Hey Brian, stick your legs out, bro. Seriously.
-
Just talked to TK again today about it. There will be no second plane. Personally, I don't give a shit.
-
In Savannah? Sure. Stay at one of the hotels right on river street or Bay street. Listen to all the live music at the bars on River street. Kevin Barry's Irish Pub is part-owned by a guy I used to work with. There is a great place to eat pizza in City Market (right off of Bay street). I love Savannah.

Oddly enough, I have even seen one in person with the FRONT engine removed and a huge electronics pod up front in it's place. I can't recall if it was a NOAA plane or a Coast Guard plane, but it was really odd looking. Chuck

Caledonian Graphics t-shirts from back in the day
SkymonkeyONE replied to SkymonkeyONE's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
They delivered my new "Chuck Blue Ruint My Life" shirts two days ago. Very stylish. -
Also, since you mentinoned General Patreus, I would just like to point out that he learned to skydive at Raeford (with the 82nd club/team and the golden knights). Paul Rafferty (rest in peace) was his primary instructor. He used to jump his ass off, then he landed very hard one time and broke his back. He's a really nice guy. Chuck

65 jumps, jumpmaster graduate, day and night primary jumpmaster duties, and, if I remember correctly, at least 13 "mass tactical" jumps. That last number might be wrong; it's been a very, very long time since I earned my master wings. Guys who have spent all their time in airborne units normally have master wings by the time they make E6.

I am definitely going this year. Chuck

I have three wings with the "quilted" backpad and one with the new spacer foam. The spacer-equipped rig sits a bit thicker on my shoulders, but is super comfortable. That said, the "older" quilted pad is plenty nice. One benefit to the spacer pad is it allows a bit of air to get between you and your rig. While I originally thought it would just fill with body odor, it's actually not gotten stinky at all. I have been wearing it all spring/summer long here in Z-hills and it's like an oven. I have grown to really like the spacer foam. Just tell Ankie I said you wanted "stinky pad" on your rig; she'll appreciate it. Chuck

That's fantastic news!

Very sage advice.

Sweet. I heard Cathy Jean Albert was coming to Flock and Dock 3.5. I am sure she is going to bring demos for us to try.

Mercury Rising: Photos of the new Tony Suit
SkymonkeyONE replied to The111's topic in Wing Suit Flying
He had to get rid of it somehow! With prototypes it simply does not matter what you use, does it? -

SkymonkeyONE replied to The111's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Ah! Something I haven't seen yet! I haven't seen Tony fly this suit on it's back yet, so who knows. I can guarantee it will be solidly inflated, one way or another though, so I can only speculate that there will be very limited flappage (if any at all). On the jump where Tony averaged 38 in the suit, I averaged the same in my S6, but he was far, far ahead of me after he kicked it out. Again, amazing for Tony. You should see the grin on his ugly face! I would have never thought that this would have been a suit that would "work", but if even SCOTT BLAND can fly one and pull away from me, there must be something to it. -

I initially laughed at Tony when he showed up with these prototypes.....Right up to the point that I videoed him to check for proper inflation, etc. They are very, very solid and extremely fast. Big Nose can finally get away from me. I mean WAY away from me (in my S6). They have a narrower legstance than a Mach1, but have longer legs with a different (to the heel) attachment. Very, very stable in flight. We have all been very impressed with these things so far. Funky looking for sure, but I haven't seen any flappage at all out of any of these prototypes. He took four or five of them with him to Europe. Chuck -

I was just there looking at all the old screens a few days ago! TONS of cool shit that they will gladly reprint. -
Now you KNOW I do love a good soup sammich! Gimme TWO, fool!

That first bit is totally accurate. Motorcycles are allowed to travel in HOV lanes in every state I know of. The allowance of "lane splitting" is to allow people a fighting chance to keep moving in snarled, rush-hour traffic. I have been stuck in hours-long traffic jams on interstates and turnpikes where I was able to creep down the middle all the way to the front. Some people HATE it and will actually scream at you and try to stop you, but they are ignorant and simply do not know the law. Open up your side door to try and block a bike where it's legal and it's YOU who are breaking the law. That's actually assault with intent to kill. Bikes; particularly taller, enduro-style and narrow, smaller streetbikes are perfect for navigating through gridlock on interstates and other clogged thoroughfares.

There is actually more stuff in the Muff trailer since Johnny died. It's two slots over and one behind mine here at Z-hills. I am actually looking at it right now out my window.
-
While it is not legal to drive like an idiot at 135 mph, it IS legal to "split lanes" as you described in many states.

What is that? Rye bread?
