Javelin containers with soft reserve ripcords
SkymonkeyONE replied to airdrew20012001's topic in Gear and Rigging
Yes, on one of my fully-articulated Javs (the one with the soft handle) there is some cable showing right next to the chest rings. My webpage HERE -
PD Reserves Loaded @ 1.7 or 1.8
SkymonkeyONE replied to Skydive2's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Well, one reason is that people who only weigh a buck and a half don't need anything any bigger than the smallest reserve. Personally, I own two Tempo 120's. I have them because they were small enough to fit in the very-smallest Javelin and economical. It landed me plenty safe two weeks ago, so I am not sweating it. Chuck My webpage HERE -
OK Sunshine, take control of this conversation before someone PW's away again. Before I was locked off the site by the firewall for that extended period, I was always in the top ten. It took quite a while to get back up near there again. Earlier today I saw that Sis had made a run at me, but I have beaten her back into submission for the time being. Chuck My webpage HERE

Yes! Drink like a VIKING! I am still suffering slightly from a bad hangover, but will nonetheless work through it and power many beers at the loft right after work. My webpage HERE

Bessie version 2.0 is my 1987 240 DL wagon. White with blue interior. Black tinted windows. Plenty big to camp or wrassle in. Very stylish. My old lady ran the oil out of the original Bessie. It was an 86 240 DL 4 door and had 350,000 miles on it. It was a sad day....... Chuck My webpage HERE

April, tell my swoopy sister Mariann that I said "hello" and hope to see her at Havasu. I haven't seen her since the Perris meet in November. Chuckie My webpage HERE

I will have to scan in pics of the wrecking crew from here that drove up to Raleigh to the concert last week....They welded a big fin to the top of this old station wagon and painted the whole thing like a big blue shark (tires and all, unless I am mistaken). I missed the show this year, but have always had a blast every time I have seen Jimmy. My wife is a complete and total parrot-head; much more of a fan than I am. I always get her little things from Margaritaville in KW when I am down there. My webpage HERE

Sorry, Tom, but I wasn't at the airport last night. I was at "another" going away function at the clubhouse till 3 am. Ugh! SM-1 My webpage HERE

Off heading? Not really in my experience. PRO or Psycho packing gives yo the greatest chance of a dead-on straight opening and whether the canopy ends up flying straight is more a product of it's overall opening characteristic than what you do with the nose. I generally put one roll in the nose just for shits and grins ( my neck will not tollerate hard openings ) even though my canopy already opens very softly. Any form of flat packing will generally result in at least a 90 degree off-heading opening just because that is the way you put it in the bag, but it's no big deal. Chuck My webpage HERE

I don't use superbands as locking stows, but really like them on the regular stows. They hold up quite well and have less tendency to allow stows to roll out like tube stows sometimes do. I generally always use tube stows as locking stows and mix and match superbands and small tube stows on everything else. Normally, it's whatever I can scarf from a buddy when I snap one. Generally, in my experience (over 21 years in the sport) I have found that rolling the nose will make a canopy open slower than if you leave it straight. This, whether you are PRO packing, stack packing, roll packing, or any other "flat" pack. Conversely, I have found that Psycho packing will make for a softer opening even if you leave the nose straight. Bottom line here is that some people prefer a more "positive" opening, while others (like me) like a TON of snivel. Chuck My webpage HERE
