Oh yeah, Tiger is from Perris if you happen to be in the area. Definitely check that guys main out if you are ever there. My webpage HERE

Yes, custom aplique is terribly expensive and in some cases looks like shit. On the other hand, some come out freakin GREAT. A perfect example of one is Tiger's main. This dude is totally into tigers and is tattooed up like one. His custom Cobalt has tiger stripes on it and looks fantastic; very much in tune with his persona. That job was worth every penny. Photos from November -- Para Performance World Games

Thanks Rhonda, I was actually looking to acquire a bunch of other pics that I could not afford before I left Perris. Tell OB that I will be getting with him right away. Chuck My webpage HERE -
Emmie, do not expect anyone to GIVE you anything. I work for every jump I make in one way or another. Mostly, the free jumps come from instructing others. My competition jumps are paid for by my very-gracious canopy sponsor (Cobalt Dan), but I pay my own way to competitions. Bottom line is that a company or organization must find some benefit by sponsoring an individual. If you have nothing to offer in the way of competition results or face recognition value, then why would they hook you up? Demo teams get meager sponsorship for jumping into ball games and the like, but unless you possess a PRO rating and can put on a good show, then you are unlikely to get a free ride. Don't fret though, it all comes with experience. In the meantime, just build your numbers and work towards a specific goal. Want to be an instructor or coach? Better start doing drill dives. Want to be on a demo team? Better get a StarTrac and start pounding the target. Good luck, Chuck My webpage HERE

Knock on wood, but I have never had one barf on me yet. I HAVE had three pass out on me under canopy, but all regained consciousness prior to landing. None of those three helped me flare, but I landed all of them OK. Chuck My webpage HERE

Chuck/Alan swoop heading change
SkymonkeyONE replied to ramon's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Like Josh said, but I don't have any problem making final corrections with a toggle either. As a matter of fact, when I am hard carving, or "circle surfing", I lay well over in the direction of the turn, then yank the opposite toggle to get the canopy back over my head after I bleed off most of my usable airspeed. FYI kids: Josh Huls (craddock) is one of only two people to actually land ON the raft in round 8 of The Ranch Pond Swoop Nationals. Outstanding, though I thought my belly skip over the mattress in the video was nearly-equally stylish. Chuck My webpage HERE -

Experienceed Jumpers Toggle Hooking
SkymonkeyONE replied to Geoff's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
That is just the point. If a young jumper starts emulating someone who obviously has a ridiculously-low toggle hook dialed, then he (or she) is going to spank. That is what we want to avoid by teaching a higher carving turn. A carving toggle turn will add a little speed, but people who do them normally end up getting into more of a toggle hook pattern after some time. A properly executed toggle hook is a very dramatic event, but does not provide much room for error. They used to be very much the vogue, but that was before people found out how to get REAL distance out of swoops while at the same time adding in a much larger safety buffer. No, there is nothing preventing USAPT members from doing riser dives; many of them do it this "smarter" way now. The very-low turns came from the team choosing Stilletos as their main of choice. Now, some more progressive members of the team have convinced the command that they need Velocities in order to get competitive in the swoop arena. While there is no plan to have the RW team change mains, the tandem/freefly team is definitely getting some and plans on competing next year. I say "the more the merrier". Chuck My webpage HERE -
The Viking toast: toasmaster raises his drink over his head and asks (in a booming voice): "How do we drink?" Everyone, at the top of their voice and in unison yells: "WE DRINK LIKE VIKINGS!" Repeat many times over the course of a drunken evening. My webpage HERE

Kittinger was in droguefall, not freefall, therefore it doesn't technically count. My webpage HERE

That would be more accurate, but I doubt the general skydiving public would go for it. Chuck My webpage HERE

Experienceed Jumpers Toggle Hooking
SkymonkeyONE replied to Geoff's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Geoff, No, the majority of jumpers in the US perform riser dives to final. Toggle hooking is frowned upon highly, though there are still some people who insist on doing it. Several members of the Golden Knights RW team still do VERY LOW toggle turns much to my dismay. Any swooper with any salt cringes when he sees that done. It's inefficient and dangerous. Chuck My webpage HERE -
Well, not MOST canopies, but certainly most of the small ZP elipticals. A one-stage flare will work on most canopies, so long as you are doing a straight-in approach without any speed-producing turns. Todays more efficient airfoils will generally float across the ground faster and farther, thus the reason for the two-stage flare employed on those canopies. Phase one levels the canopy out and is used to scrub off speed. Phase two stops the canopy without having it climb back up into the air higher than you can step out of. Chuck My webpage HERE

Lisa, your buddy should have know to stay away from 19 year old, chain-smoking pigs. Buy him a Hustler and tell him to go to a bar so at least he will be able to score 21 year old boozehags. Chuckie My webpage HERE

Well, that's true for sure. Mexicans don't drink Corona (nor dox equis). They drink tres equis where available, Presidente, etc. Same goes for Australians and Fosters: they don't drink the shit at all, yet we americans are led to believe it's a top seller there, therefore the uppity yups can't get enough. Advertising is a fascinating industry. It makes Dominicans think we in the US drink Johnny Walker Red and smoke Camel cigarettes like a chimney. Do you know that in Central and South America they (american tobacco producers) send good looking chicks around in custom Jeeps and Land Rovers hawking cigarettes in front of grade schools? Oh yeah, I have seen it. Chuck My webpage HERE
