two on an Optik Illusion). The only other person I have ever seen with your "shutting off" problem is James (Freeatlast) and his was shutting off because he hit the door on exit every time during climbout. I still don't use a cameye. I have a new-in-the-bag one in my teamroom, but see no reason to complicate my system by installing it. If you aren't having any problems NOT using it, then just take it out of the equation once and for all. Chuck
  17. I did the same with two of the zippers on my old GTi. They worked perfectly everytime.
  18. Tim is right about recovery chutes for camera helmets. I very-clearly remember at least two companies offering that option. Hansen was one.
  19. All but one of the original zippers on my old GTi were replaced at one time or another. The suit is still in service in California. I have never had any zipper blow-outs with any of my subsequent BM suits. That's a lie. I replaced one leg zipper on my first S3. Chuck
  20. Nope, but the fact that we were "smoked in" all weekend and didn't get a single load up as a result MIGHT have driven some people to the edge. It looks clear enough to jump today at least.
  21. Sure. Practice exiting on both your back and your belly. Practice barrel rolls. Practice transitioning from belly to backflying. Backfly. Chuck
  22. I have a 30mm .3 lens on mine. I found the cheapest and most readilly-available step-up to simply be a UV filter. It steps up the 25mm PC 109 size to 30mm and I paid like seven bucks for it at Best Buy.
  23. Time will tell. There was not a prototype at FnD that fit me, but we have some on the way that will. They guys that DID fit into those suits really, really liked them. Chuck
  24. Just drive one of your lawn mowers over there, fat boy.
